cherry I think more and more races are stipulating no headphones, organisers just don't want to take the risk of someone getting hurt.
On the other hand, I was helping at a water station last weekend for a 10k race, where headphones were allowed but the organisers encouraged runners to just use one earpiece.
Race was along quiet country roads with little traffic. As the final few stragglers were passing through there was a lady, on her own wearing one earpiece only. She was oblivious to the car behind her, and one of the others at the water station called out to her that once she had had her drink she needed to move over to the side of the road as there was a car behind. She didn't hear him! In the end 2 of us had to go up to her and encourage her to the roadside. Quite an eye opener.
Sonic in response to your post of (I think) yesterday morning, I am job-hunting. I currently work from home as a distance learning tutor, but getting less work due to the usual cuts, and as I have been doing this for 14 years or so I feel it is time to get out of the house again. Not good timing though!
Pants: if running in morning, just go with whatever I slept in. If in afternoon, go in what I am wearing. Eyebrows: pluck or wax.
Weird backache I think after long run yesterday. Windy again here today.
Anyone seen BBC trailers for dramatisation of "Call the Midwife"? Is Miranda in it, or Miranda lookalike?
