Well done fanny that is an amazing time!!

futurity · 20/11/2011 15:11

drno great report and amazing time ..you must be chuffed to get your 2012 goal early!

fanny also amazing time ...sounds like it was epic and I can't wait to read your report!

monkeyLFDTwench · 20/11/2011 15:12

Well done indeed you two, am seriously thinking I need to start an alternative thread for those of us that can't get near those times! Am seriously dead impressed with the pair of you. Is Blackpool going to be a grudge match? .

Off for my short easy run soon, Sunday is more a social thing with a friend. Then shred with DH.

orangeLFDThead · 20/11/2011 15:28

ouch fanny about the toenail. Great time though.
Well done drno for meeting your target a year in advance, thats good going Grin. Shock at no medal though.
Feeling more positive today. Spoke to exh and he has spoken to his osteopath who seems to think he might be able to help ds2. So he is cgoing to take him there and see if that helps. If that does not help going to look more into gluten and casein free diet.
fanny Im still cringing at the toenail.

peachLFDTsmuggler · 20/11/2011 15:36

Wow! Well done DrNo and fanny, great achievements!!!!

Gulp at fanny's toenail!

Glad you are feeling brighter today orange.

Soooo loving sitting here with Kate in my arms having a kip. Need to sort out her nappy though, she ain't gonna be happy!!

backwardLFDTpossom · 20/11/2011 15:38

Amazing times, fanny and DrNo! Well done Grin

orangeLFDThead · 20/11/2011 16:06

Aw peach

MoshiMoshi · 20/11/2011 16:38

Soo impressed with those times DrNo and fanny! You rock, girls!

And so pleased peach is enjoying Baby Kate. Watch out for those baby blues in a few days though. Shock

MoshiMoshi · 20/11/2011 17:04

orange - your DS is so lucky to have you as his mum. As long as you are there, he is going to have every option checked out for him and will be as happy as can be. I can tell that from sitting here in my home (that I must leave boo hoo!) never having met you.

orangeLFDThead · 20/11/2011 17:13

Thankyou moshi
I'm sure you will make your new home just as wonderful and you will be soon feeling just as at home. It must be hard though.

MoshiMoshi · 20/11/2011 17:23

fanny - you are a member of the 'hood now. I currently only have 7.5 toenails.

backwardLFDTpossom · 20/11/2011 17:25

I've no pinkie toenails. I sometimes put nail polish on the stumpy bit that's left to make it look like I do. cringe

peachLFDTsmuggler · 20/11/2011 17:27

Oh no you don't!!! This is the all inclusive, fast or slow, LFDT runners thread, park yer bum mrs marathon runner!!!

Just had lovely nap on sofa while Kate slept in Moses basket. She'll be DD2 soon, but she can be Kate for a wee while longer Smile. less than 2 weeks to go Rhet, or less if we can trust your DP's instincts!!!

sfxmum · 20/11/2011 17:27

great times DrNo & Fanny I think the toenails thing is another badge in the proper runner wall

peach that is sweet dd saw the picture and thought it was lovely too.

AngeChica · 20/11/2011 17:41

Firstly congratualtions to peach on the birth of your lovely daughter and th amazing times of Fanny and DrNo.

Just dipping in as am away at my parents' sans DS and DH! I miss them terribly but a couple of days of not getting up at 5.45am is a novelty :). did my 10k in 62.14 ... no splits sorry. I would have liked to do sub 60min but I am proud of how i have even brought my fitness up to this level from nothing, and it gives me something to beat! It was a glorious day here in Suffolk. The route was 2 and a half laps round the town and quay so 3 x shingle road and 3 x hills made it challenging! It was a lovely event - I would recommend to anyone in East Anglia. Steve Cram and Allison Curbishley were the VIP guests. You got a bottle of Adnams in the goody bag plus M & S Percy Pig sweets and some Kettle Chips. The only - being the smell of fish at the quay nearly made me heave a couple of times.

It was quite :( to see my dad go over and chat to all his old mates from running club, he has cancer and his running days are over, but up to a few months ago he was running 60+ miles a week and I know he misses it terribly.

Catch up soon.

DrNortherner · 20/11/2011 18:13

ange well done on your 10k time. As you say a huge achievement to get to the level of fitness to complete in a very respectable time Smile Sorry about your Dad. That must be tough for him and you Sad

The goody bag sounds ace though. Percy pigs?! Am well jell Grin

I have all my toenails intact, but one is black and never recovered from my HM in June.

Forgot to add that today I was humbled by a few runners pushing people in wheelchairs. Always brings a lump to my throat, and makes me realise, whatever time we get, thank God we are fit and able to run hey?

Also, one guy was running with a tranny radio stuck to his hip, but no head phones, so moves like jagger was blasting out, and I saw one girl collapse. Not nice.

stickyLFDTfingers · 20/11/2011 18:39

What great performances from all of you fanny, drno and ange! Congratulations on the great time on the hills, fanny, your brilliant PB drno and ange - is that a PB for you too? Excellent time. Yay!

That's very sad about your Dad ange. We should enjoy our good health while we have it.

DrNo Couldn't agree more.

Peach enjoy every minute (sounds like you are!). They are newborns for such a short time, and so very lovely. Give baby Kate a kiss from me!

I have only one slightly bruised toenail, and they're all in tact. I guess that's another sign that I'm just not trying hard enough!

Durham's been shrouded in mist all day, so took the girls up on to the hills, where it was glorious sunshine :). So nice they're at an age that they like to go for a walk, rather than having to be bribed and cajoled the entire way. The autumn colours are gorgeous.

Have a LSR planned tomorrow, really looking forward to it.

sfxmum · 20/11/2011 18:53

That is a good result ange sorry about your dad, never easy

DrNortherner · 20/11/2011 18:58

fanny the Macmillan calc estimates my HM time (using my new 10k pb) as 1.50 so you still have the edge, and as you have more HM experience I am certain you will beat me in Blackpool. But I'm not bitter. Wink Seriously, seeing as my first HM was 1.58 if I get anywhere near 1.50 I will be delighted.

But I do like the idea of us setting off to the Rocky tune Smile

futurity · 20/11/2011 19:14

Sorry to hear that about your Dad Ange but well done on your time today.

Just checked my toenails (odd looks from family!) and only have one black one so I am not hardcore enough Wink I do have my yearly sore toe that comes about when the weather gets cold and it swells and remains sore for the whole winter..it's a right pain!

monkeyLFDTwench · 20/11/2011 19:23

Oooh I love a good toenail debate! Current situation:

  • one MIA
  • two black but intact
  • two (big toes) with small black patches.

Lovely. The half size bigger clown shoes (8) I'm wearing at the moment has hugely improved them though.

WishIwasCherryMenlove · 20/11/2011 19:27

Hi all,

DrN, Fanny and Ange well done on today. Sorry to hear about your dad Ange.

Just been on my first run in a week as I was resting my shin splinted leg. It doesn't feel too bad now, a bit achey, but I think I am overly sensitive to it. Will ice it later on.

BUT, it was such a great run, especially since I haven't been for a week! Nothing fancy route wise or time etc, but felt like leaping around excitedly as I was happy to be out.

Monkey I will send you a pm about hills runs round here (so as to not bore all with my indepth knowledge of hertfordshire gradient!).

Re good dramas, loved Game of Thrones too. Not a drama but I have just watched "let me in" which is an american remake of a swedish vampire flic - it was fab in terms of drama/look/atmosphere. Is anyone watching Pan Am? I am quite enjoying how it looks etc, but it must win the prize for the cheesiest show ever.

WishIwasCherryMenlove · 20/11/2011 19:28

I have all my toenails btw.

Not enough running clearly.

monkeyLFDTwench · 20/11/2011 19:36

Thanks cherry look forward to it!

I have the Swedish original of Let Me In on dvd - brilliant but I think it's really sad. That bit where Oskar asks "her" how old she is and she says "I don't know, I've been 12 for a long time." Sad - bit gorey though! Saw the American remake at the cinema and it was surprisingly good too.

monkeyLFDTwench · 20/11/2011 19:54

All this talk of books and films has reminded me it's nearly time for my traditional pre-Christmas spooky classic read - usually MR James or Wilkie Collins. Anyone else do that?
