Grin noshi
How you doing peach? Hope you get some sleep.

fannybanjo · 20/11/2011 07:01

Well I'm ready for a good rubbing day. Bring it on!

cest hope move went ok and I bet you don't get this kind of chat on Runnersworld, in fact I think I'd be banned from there...

NoshiNoshi what wiv you being the fasting rubber on here, you could give us advice on how to deal with the friction burns.

peach hope you slept ok and apricot is feeding well and being a good 'un. Yay to photos!

Debi well thank god I didn't put DB in that post re your DH watching you rub! Grin

Just informed DH don't do rubbing BEFORE a race so he's a bit miffed.

Right, I'm going to go feed my face then setting off at 9. What the fuck have I let myself in for? Let's hope Wales brings out the quality cocks.

I wouldn't be at all surprised in MNHQ deleted this thread! As my 12 yo would say - it's shocking!

It's very foggy here today so if you're outside, wear reflective clothing and all that.

Off to stand on a rugby pitch cheering DS1 on this morning.

MoshiMoshi · 20/11/2011 07:48

Good luck fanny and rub like the wind today!

How was the night with Kate peachy? I love newborns. Can you post her smell on here for us to sniff please?

monkeyLFDTwench · 20/11/2011 08:31

Oooooh yes that newborn smell ..... Smile.

On the subject of rubbing, I would say I'm generally a social rubber, I do it for fun and my own health, but am hoping you more experienced rubbers will help me pick up the pace. Nothing like the wind in your hair on a great fast rub to make you feel alive.

Looking forward to the reports and especially cockcount fanny I don't think there's anything against a quick warm up rub just before the event is there? Your DH was robbed!

drN hope your pasta salad didn't get you into trouble at the rugby. DH once genuinely took an M and S prawn sandwich to Old Trafford, wonder what Sir Alex would have made of that?

peachLFDTsmuggler · 20/11/2011 08:33

Go fannybaws!!!! I think you'll ace it lady!!

noshi, loving your new name, tee hee. Yes newborns are just so scrummy eh? After sleeping all day she of course didn't fancy sleeping much at night! Unlike DD1 she doesn't want to feed all the time (yet) though she fed more than during day. I've seen better letter latches, so will work on that! Think we had a few hours sleep (can't remember when!) she is sleeping on my shoulder just now. She is such a little munchkin, I just love her so much! DP taking DD to party this afternon (piñata, piñata!!!) so will grab some zzzzs then at very least if little Kate happy to sleep on my sister.

peachLFDTsmuggler · 20/11/2011 08:37

Yeah fanny, isn't that just for boxers? Wink

euueeww had for for forgotten about how sticky the Stuart meconium is. I brilliantly bought 1 bag of cotton wool. Excellent shopping there peach

liath · 20/11/2011 09:42

Good luck to all those rubbing a rcae today and happy cock-watching all!! Grin.

debi and bumply fingers crossed your injuries improve, so frustrating for you.

monkey I loved GoT, I thought it was better than the books and can't wait for series 2.

Alas no rubbing for me today, off to take the kids and dog for a walk then dim sum for lunch (mmm!).

sfxmum · 20/11/2011 10:10

Newborn smell enjoy peach more pics required. Dud big sis get anything special?

fanny you are such good value you are forbidden to change.

Very foggy here lie in for all of us maybe swimming later after we have breakfast

rhetorician · 20/11/2011 10:33

have not seen Game of Thrones...what's it like? nice enough here today - SIL coming by to take DD to the swings, so will try and get a good bit of my run in while DD is out of the house...must hydrate and hoover first

rhetorician · 20/11/2011 10:33

oh just googled it - it's fantasy - not generally my thing, although DP would probably like it...

monkeyLFDTwench · 20/11/2011 10:51

Rhet yes GofT is fantasy - about a number of noble families all fighting for control of a number of kingdoms. All very ruthless, lots of political intrigue and betrayal, pretty violent - not unlike the Sopranos actually! The performances in the TV series were brilliant and I found the whole thing gripping.

Just watching The Biggest Loser - never seen it before, and it's amazing. I think it would be very repetitive to watch all the time, but to see how much people are capable of changing their bodies is just incredible.

monkeyLFDTwench · 20/11/2011 10:54

Hmm - so good I said it twice?

sfxmum · 20/11/2011 10:55

Would Atwood be considered fantasy? I love her, and all her readership cannot be just self declared fantasy fans

sfxmum · 20/11/2011 11:00

And one of my favourite dystopian tales is Swastica Night by Katherine Butdekin
BSG us very political dealing too
In fact most proper fantasie and sci fi deals with political moral and ethical issues

Will stop geeking now Blush

rhetorician · 20/11/2011 11:34

heading out shortly for an almost 10 miler - am definitely at the carrying phone and taxi fare home end of the pregnancy!

anyone know what time conwy cockwatch starts? I've noticed that most UK runs are on Sundays, whereas most Irish ones are on Saturdays - possibly because Irish people are only willing to sacrifice one night's drinking :o

backwardLFDTpossom · 20/11/2011 12:16

Had a great rub this morning. 11.5km of trail running in the woods - very hilly, very muddy and VERY hard. But I loved it!

Good luck to the ravers today Grin

monkeyLFDTwench · 20/11/2011 13:27

sfx I love MA. I've read everything she's ever written - I think. Yes I think she is definitely considered sci fi, especially some of the short stories and The Handmaid's Tale. I get lots of stuff on fb about her articles and reviews, and lots of them are from sci fi fans.

monkeyLFDTwench · 20/11/2011 13:29

Sorry, you said fantasy! Smile

sfxmum · 20/11/2011 13:47

monkey I am looking forward to her newly released collection of essays and articles

sfxmum · 20/11/2011 13:49

about reality TV I am probably odd as I just get embarrassed watching it I squirm them can barely stand them, sometimes it just looks a lot like cruelty to the sorry unhinged and deluded people who just go on it

peachLFDTsmuggler · 20/11/2011 14:04

I love MA, but am less keen on the sci fi stuff.

I think what a lot of people I know have said about GOT is that even people who are not into fantasy like it. Am planning to read them at some point.

sfx, DD1 got a book (mr bear's baby) , a Tinkerbell DVD, and a My Little Pony from her new baby sis! She was very chuffed!

fannybanjo · 20/11/2011 14:40

Fuck. Me. That. Was. Hell. On. Earth. With. Toenails. Hanging. Off. HmmBlush

However I did it pretty much exact same time as Lancaster!! 1.49.37 on Garmin. However I do think I stopped it too far off the finish as I couldn't see for dehydration. Hmm. Chip time won't be too far off.

Tough tough tough run. 4 miles of steep hill, roughly 2 miles of trail and sand. I am chuffed with my time as comparing it to Lancaster, this was another level. My friend did it 1.47.05 (Garmin time) - she's made up. She powered down the hill where I didn't so much as my toenail is loose.

I'll do race report later.

Afternoon all Smile

How is everyone? peach how is kate doing? Hope you are settling in at home nicely Smile

Well. I did my 10k in 49.37, so smashed my 2012 10k target in 2011 Grin Best set meself a new one for 2012. Had a bit of a stressful time getting there and finding parking, dh and I were shouting screaming at each other and I really wanted to throttle him, but e found parking in the end. The race was superbly organised, Nell McAndrew did the warm up, she is tiny in RL, she came in at about 38 mins - very speedy! Weather conditions were perfect, 9 degrees, bit foggy, no wind or rain. Great route from city centre, out to Kirkstall Abbey and back. The elites pass you on the way back. First man back in 29 mins, first woman in 33. From the get go I felt good. No twinges, no stitch, felt strong. Ran my first mile quick for me, but felt able to keep it around 8mm pace for the duration. Felt it a bit in the last mile but think that is also mental as I knew I was on track for sub 50 and then suddenly felt the pressure to keep the pace up. Slight hill towards the finish line, still had enough for a final sprint across the line. 8000 runners, great atmosphere. Dh did 41 mins and my mate did 51. All in all I am delighted with my time, didn't think sub 50 was in my reach just yet. Just goes to show on race day you can pull it out of the bag. It's the first 10k I have run where I actually felt good for 90% of the race.

cocks spotted : 0
Goody bag: Tshirt, bottle of water, bottle of lucozade and NO MEDAL!

Split are below:

1 7:40.7

3 7:57.7
4 7:56.3
5 8:02.7

7 1:41.6

Good luck to all of todays racers, look forward to your reports Smile
