The varicose veins on the right leg so be careful.

what's the weather meant to be like in Dublin the next couple of days rhet? DP is trying to decide on what coat to bring?!

stickyLFDTfingers · 24/11/2011 22:37

Yikes, the snow's coming.... flashbacks to last year... Shock

rhetorician · 24/11/2011 22:37

dry, windy, and relatively warm, looks like

rhetorician · 24/11/2011 22:39

I have one of them, as well, fanny, also on right leg. Never bothers me, although I do think that the blood supply to the calf muscles in that leg isn't quite as good - more prone to stiffness/cramps etc

stickyLFDTfingers · 24/11/2011 22:39

that's good! Sorry, was just reacting to the BBC weather there. I saw much too much snow last year.

fannybanjo · 24/11/2011 22:39

Nah too complicated rhet. My running plan is pick a number out of thin air that I want to be able to run at pace wise (so say 7.30m/m) then train like a piss artist on meth for weeks at that pace. Bingo.

OP posts:
rhetorician · 24/11/2011 22:40

simple is good - and it works for you, so why change it?

fannybanjo · 24/11/2011 22:42

Ah, rhet we were separated at birth. If your toenails are as bad as mine, it's just uncanny.

drno glad niece is improving (and garmin too but obv less important ).

Glad piles easing peach

My goddaughter (and her mother) have strawberry blond hair but redder when younger. Think its lovely .

Logging 5 miles on treadmill - warm up then km intervals of 12, 12.5, 12.5, 12 . Recovery of 500m which was too long and will up speeds of intervals but not sure what is happening in shin dept so didn't want to go mad. Total time around 43 mins I think.

fannybanjo · 24/11/2011 22:46

Funny how our training schedules match our personalities!

fannybanjo · 24/11/2011 22:48

I need to do damage limitation re the red hair don't I? I bloody love it, my two girls are like Titian red and it's amazing. I was joking just in case anyone thinks I was serious. BlushBlush

Hope your niece gets better soon DrNo, as others have said, thank flip for the NHS.

I think red/ginger hair is supercute, and we are Scottish so really it's our birthright!!!

Re. Body hair, I dont have any excess really except for my Bert style mono-brow which poor old DD has inherited.

cherry, agree you should wear what you want to wear, not what you think you should want to. Smile

sticky for the love of god woman, don't google piles, you'll have flipping nightmares... Definitions always mention the bunch of grapes thing, but I find them more to be like a set of badly tied Scout knots....

stickyLFDTfingers · 24/11/2011 22:53

don't worry fanny, no one who's read your other posts would imagine you weren't joking :)

stickyLFDTfingers · 24/11/2011 22:55

peach too late, already did. Could only read the first few lines tho, I don't cope well with people's insides. Makes me faint (really!). I am now more educated tho!

fannybanjo · 24/11/2011 23:01

sticky would you like a red grape...?

OP posts:
stickyLFDTfingers · 24/11/2011 23:02

Confused aah, I'm off to bed (probably to have grape-related nightmares Shock)

You mean, fanny. Mean girl.

peachLFDTsmuggler · 24/11/2011 23:09

Oh sticky, if only they were on the "inside"....Aaaaanyway, sweet dreams m'love!

monkeyLFDTwench · 24/11/2011 23:11

I once had to sit through an entire wedding dinner sat with a man who described his recent "banding" op in loving detail Grin. Just a thought to push you over from nightmare to psychosis Smile.

Don?t think I?ve managed to get on here since the weekend ? manic week!
Big WELL DONE to Fanny and DrNo on your super speedy times at the weekend and Ange too

Peach - loved the race birth report.

hat - what a great moment to have

Hope all the injuries are feeling better and your niece DrNo

Interesting to hear all your career and academic stories too - peach - I did an MSc in IT after a non IT degree too ? have been in and around IT ever since.

Cherry - one of my best friends got married in scarlet ? it was lovely. I got married in an Armani trouser suit which I?ve been able to reuse in several combinations since (it suited our Las Vegas venue! Grin )

This week I?ve managed to do a slow 8 miles, 22 mins of hill repeats with running club (ouch) and a plodding 4 miles in the wind yesterday. Might do a wee 3 miles tomorrow or Saturday before I don my antlers for Sunday?s 10k.

Have been practicing ?Rudolph the red nosed reindeer?..?

Hatwoman · 24/11/2011 23:22

SonicMiddleAge · 25/11/2011 04:28

All ? not been able to long on recently so
peach - belated congrats

And I notice there are a lot of races this weekend so good luck to everyone. I?ve not been running all week under the guise of tapering, but really beecasue it?s been over 34 every day... actually I did 5km on Tusday morning but then had to stop as was dehydrated and dizzy. A good learning for Sunday, which is thankfully forecast for rain. DH says I?m twisted that after a whole week of summer weather I?m actually happy about a rainy Sunday as it means I can run this bloody race without collapsing!
