Wheely Thanks
I just got DS2 the micro-mini scooter from Jojomamanbebe!
He's going to be so excited when he opens it.

Milk man has not delivered out milk AGAIN today. Last Friday I cried when this happened and put the extreme reaction down to PMT. This week I have just cried and since it can't be PMT I now know that in fact not having my morning cup of tea does make me cry.

fannybanjo · 25/11/2011 06:53

bonkers keep in a carton of UHT in case this is a frequent error? God I'm so bloody helpful, even 6.45am. Wink

Sonic blooming heck, no wonder you went dizzy. Running in 20 degree heat kills me. What time do you go out? My friend going to be gutted if she struggles to get out when she's in Perth. Good luck for Perth.

hat hope you realise I was joking, I'm not a ginger basher really! Wink. I'll have z nose at your pic when I'm on the puter later.

Day 2 of DH AWOL. All is quiet in the Fanny house. I'm gonna be demented at approximately 08 hundred hours. Don't know if I can juggle pack lunches AND breakfast alone. Best haul my arse out of bed.

I have planned a LSR run with rubbing chum this morning. Wanted to do my next Half marathon route (it's local) but not sure if doing a 13 miler today a good idea. Hmm

fannybanjo · 25/11/2011 06:56

Oh talking of micro scooters, a well known Internet company sent me 4 by mistake and didn't realise when I ordered one for DD1 when she was 3. Grin. I did send them back. DID I FUCK

SonicMiddleAge · 25/11/2011 08:14

Fanny, I went out before six, but think I need to go a little later, and drink more first. Was about 25 then...

peachLFDTsmuggler · 25/11/2011 08:39

Oof sonic that is hottttt! Glad the forecast looking better for Sunday.

bonkers, you need to get yourself a goat. Wink

bit of a nightmare night. Kate came up to bed with me at 10 and fed constantly till 5, and I mean constantly. Just as well my nips ate sorted or they'd be in shreds this morning. As soon as it is daytime she literally cannot keep awake. Sigh. She just woke up and fed for 2 mins and now is back asleep, which is where I am going. Yawwwn. It seems virtually imossible to get her to stay awake fir decent feeds during day but do you think if I made a real effort with this that it would even make any difference overnight. My tendency would be to think that babies will do what they are gonna do and nothing you can do will change it anyway so best just ride it out till it improves, but am open to suggestions!!

MoshiMoshi · 25/11/2011 09:32

If she was a sleepy baby to start with peach it might take time for her to wake up to daytime noises and light. Eventually she will be more wakeful but you can encourage it by stripping her when she is feeding etc so she is awake for those times. Because I was worrying about going back to work with all but the last of my babies, I was hell bent on getting into a rhythm sooner rather than later. DC1 was a textbook baby but DC2 was anything but (sleepy feeder and very highly strung). DCs 3&4 were dream babies. I think it helped to organise myself and be there for the other DCs if I had my days and nights the right way round, not least because it meant I wasn't a danger when driving them around because I was so tired! I think you can try to stop her getting used to getting her daily intake of milk during the night by stretching out the delays between nighttime feeds and encouraging those day time feeds. Hope you get settled soon!

MoshiMoshi · 25/11/2011 10:16

Sore throat today. I seem to have succumbed to the family cold. Was hoping I was invincible and able to soldier on with the move Sad.

DrNortherner · 25/11/2011 10:37

Morning ladies. Thanks fro kind words about niece and Garmin, both are doing really well, she should be allowed home tomorrow Smile

hat I can see no pic of red hair, just lots of snow capped mountains Hmm

peach You do know that pile cream is also good for under eye bags? All the supermodels use it doncha know.........

4 mile dog walk this morning with a friend and the dogs, trying to see if I can fit a run in later but have so much to do I shouldn't really be here......

Have a great Friday all Smile

DrNortherner · 25/11/2011 10:38

Oh, and eagerly awaiting the arrival of postie today as he might bring my new headband!!!

stickyLFDTfingers · 25/11/2011 10:43

poor bonkers - I was going to suggest pilfering some of those little cartons of milk next time you're in a cafe, but Fanny's suggestion is much more honest! Is the milkman sickly?

moshi hope you get well soon, though with all the stress I guess you'll be extra susceptible at the mo. Get lots of vit c in you!

peach I reckon some gentle persuasion is in order, if possible, although little K is of course tiny still. My main method was to feed them pretty much constantly though the evening, so to go to bed as full as possible. It worked because they played along, of course.

fanny my mum had that multiple sending thing with vegetable steamers. Which are less fun than scooters, but very useful at Christmas!

Weather atrocious here today - high winds, rain, really cold and dark. Fortunately no run scheduled, so I can stay hibernated with our Jills and the gals. Brrrrrr

Hatwoman · 25/11/2011 10:47

DrNo it's on the "basics" page - rather than in my pics. the snow capped mountains are in fact a frozen waterfall - if you look very carefully you can see some climbers

rhetorician · 25/11/2011 11:13

oh dear moshi - but not surprising with everything you've been through in the last few weeks - get well soon!

weather here has improved now that I am inside in the warm and dry - did a cold, windy and somewhat squally 5 miles - I have pleasing amounts of mud on my legs...forgot HRM in the palaver of getting out the door, so ran by feel - did 10.25 m/mi or thereabouts and it felt easy, so am delighted with that. Back to the monitor tomorrow though!

ibbydibby · 25/11/2011 11:37

DrNo sorry about DN, glad she is improving. Scary stuff though

No run for me today (in fact have not run since Tues Blush) saving myself for big day on Sun.

Knackered after meeting in London yesterday and didn't sleep well last night. Bit of an incident where a Very Important Mantold a lady in her 60s (at a guess) to use an earpiece instead of using her phone on speaker - we could hear all her convo. However she very politely explained that she was deaf and could not use an earpiece. Also said she was under pressure as daughter il with cancer. He just would not back down though and went on and on. Was horrible, so when he had gone back to his seat I went and asked her if she would like me to get her a tea or coffee - and she burst into tears. Felt so sad and sorry for her

Friday lunchtimes I usually help a friend run a recorder club at school - am no musical prodigy, just have ability to play simple stuff, and correct children if playing wrong notes etc. Anyway she is unable to do it today and asked if I was ok to go it alone (alternative is to cancel). So I said yes, and am now bricking it......

rhetorician · 25/11/2011 11:59

ibby why was he being such a git? poor lady - at least you showed her respect and kindness

cannot advise on recorders - but how wrong can it go? if they all start tooting uncontrollably, you'll all just dissolve into giggles

am about to venture into attic to dig out baby car seat, baby bath, baby rocker (you get the picture!) and to hope that I can find the lovely fleecy wrap that we had for DD1

sfxmum · 25/11/2011 12:13

drN good to hear DN is on the mend scary stuff but so glad there are means to heal.

ibby re recorder, when dd's teacher is away and a substitute take the class they usually just do short exercises
hideous episode with VIP and woman, I think some people need to publicly reinforce their basterdness authority

peach dd was a very sleepy feeder, but she was jaundiced, I had to strip her or blow gently on her face to keep her awake enough to feed. I hope it settles soon into a better rhythm for your sake

not sure if I will manage to run today, study taking priority, still sore from yesterday but it was so good to kick and punch while shouting, I just never do that, must repeat next week

good luck for the weekend racers, I must make a start on Christmas shopping, so far only dd is sorted

fannybanjo · 25/11/2011 12:17

I'd have smashed the phone in that obnoxious bastard's bollocks. Seriously, I would. Bullies make me froth.

peach you can go one way or the other re feeding. I was of the "on demand" camp but I could be as unlike Moshi, didn't have to rush back to work. However, all 3 within a few weeks fell into a good pattern. I made sure it was food they were after and although not everyone's cup of tea, they all had dummies so I could see if they just wanted some comfort. Took the dummies away when they got older. I think Kate will get the day and night mix up sorted within a week or so. If not, then you'll need to intervene! Try not to get too stressed as it will pass very soon.

Run completed, we decided again LSR.

Hill reps with 1.5 mile warm up and cool down. Easy pace. 9.35. Climb of 140 foot per rep x 4. Kept pace at 9.30m/m throughout. Piss easy today, can't believe how easy hills now are - my friend said the same. Need HRM desperately.

Oh was 6.67 mile run. Smile

Hatwoman · 25/11/2011 12:24

ibby what a story. well done for showing the lady kindness and compassion - you almost certainly had a big impact - one that hopefully redressed the selfish behaviour of the bloke

Hatwoman · 25/11/2011 12:26

Smile at fanny - you really aren't someone to mess with you are you?

rhetorician · 25/11/2011 12:29

peach lovey, I am not ignoring your trauma, just very conscious that we will be there in only a few days.

We have lots of kit, seemingly for tiny girl, but no fleecy wrap anywhere. Fucking freezing in the attic.

Would be v. curious to know what HR you are running at fanny - just for my records, dontcha know?

fannybanjo · 25/11/2011 12:33

hat I wouldn't resort to violence Wink but I'd certainly put him straight!! Couple of my old bosses have had the lashing of my tongue on a few occasions when they have treated people poorly. It may sound like a cliche, but I don't tend to take shit off anyone, people should earn respect, it's not a given. I'm very very nice to people though and go a long way to help anyone but bullies, nah, won't tolerate them. Anyone bullies my kids, I'll be on their parents doorsteps to sort it out. I'm not volatile at all, I just like people to be treated fairly. Make a good Union boss I've been told. HmmGrin

fannybanjo · 25/11/2011 12:34

rhet my friend had hers on today and on the easy pace heart rate was approx 125-130 then rose to 170 on the steep hills. Her max should be 185. That sound right to you?

OP posts:
rhetorician · 25/11/2011 12:37

yeah, sounds good to me

peachLFDTsmuggler · 25/11/2011 12:40

ibby, what a vile man! Glad you were there to be kind to that poor woman.

DrNo, glad DN and DG ok Smile

thanks the advice ladies. I definitely am going to demand feed, but today's strategy is stripping her off to feed, which is working right now as the little poppet is feeding right now and fairly alert. DD was helping me blow in K's face yesterday to no avail!! Evening cluster feeding would be great as I can just sit on the sofa reading improving books watching shit tv. dummy a good idea fanny, am sure we must have some about as tried every one under the sun to settle DD1 when she had colic. She spat them all out! DP and MIL out taking DD1 to swimming so having lively peaceful time, just me and K.

Hope you fing the fleecy soon Rhet. you have reminded me we don't have a baby bath, as we borrowed last time. We do have a tummy tub though sp that will last a few weeks.

Moshi, have you tracked down G Trainer yet in SF???

Hope it is as beautiful where you all are (running) as it is in London today!

fannybanjo · 25/11/2011 12:40

I need one don't Ms Ferguson? Gonna look at amazon but firstly, have curtains to
iron...

Hey, chuffed with myself today - I raised £160 for preschool doing the GNR and they've bought a new water table, dolls, prams and other lovely jubbly stuff!
