I’m sure that 4% hit was being talked about even before the Referendum, but was poo pooed.

borntobequiet · 26/03/2023 19:07

This from 2018 anyway.

No one in their right mind would describe Google as "Left Wing"

More garbage from the Loony Right who perhaps need to start seeing Brexit for what it is.

Wait till you hear what Bard has to say about the Telegraph ....

Yay! More winning

Back-to-work schemes in England previously funded by EU forced to close

Gove made the announcement too late for any councils to be able to reallocate budgets, so they all have to close. Yay Brexshit!

Government’s post-Brexit funding U-turn comes too late for councils to allocate money to keep them running

It was.
Leave said it would boost the economy. Idiots chose to believe them instead of Pascal Lamy and Mark Carney.

There was a piece last night on Countryfile about UK farmers not able to grow salad crops during the winter. Partly because of the astronomical increase in electricity prices to heat the greenhouses, but also because of the inability to get staff. EU workers can now only stay 6 months and it's causing major problems in such places (as we know).

Some bod from the government was interviewed and when challenged about visas and the length of stay for workers he just kept repeating the phrase 'we're in constant talks with the Home Office'. Good luck with that.

He also banged on about how much cash has recently been thrown at the problem and how many visas have been issued. Just the same old meaningless answers given every time, regardless of what the issue is.

The Telegraph have not been in their right mind for some time.

Two local farmers.

The one who voted leave lost his major contract selling potatoes to Ireland (yes, I know) and has ended up having to sell the majority of his land. The other is finding it hard to harvest is having to do major diversification and moving to pick your own for some crops.

And yes the Telegraph is bonkers. My Dad used to read it back in the day and although conservative leaning it wasn't like this.

Absolutely zero sympathy. If fact I have negative sympathy, fuck um.
'They knew what they voted for' and I bet they're blaming everything except Brexit and they liars who told them to vote for it and given the chance would vote Leave again (somehow expecting a different outcome).

Remember @Kendodd Its not the fault of brexit but that of a Govt loaded with pure unadulterated Remainers determined to undermine the "Democratic Will of the Great British peoples" who spoke as one on their hatred of the EU.

Where did this totally fictional government get elected ? My recollection was that Boris was give a big Fuck Off Majority solely to "Get Brexit Done".

I know we can't call Brexiteers thick fucking idiots, but if you can't win a game you rigged and neutered opposition to, then maybe you need to reconsider your capabilities.

The only good thing about the internet and Brexit is that it has faithfully captured the debate and therefore the ever-changing excuses for it's failure.

Well once again today our co working centre is full of people doing immigration visas. Is it full of returning single and mainly youngish Europeans here for a few years , nope, it's full of non white non Europeans with huge families. Now I'm a remain voter /campaigner ,not racist and don't have an issue with decent quality immigration- I do however have an issue when all our rights to live, work, export to EU have been decimated in order to still have a ton of immigration from country's where the vast majority of the population don't particularly want to work or settle. 'We hold all the cards'?? No, it seems to me everywhere else held all the cards.

SerendipityJane · 29/03/2023 14:10

'We hold all the cards'

As with everything, the definition of "we" was critical. Knuckle dragging Brexiteers somehow imagined that when people like Rees Mogg said "we" it included them. When everything in the history of the Rees-Moggs of this world suggests that they have spent the best part of a millennia desperately avoiding such inclusion.

So when Rees Mogg said "we will be better off" he wasn't lying. Just didn't mean you.

There is a refreshing honesty about this poster, when you realise who "You" and "Us" are.

SerendipityJane · 29/03/2023 14:39

It's quite telling that poster would never be used now. Especially after the Horlicks the Tories made of Covid.

Yes we have got rid of a cohort of mainly skilled intelligent workers, with shared European values for what?

So Boris fucking Johnson could become PM.

The next thing our current lot of complete fuckwits are going to screw up is AI and their ’light touch’ regulation by which they mean none in contrast to every other developed economy belatedly realising the dangers posed by AI. It cannot be left to the private sector alone. Except, oh yes, the UK’s private sector is as exceptional as its governing politicians so that’s okay then. Why, Judy why do we have so many narcissists running this country?

Light-touch AI regulation puts Britain at odds with EU

The UK is trying to tempt artificial intelligence businesses to its shores with a light-touch regulatory regime, forging a separate path from Europe, which plans tougher laws around the new technology.

DrBlackbird · 29/03/2023 23:08

Hmm who is Judy? Will she be the one to sort our country’s political woes?? 🤔
