I'm going to go with Murina Mirza quit as her own decision as she is fed up with not being listened to which put a spanner in the works of clearing out some scapegoats for the parties.

Maybe

Panic?

Ooooohhhhh!

Isabel Hardman on Twitter
(@IsabelHardman) suggesting that Johnson allies are trying the line that the Savile line of defence actually came from Jacob Rees Mogg.

Unreal!!

So copying and pasting is a useful skill after all

Hang on, I know someone who is good at copying and pasting off the internet, did they write this policy?

If I see them around tomorrow, I'll ask them.

It’s getting embarrassing now. Johnson’s like a jilted lover who just refuses to accept that it’s over and the younger, fitter and better looking Sunak is the one that the Tory faithful want to embrace. Time for passing on that crown. Oh we’re all still screwed of course but it’ll be done with less fanfare and fewer parties.

So CutnPasteova was Gove all this time?

Wow!

Peregrina · 03/02/2022 23:41

To be fair to Cutnpastinova - I think she does a better job. I gather Gove's report not only had sections lifted from Wikipedia but even repeated them.

If JRSmug was the one to encourage Johnson to make the Savile jibe then he’s two for two as he admitted encouraging Johnson to take a stand on Paterson. That wasn’t the best move.

Johnson looking a bit dim if so as he might have learnt his lesson from that first bit of bad advice. Besides, JRM has a track record of putting foot in mouth (thinking of the Grenfell comment).

No, no, JRM is famous for his common sense. It is just a mystery why everyone else hasn't worked out that he is a fashion icon and copied his style.

Well they've certainly had the free time, by their lack of input to this thread ...

DGRossetti · 04/02/2022 08:23

Given the religious fervour Tories invest in Johnson, does anyone remember the ending to "The Man Who Would Be King" ?

DuncinToffee · 04/02/2022 08:25

Very low turn out in the Southen West by-election and lots of spoilt papers

With the caveat this is sadly an exceptional election and ordinarily would be less pressured by current political events out of respect, (it seems Johnson has pissed that away too) what have the pundits extrapolated from any swings ?
Peregrina · 04/02/2022 09:00

The comparison I imagine should be made with the election contested after Jo Cox's murder.

DuncinToffee · 04/02/2022 09:21

The Batley and Spen by-election has a similar turn out. It was more the spoiled papers I picked up on from listening to the news this morning.

DuncinToffee · 04/02/2022 09:22

had a similar turn out

NEW: High court in Belfast suspends "the order or instruction" given by Edwin Poots to officials to stop Brexit border checks pending a judicial review scheduled for 7 March

BringBackCoffeeCreams · 04/02/2022 13:44

I wouldn't be surprised if JRM suggested the Saville slur. His reaction when Johnson said it seemed way too gleeful. Now it makes sense,
