Brexit

What have we gained by Brexit/leaving the EU?

In simple terms.

I've read so much about what we've lost.

Please no sarcastic comments. I just want to know what we've gained - probably best if those who think Brexit is a positive thing post.

Number of UK Government SpAds = 102.

Don’t remember electing them either?

CaptainSandy · 01/01/2021 18:19

No one cares what they think. They aren’t driving the car anymore. They are strapped into the child seat in the back. Better put their dummy back in.

This level of childish spite is really making me believe that Brexit will be wonderful and that all Brexit voters are intelligent, thoughtful individuals who voted for a better country.

At least the EU gravy train won’t be on call ever again. We’ll be saving far more money paying your husband to do his normal job than we will paying a bunch of unelected bureaucrats.
But boy oh boy will we be paying out for British unelected bureaucrats to untangle the mess over the next few years

Red tape and paperwork is the UK's new growth industry Xmas Grin

Oh goody goody. More taxpayers money for Johnson's unelected cronies.

Peregrina · 01/01/2021 18:41

On the whole I would prefer unelected bureaucrats, who at least go through training schemes before they do their jobs, than unelected cronies, e.g. Dido Harding, who have zero knowledge of the tasks in hand and undergo zero training.

Maybe as a retired unelected bureaucrat, I should be put in charge of horse racing. I know zilch about it, so am well qualified.

You only need to know which end bites and which end kicks.

And which race sponsors to bung your massive NHS contracts to.

TerryHearn · 01/01/2021 19:35

By the sounds of it most of the Remoaners on this thread stand to gain the most from Brexit if I believe what they are claiming. IT consultants and retired bureaucrats. Why the faux anger? Or is it that the reality is that we will cut down on red tape over the longer term and you will stop having your nests feathered? Some of the most solid hypocrites are on this very thread. Parasites basically pecking away at any bits they can manage to get in their greedy little beaks. A side bet is that you are all BTLers. Prove me wrong.

DoubleTweenQueen · 01/01/2021 19:40

@TerryHearn Why do you still bother coming on this thread? You have nothing useful to add, just insults and your own self gratification?

BTLer?

DoubleTweenQueen · 01/01/2021 19:43

You are hilarious! No

Peregrina · 01/01/2021 19:56

How is massively re-introducing red tape on customs forms, reducing it? Or we introduce shed loads of forms so that in 4 years time the Tories can crow about how they reduced it (when they quietly go back into the customs union).

And no, I don't have any other properties than the one I live in.

SabrinaThwaite · 01/01/2021 19:58

@TerryHearn you are so very funny with your Buy To Let obsession.

I guess a degree dabbling with politics didn’t qualify you for a proper job?

Goodbye2020Hello2021 · 01/01/2021 19:58

(when they quietly go back into the customs union)

Haha yes!!
Even BJ knows this has been one massive fk up! 🤪

Goodbye2020Hello2021 · 01/01/2021 20:01

Why is *Terry’ wittering on about BTL?

Peregrina · 01/01/2021 20:05

Dunno, I thought he put BLT and wondered whether his Christmas dinner hadn't come up to scratch.

DoubleTweenQueen · 01/01/2021 20:11

Straw clutching? A lot of that about these days.

SabrinaThwaite · 01/01/2021 20:18

On another thread Terry googled my user name and now they’re convinced I’m a character on The Archers. They invented a whole backstory, involving buy to lets, cash-in-hand builders (Philip Moss I’m looking at you 🤔) and au pairs.

And they think we’re delusional.

Prove me wrong I’ll refer you to Hitchen’s Razor.

You couldn’t make it up 🤣

SabrinaThwaite · 01/01/2021 20:25

I suspect Terry has been overindulging in the bitter over in the Arms Smile

Hoppinggreen · 01/01/2021 20:26

Is it better or worse if the rental properties are in The EU I wonder?

DoubleTweenQueen · 01/01/2021 20:27

@SabrinaThwaite Or the absinthe? Still there, talking gibberish

Mistigri · 01/01/2021 20:30

You're joking right? Otherwise that's seriously creepy/stalky bloke territory.

SabrinaThwaite · 01/01/2021 20:32

Probably makes it a bourgeois second home and then you’ll be a traitor or something.

Unless you’re Stanley Johnson, in which case you’ll be a jolly good chap.

DoubleTweenQueen · 01/01/2021 20:34

Lol!

jasjas1973 · 01/01/2021 20:38

Remember that children love attention. Negative attention like screaming or yelling can be rewarding to a child. This is true especially if you were not paying attention to your child before the misbehavior started......

Sorry posted on the wrong thread!

Nope. Creepy and completely ridiculous at the same time.
