No, not yet, but soon. Just 24 more sleeps until we legally leave the EU at 11pm on 31 January and finally enter the transition period after what seems like centuries of argument, dither and delay. We do so with hope, optimism and a determination to be a good friend and neighbour to the EU, but for now, no one said it better than Winston Churchill.

“This is not the end, this is not even the beginning of the end, this is just perhaps the end of the beginning.”

The Pub Rule is the same as it always was: all welcome but only if you leave goadery outside. The first drink is on the house.

😂😂😂😂😂😂

MichaelFabricantsHair · 18/01/2020 22:04

walkingdead you possibly don't know how much it worries me that people like you, a committed Leaver, who has absolutely won, via Leave and Boris, feels the need for a 'safe place' like this, post-Brexit?
Why does it worry you?

HateIsNotGood · 18/01/2020 22:06

Can I get you a drink Miljea? I'm not sure what questions you want answered. Are you specifically awaiting a response from a particular poster or is there a specific question you have that others here, including myself, might answer for you?

MichaelFabricantsHair · 18/01/2020 22:08

Miljea you're kind of like a smelly pump in a lift; unwanted but no threat.

Miljea · 18/01/2020 22:09

dirty um- this highly moderated MN. If you think this is 'nasty', what's 'allowed' (I.e 'not deleted'), you need to back out.

Compared to FB, Twitter, SC, etc; this is a 'safe space'.

However, I am angry with MN, with this particular thread, how, early on, the bully-girls got all dissent deleted to the extent even regulars on here expressed a bit of embarrassment at what an echo chamber this thread had become. No one bothered with debate as everyone who didn't agree with the Top Three, got a gf label. Forcing many back to The Other Place where it's much harder work as you have Keep Up.

I think this pub is developing a little in that respect.

howabout · 18/01/2020 22:11

I'm going to confess to my first thought being Dan Jarvis Blush

In other news we should have got the Queen to negotiate Brexit.

DustyDiamond · 18/01/2020 22:12

the bully-girls got all dissent deleted

Nope, not true

No problem with differing opinions or 'dissent'
It's nasty, spiteful little goady-fuckers ive nae time for (and being a nasty, spiteful little goady-fucker is against talk guidelines)

I think you and I have been reading different threads. Did you read my earlier posts about the disabilist abuse I received?

TheGhostOfEpicPast · 18/01/2020 22:14

HaHaHaHaHaHa!!!!!!!

Well.... I’ve seen some gaslighting, untrue bullshit posted here in my time, but by christ it’s getting fucking hilarious now!

HateIsNotGood · 18/01/2020 22:14

Dusty - Jarvo looks so young there. Your memes are really talented, I have no idea how you do it; much as I'd like to learn how to do memes, I really can't. I'm still catching up with years of stuff I already know how to do...after all is said (and little done).

Miljea · 18/01/2020 22:15

However, in the time it took me to write that, I see there is still work to be done here. I wish you well, OP, but to my mind, I am perplexed regarding the rude aggression on here given that You All Won!

Are none of you acquainted with winning anything in your lives that you don't know when to go 'Yes, my ideology triumphed over yours.'. And leave it (sic) there?

Then if you're more evolved, you'd go 'However, I recognise that about half this country isn't on board with this; for my vision of utopia to succeed, I recognise that I need to dial down the triumphalism and engage with you, as we can't 'do it' (whatever our own private version of Brexit looks like) - alone'.

Miljea You got a ban/warning because you were acting like a 💩, stop trying to justify it by blaming leave voters.

Miljea · 18/01/2020 22:16

I'm glad I hit home, Dusty. 😉

Walkingdeadfangirl · 18/01/2020 22:17

How dare leavers have a safe space to talk about Brexit. I guess its my fault for walking into remainers flailing fists.

Miljea · 18/01/2020 22:17

So, who were you, before, fabricant Please tell me you're not a 'list maker'!

MichaelFabricantsHair · 18/01/2020 22:19

Difference is, I'm not the one poking the hornet's nest. You are.
As for "winning" no I'm not used to that. I once won a garden bench in a school raffle but I try not to show off 😊

Miljea · 18/01/2020 22:20

walking why do you not get that you don't need a 'safe space'? Why are you feeling so vulnerable?

You won. You have Leave, you have Boris, you have Cummings, you have Trump!

You most likely also have Putin! What more do you want to feel safe?

Walkingdeadfangirl · 18/01/2020 22:21

Why does winning anything mean you have to accept abuse? Have you any idea how disgusting that is.

DustyDiamond · 18/01/2020 22:22

I'm glad I hit home, Dusty

You're 'glad' that you've been exceptionally nasty to me Confused

That's a bit weird tbh

If you can.be arsed to Advance Search, you'll see I'm who I say I am. I can give you user names prior to this one but I'dbe happier sendingthem privately due to confidentiality regarding my kids.

DustyDiamond · 18/01/2020 22:23

Oh hang on!

Are you saying you're actually Miljah?

Who'd have thunk it?!

AutumnRose1 · 18/01/2020 22:23

Maybe not so much a safe space as a space where people don’t constantly scrape nails on a chalkboard.

Imma turn up the volume on the jukebox

Miljea · 18/01/2020 22:23

Ah michael. I apologise. I was goady in asking what you'd 'won' in life.

I genuinely do understand why many who felt 'left behind' might look for the bogus, IMO, 'change', 'Leave' promised.

dirtyrottenscoundrel · 18/01/2020 22:23

I think many remainers weren’t acquainted with losing.
