No, not yet, but soon. Just 24 more sleeps until we legally leave the EU at 11pm on 31 January and finally enter the transition period after what seems like centuries of argument, dither and delay. We do so with hope, optimism and a determination to be a good friend and neighbour to the EU, but for now, no one said it better than Winston Churchill.

“This is not the end, this is not even the beginning of the end, this is just perhaps the end of the beginning.”

The Pub Rule is the same as it always was: all welcome but only if you leave goadery outside. The first drink is on the house.

Did we win Trump? Wowsers! How did we manage that? We are truly magical! I always suspected, but now it is confirmed! Hurrah!

Miljea · 18/01/2020 22:24

dirty there is truth in that. Many remainers had been better acquainted with success in life, by and large, I'll grant you that.

TheGhostOfEpicPast · 18/01/2020 22:25

Good question Dusty! I remember Miljah too! Where did that delightful poster go?

MichaelFabricantsHair · 18/01/2020 22:25

walking why do you not get that you don't need a 'safe space'? Why are you feeling so vulnerable?
Who are you to say we don't need one? How about we just fancy a "safe space" and you're an annoying pest?

Walkingdeadfangirl · 18/01/2020 22:26

Autumn, nice music. I hope the whole Arms is listening.

TheGhostOfEpicPast · 18/01/2020 22:27

I mean, Miljah was lovely!! I really miss her! Crown Sad

Best to just ignore I think as they're doing the same trick of old - goad & goad until we bite back then try to get the thread pulled

It's very odd behaviour Confused

MichaelFabricantsHair · 18/01/2020 22:32

I genuinely do understand why many who felt 'left behind' might look for the bogus, IMO, 'change', 'Leave' promised
Aww thanks, do you mean you understand because I'm working class? Because I'm disabled? Because I live in social housing? Because I work for the NHS? Because DB and DS are vulnerable people?
I still stand by my vote and you'll never change that so please, just shhhhhh.

Miljea · 18/01/2020 22:33

Interestingly, the other place debates dissent. Here, it's 'annoying pest'. That, in itself, possibly, lamentably, tells us all we need to know.

I will 'Leave' you to it, for now. 😂😊😂 (that was a play on words).

But i still don't understand why a conquering hero needs 'a safe space'. But heigh ho. I can see my presence on here has caused upset to many, so a posse sets out.

I will step away as I don't want to cause further upset.

But...

God help us if you are the snowflakes leading us into the brave New post-Brexit world.

TheGhostOfEpicPast · 18/01/2020 22:34

Yeah, I’m down with Ignoring Dusty, fair shout. Sorry for biting if you are reading MN, but fuck me, this crap from the same old goady ploppers is tedious AF.

NiceGuyNeddie · 18/01/2020 22:36

Wonder if Saj will get the chop on 1st Feb - telling the truth about price rises and business' failing, that's not The Way.

Walkingdeadfangirl · 18/01/2020 22:36

I am still flabbergasted that any sane person thinks if you win then you should be open and accepting of being abused.

You are a card! You love causing conflict and when you feel you're on the back-foot you retreat to try and save face. You're what would be known as a Minge round here Grin

TheGhostOfEpicPast · 18/01/2020 22:38

Sorry to hear you had to put up with Bile like that from other posters Michael, it’s grim behaviour. From the same people that delightfully elevate themselves as our moral and intellectual superiors, without a shred of irony. What a joke.

Erm no, you're actually just an annoying pest.

Ah it was a lesson learned 😂

TheGhostOfEpicPast · 18/01/2020 22:42

Goodness, landlady? Did you install a new revolving door? If I didn’t know any better... 🤔

DustyDiamond · 18/01/2020 22:43

I too am flabbergasted Walking

Weird as well how the recent poster is not our only old-goader reborn with a shiny new name

It's really Arsey behaviour 🤷đŸģ‍♀ī¸

NiceGuyNeddie · 18/01/2020 22:46

Those new Tory voters are going to have a very low tolerance for any price rises. They might have learned to say that Brexit is a process and it might be a bit 'bumpy' etc but as soon as it directly affects them in the pocket there'll be a lot of upset

MichaelFabricantsHair · 18/01/2020 22:50

"NiceGuyNeddie" in the spirit of disclosure, you don't seem all that nice (going by general definitions).
Are you actually secretly "nice" or are you as arsey as you actually come across?

SingingLily · 18/01/2020 22:51

Goodness, landlady? Did you install a new revolving door? If I didn’t know any better...

Evening, all, just popping in to tidy up behind the bar. I did install a revolving door but unfortunately, the passing trade kept catching their backsides on it so I decided it wasn't worth the public liability insurance premium.

However, I did install some air vents in the ceiling above the far end of the bar. So much hot air was being generated that it seemed my environmental duty to utilise it.

Judging by what I've seen tonight, we should be able to heat all of Birmingham till the end of the month.

DH voted Tory. He's not upset. I'm.a Leaver but voted Labour all my life. We manage to rub along 😂

SingingLily · 18/01/2020 22:54

Just to be clear, when I said "backsides", I was being polite.

One particular arse kept getting stuck in the door and its owner kept shouting for attention.

Is it my imagination or is there an echo in here?
