Brexit Arms - Out with the old and in with the new

It’s time again for another Brexit Arms thread to see us into Christmas and beyond.

Well what a week it’s been!!

Boris has now completed his first week and he’s been busy. New conservatives have been sworn in, the Queens Speech yesterday shows promise (aware that the proof of the (Xmas) pudding is in the eating) and Boris’ Deal is going to be voted on today with the results being around 3pm I believe.

Meanwhile, on the other side all four wheels have definitely fallen off the red bus and were very nearly joined by a garden gate and a car door. Oh dear!!

Anyway, I have added a few more Christmas decs to the pub and popped the fairy back on the tree (it took a nasty tumble)

We are now good to go.

The only advice I can offer to anyone just now is "don't engage". If Jas had been banned, you would expect no further posts from them anywhere on MN after yesterday lunchtime. A simple search shows this not to be true. In any case, the only person who could get Jas banned is Jas. Personal responsibility, and all that.

If other posters want to froth at the mouth about something that didn't happen, there's really not a great deal anyone can do about it. People like that can't be reasoned with, and they can't admit they are wrong even when inconvenient truths emerge.

I do think, though, that for some reason, the level of scrutiny is greater than normal and the objective is to provoke a reaction from us - preferably one that confirms their bias.

Agreed, it’s all gone very Orwellian doublethink hasn’t it? State a falsehood, keep repeating it, tell other people repeatedly that the falsehood is true, even to those who witnessed the truth, then find people who didn’t witness either the truth or the creation of the falsehood, then rally them to defend the falsehood which they then merrily go on to do. Job done, bullshit circle squared.

Tbf, I don’t think you always have to be a complete pain in the arse to get banned, you just need enough people to constantly report anything you post that isn’t a simple apple pie recipe.
HQ get fed up of the reports and probably hit the ban button for a quiet life.
Certain posters get followed around, I’ve seen it happen, & not just on this board.

I'm hoping for the appointment of a sensible Equalities Minister who is not afraid to use common sense.

He doesn’t seem to make anything of it apart from a navel-gazing distraction. If it doesn’t serve his purposes then he’s going to dismiss it, so here’s hoping he never finds it useful or mainstream enough to give a shit about. I read that blog entry this morning and it is very entertaining! Some excellent job opportunities there for some people.
