Is it now just a case of Boris suggesting stuff and the Tories nodding it through or is there likely to still be lots of disagreement?

I know that mockers ... but mystery is conveniently ignoring their contribution and seems to be blaming Nazism on the Irish

I think scrolling on by is best.

Peregrina · 16/12/2019 15:27

Also trying to suggest that the Americans came in to support the UK much earlier than they did. The Americans were not fighting Nazism in 1939.

Piggywaspushed · 16/12/2019 15:28

You are right auld Note to self.

AuldAlliance · 16/12/2019 16:11

I'm trying to view it as a good test of willpower, piggy...

The US doesn't think so, and hasn't done since 1945

So US did not appreciate UK during Gulf Wars and InvSion of Iraq?

Peregrina · 16/12/2019 22:15

By Special relationship I meant that the US would give the UK favourable deals. Not a one way relationship where they will encourage us to waste our own money fighting their wars.

CrissmussMockers · 18/12/2019 17:01

The Special Relationship is a security relationship. We get free nukes. No one else does.

Peregrina · 18/12/2019 21:06

Gosh, I will sleep sounder in my bed at night knowing that!

This may be a zombie thread, but reading it many months and an election since it was really lively, I am struck by the continual references to the number of independent nations registered with the UN. Out of them all, the UK's trade is concentrated largely with the top 20 and the largest countries. Trade with Antigua, Barbuda, Cameroon etc. [ and on through the alpabet] is trivia, so there's no reason to take it seriously.

ListeningQuietly · 04/03/2020 10:56

XingMing
Absolutely. It is the Quality of trade deals that matters not the Quantity

One trade deal with the worlds largest trading bloc 26 miles away is worth many, many times
one trading deal with a small island nation 5000 miles away
