The Brexit Arms. Is this Ben Elton? Is it free mulled wine and mince pies for everyone or a Corb-free Christmas 🎄?

Welcome to the Brexit Arms!

The temporary Landlady is back but worry not, all is festive good cheer with just another three days to go until we reach the Only Poll That Really Matters. Till then, the gloves are still on!

A quick recap of the events of the last week or so:

📋❓💙❤️💛⁉️💙‼️🤷🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️😀☹️😀☹️😧😱🙄😬🤥🤔🤕🗳

Anyone of any political persuasion who is prepared to join in, eschew goadery, and enjoy a laugh, welcome. First drinks are on the house.

Dusty I can't believe it, that video!

Horrific isn't it

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 12/12/2019 08:12

“By coincidence my big Christmas (largely booze) delivery was due this morning between 7 and 9, and I've just had a message to say it'll be this afternoon.”

😱😱😱 bad times! but hopefully it’s because the driver is stuck in a massive queue of people trying to get to a polling station to stop Comrade Corbski getting in.

Silver linings? 😂

GreenishMe · 12/12/2019 08:14

Morning all....squeaky bum time :(

Big news: I've produced my first ever meme!

I'll put the link to this evening's election night lock-in towards the end of this thread.

I'm going to try and keep busy today to take my mind off how uncomfortably nervous I am.....a technique I always used in early labour. Oh there's that word again!

See you all later :)

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 12/12/2019 08:24

“a technique I always used in early labour. Oh there's that word again!”

Hopefully just a false alarm, still very painful though. 😂

bellinisurge · 12/12/2019 08:30

Very busy at our polling booth. More than usual according to officials there.

SingingLily · 12/12/2019 08:39

Morning, all, again!

I wish I'd known so many of you were awake in the small hours too. We could have had a chat. I haven't had a wink of sleep.

The Momentum bots have been at work overnight trying to negate the damage of Jezza's Pink News interview, claiming it's three years old. Hmm. Given that the man doesn't appear to have changed his mind on anything since at least 1983 and is constantly lauded for his consistent stance on everything, that's academic. In any case, John McDonnell's MN webchat was only on Friday and confirms what was said so how "old" does the information have to be before it can be credibly discounted? Six days? Six hours? Six minutes?

The pace will pick up today, not least because I'm fairly sure we'll get some last minute canvassers (why should we escape the Hooded Claw!) so be drink aware, folks.

I'm off to answer the unexpected call of public duty soon. Can't believe that my MP rang yesterday late afternoon to ask me to be a teller. It must be all hands on deck Shock. I'll be sitting in drenching rain (fortunately I'm a Northerner. We can really only tell it's summer when the rain is warmer) so I've got wet weather gear. Wish me luck. I won't be back till after 2pm.

However...we're going to need a new Landlady till GreenishMe takes over this evening (A meme? ⭐️) so you're just going to have a democratic vote without me. Happy to accept the majority verdict...unlike so many of our so-called Parliamentarians.

Courage, Comrades.

Good morning. I won’t be attending the lock-in as I prefer to wake up in the morning with a sense of excitement and anticipation and run to the window, flinging the curtains wide......oh hang on, no, that’s for snow. Not elections.

Or naked in the middle of an earthquake in my case... 😂

Oh yes, I remember reading that, Epic Grin Grin

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 12/12/2019 09:00

Apt cartoon lily!

Hollycatberry · 12/12/2019 09:04

Morning all. Lots of people at my work talking about voting today and many have already been before work which is good. Of course those "not voting conservative" have loftily and loudly announced this! Luckily a sensible lad replied to this by saying just vote for who you want and that's the end of it.
My social media is still full of stuff today. Honestly am thinking an election silence for 48hrs that applies to news and social media would be bloody refreshing and allow people to make their own minds up without momentum bots screeching at people.

Anyway roll on 10pm so we can get a clue of how this might pan out. I work in financial services and many people i know in different firms are doing election planning and emergency calls tomorrow if its Labour / hung parliament. Says a lot really. Also... watch the £.

DustyDiamond · 12/12/2019 09:06

Hola Bellini Brew

Did you spoil your ballot in the end?

I've been mulling over what I'd have done in your position over the last few days (think it was mused on here last night as well)

If Corbyn was the only one offering Brexit & Tories were anti Brexit, I'd have spoiled my ballot for definite

We've only got 3 candidates running here - I wouldn't have voted for Lib Dem because of their capture by the extreme woke & I wouldn't have voted for an anti Brexit Party.

But there's no way on earth I could have 'held my nose' for Corbyn
He's foul
And the culture he has enabled is sick

I follow quite a few Jewish people on twitter, and the stuff they've been posting is beyond awful (see video linked here last night for eg)

It's not even 'just' the Jews now - a group of Indian Hindus have spoken out against him also

I truly believe that Corbyn, McDonnell & acolytes are a dangerous prospect - not just for the economy but for our culture & way of life

Solidarity comrade Bellini 🍷
I know it's been a tough one for you 💐

DustyDiamond · 12/12/2019 09:07

Enjoy the front line today Lily ✊

For Brexit 🙌🙌

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 12/12/2019 09:10

“If Corbyn was the only one offering Brexit & Tories were anti Brexit, I'd have spoiled my ballot for definite”

This.

Stopping Corbyn is WAY more important to me than brexit.

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 12/12/2019 09:10

Pray for Sally.

🕯 🙏

Twattage13 · 12/12/2019 09:30

Papers are reporting queues of 45 mins in my constituency - I've never had to queue before any time I've voted. Going to hang fire until mid-morning and then mosey on down.

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 12/12/2019 09:37

“Papers are reporting queues of 45 mins in my constituency - I've never had to queue before any time I've voted. Going to hang fire until mid-morning and then mosey on down.”

😱 let’s hope it’s in the right direction....

On another note, has everyone seen AIBU today? Jeszus christ. Carnage, so many spammy vote Corbyn type posts...

Why on earth are MN allowing it to swamp the whole site like this? I thought that’s why they have a brexit and politics corner? Confused

Twattage13 · 12/12/2019 09:46

I am not too sure epic. This is a strongly remain area (75%+) and the Lib Dems are doing well (but not well enough to take the seat), which is probably going to let Momentum back in sadly. But we shall see...

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 12/12/2019 09:56

Ugh, nightmare twattage, well let’s hope they only get it by a slim margin if they must win it then. A message needs sending!

Hollycatberry · 12/12/2019 10:00

On another note, has everyone seen AIBU today?

I've sent a report to MNHQ as there is one poster starting multiple shrill threads and dominating AIBU. MN needs to get a grip, not only is it scaremongering but people should be left alone on polling day to make their own mind up.

AngelicInnocent · 12/12/2019 10:00

Morning all.

Seen on faceache this morning......

Skint people have been voting Labour for generations and they are still skint!

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 12/12/2019 10:04

This, I think it’s fine to have some politics corner threads running, and obvs the long running threads here and FWR, but the AIBU shitfest makes a mockery of this site today tbh.
