The Brexit Arms. Is this Ben Elton? Is it free mulled wine and mince pies for everyone or a Corb-free Christmas 🎄?

Welcome to the Brexit Arms!

The temporary Landlady is back but worry not, all is festive good cheer with just another three days to go until we reach the Only Poll That Really Matters. Till then, the gloves are still on!

A quick recap of the events of the last week or so:

📋❓💙❤️💛⁉️💙‼️🤷🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️😀☹️😀☹️😧😱🙄😬🤥🤔🤕🗳

Anyone of any political persuasion who is prepared to join in, eschew goadery, and enjoy a laugh, welcome. First drinks are on the house.

And yolo let's have a look at 'purchasing' and 'procurement' procedures (and costs), unecessary tiers of management and their compensations, etc.

And top of the list re-instate Nursing Bursaries and the SEN/SRN systems as well as increasing the access streams to Dr of Medicine study to, dare I say, the less economically-able but very acaemically/medically-able UK student.

DustyDiamond · 10/12/2019 22:15

My eldest is 17 - just a few months too young

He'd have voted Tory, he's also pro Leave

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 10/12/2019 22:15

Oh, and we need to begin to form the resistance, who’s in? 😉

DustyDiamond · 10/12/2019 22:16

Better dig out 1984 and practice my two minutes hate.

😂😂😂
✊🥀

XingMing · 10/12/2019 22:16

I am, but unfit for heroic duty.

DustyDiamond · 10/12/2019 22:18

I'm the most unfit I've ever been in my life but I'll go down fighting Epic ✊

Sign me up!

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 10/12/2019 22:18

“I am, but unfit for heroic duty.”

Doesn’t matter, we all have skills! Smile

I’m actually only half joking here, I do actually want a back up resistance network for when it all goes totally pear shaped (which it will). Blush Grin

XingMing · 10/12/2019 22:18

Have we just had a siege storm from Momemtum? We must be talking sense!

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 10/12/2019 22:20

Ok, well heed the call folks, if it get’s dicey, we will move to private fb groups, but once they take control of the internet, we might have to resume old fashioned methods in case we are caught. Does anyone have pigeons? (At least we are still old enough to know how to use phoneboxes and write letters I guess? 🤷🏻‍♀️) 😂

😂😂😂😂

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 10/12/2019 22:21

Sorry about my appalling grammar, I write far too quickly... BlushGrin

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 10/12/2019 22:22

Going to order my rainmac and neckerchief tomorrow.

HateIsNotGood · 10/12/2019 22:25

There is no way on this fecking earth that I'm going to communicate via FB, Twatter or Redditch. MN is my limit thank you - I'd rather send SAEs if that demonstrates my stance - just saying.

mixtap · 10/12/2019 22:25

Uncle John MaoDonnell in charge of state broadband. What could possibly go wrong?

Comradesally · 10/12/2019 22:26

I'm also the most unfit I've ever been but I'm also in.

Honestly it's ironic people think schools etc would get better under corbyn, I see horror and stasis teachers ramming lefty down dc throats with free reign, schools plummeting with under investment and rabid left politics free to take firm hold.... Standards and everything falling...

Poverty everywhere, poverty of aspiration, Grim Grim Grim. Of course that's without the kick back from hard core leavers who are not going to take their vote shat on lightly... Riots.... Civil discord with feeble evil corbyn coming on TV to say '' come together '' when he is the most Vile divisive sly man...

yolofish · 10/12/2019 22:26

OK so, the thing I really don't get: you lot in the Arms are Leavers right? And it seems to me that you are going to get what you want... ie a Tory majority which will enable Brexit. So why are you all so anxious and having to denigrate any kind of remain/soft leave option? You're going to 'win' after all?

Comradesally · 10/12/2019 22:27

Epic.. I used to live in a phone box in my chain smoking youth 😂 do they still exist???

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 10/12/2019 22:30

“There is no way on this fecking earth that I'm going to communicate via FB, Twatter or Redditch. MN is my limit thank you - I'd rather send SAEs if that demonstrates my stance - just saying.”

We can defo do SAE’s! But, they will nationalise royal mail... so. Do you have time to train a friendly local pigeon for delivery services? 😂

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 10/12/2019 22:32

“Epic.. I used to live in a phone box in my chain smoking youth 😂 do they still exist???”

Only in certain places... 😬 but you never know, with Nationalisation, maybe we will get them back. Phonecalls may be rationed and we may need them. Ooooh, will I get to collect special edition corbyn phonecards?

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 10/12/2019 22:34

Pardon my ignorance, but I have genuinely no idea what this post means?

Comradesally · 10/12/2019 22:35

What a nightmare.

How can people be so stupid!!

Even passionate Labour people like laird sugar say they will leave if corbyn gets in!!

I'm genuinely scared. These are nasty nasty people, corybn, macdonnel... And those shady figures behind them.

Wolves in sheep's clothing people!!

XingMing · 10/12/2019 22:35

@Squid4 and @yolofish, reflect on the idea that you have to have a functioning economy before you can afford a health service. If Labour wins, we shall probably look at retiring outside the UK, and we are not (even close to being) multi millionaires. Just modestly successful small time, small town business owners.

I know it goes against the grain to say so, but making a successful small business is hard work. The ability to see a profit opportunity is rare, and the ability to spot them over and again, and to keep your customer happy to buy from you for 20 years, or more, is not down to luck.

HateIsNotGood · 10/12/2019 22:36

If you're actually asking yolo - it's because after over 3 years, not much has happened in terms of Brexit, except the World still goes by, and the UK is caught into this inter-galactic-gravitational force called Brexit - and most people in the UK just want the Brexit to stop so they can get back into the World. They don't want the World to stop - just Brexit Uncertaintity.

After over 3 years, the BJ Deal is what we have - if there was something better to be had, well, it hasn't happened.

I'm voting Tory because I want an end to the Brexit stasis.
Nothing anyone says or does will change that.

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 10/12/2019 22:37

Ok, I’ll have an attempt,

Who says we are going to win? Confused

Hung parliament is not a win or anywhere near... Corbyn will get together with sturgeon and enough independents to most likely form a government.

Why would we not be concerned? Are we not allowed?

And what have we won? Where is brexit again?

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 10/12/2019 22:38

“I'm genuinely scared. These are nasty nasty people, corybn, macdonnel... And those shady figures behind them.”

Yep. But what do we know, we are just nasty tory baby killers.

yolofish · 10/12/2019 22:40

Well it was actually a genuine question and I'm sorry if it was unclear. But it seems that 'you' (the communal 'you') will get Brext assuming a Tory majority. What type of Brexit that will be will depend I guess on the constituation of a new Parlt.
