OMG that broadcast is one of the most inspired pieces of comms I've seen in a while. Well done Conservatives and Boris. I would really love to know if they came up with that before or after the Hugh Grant PR (I would guess before as I have also used that exact technique for some of my own comms this year). However Hugh has given them an early Christmas gift with his campaigning.

megan yes I agree experiences of non-UK hospitals are purely anecdotal, but also helpful to add to the convo for those of us who have lived overseas. I will add that my one experience of A&E in the UK when I broke my foot, was fast and efficient. I was plastered at 3am and then the next day came back to the fracture clinic and was put in a boot, and then 12 weeks after that I had a fully working foot again. So I can't complain about that either.

What will today bring - I have just had a look at that Welsh polling. Most interesting. People need to get out and vote now, I really hope no-one is being complacent.

There may be heavy rain and blustery wind out there but here in the Arms, the fire blazes in the snug and radiates gentle warmth through to the bar. Leave your umbrellas in the stand near the door and join us for the Arms' legendary complimentary breakfast. This morning, it's eggs sunny side up and Cumberland or Lincolnshire sausages with mounds of buttery toast and lashings of tea or coffee.

After a bumpy start yesterday, our runners and riders are jockeying for position as they near the home straight. The bookies’ favourite, Blue Christmas, maintains its lead at 1/5 while the challenger Corbynski veers to the left at a steady Trot down to 33/1. Rank outsider Head Girl Jo, flounders at 500/1 and appears to be facing the wrong direction altogether.

Betting closes at 10pm Thursday.
