I read a post on Twitter from an nurse at the hospital in Leeds. The 4 year old child was admitted and seen within 20 minutes. He was on a trolley, but his mother took him off the trolley to place him on the floor, and take a photograph.

Apparently.

No idea Walking - I just saw the nurse's post, and various other people are now commenting on it, that they've seen/heard the same.

Boris was very clumsy in his handling of it with the reporter - makes me wonder if he knew it was being looked in to as 'fake news', which is why he didn't want to dwell on it? Double questioning everything at the moment - roll on Friday!

There have been serious doubts in the Singing household all evening. Why would any hospital allow a sick child to lie on the floor, covered by a coat?

I don't doubt the poor child was genuinely sick but children are not political props.

Spidey senses tingling that it may be fake news. The hospital would have health and safety risk assessments. No parent in their right mind would put their sick child on the floor especially with all the super bugs in hospitals. After the reddit Russia documents it's hard to believe anything 🤔

I think there need to be some serious apologies and quick retractions of whoever is spreading these lies. The picture of the sick child was NOT faked, the chief medical officer of the hospital apologised to the family for the situation. The fake account claiming it was lies has been posted by multiple sock puppet accounts across twitter and facebook.

What sort of person would disseminate fake information about a mum and sick kid in a busy hospital?

FWIW, I'm a doctor and I barely reacted to the picture because stuff like that is becoming so commonplace. We have trolleys lining the corridors every day now, shifts start with "we have minus 23 beds" at handover. It's not even proper winter.

Senior journalists also lied and have had to apologise about "labour activists bussed in and attacked Hancock's adviser". They repeated "Tory sources said" without verifying.

This is dystopian from the media.
