Xing, I think that poster may be referring to Germany and if so, I can only say that our own experience of the German healthcare system is far less favourable. DH is German and has lived in UK since 2014 this time, previously from 2006 to 2010, Germany in between and for much of the time before although with stints in many other EU and non-EU countries. I have lived in Germany for four years in the 80's and 8 years in the noughties. We've lived/worked in other EU and non-EU countries too, not always together even when we were married.
He had healthcare through his employer has a list of healthcare failings to rival many of the stories we hear about the NHS. He had to wait 3 weeks for an appointment with an eye doctor (who he saw many times), he was prescribed blood pressure tablets for over 20 years without the doctor checking whether they were appropriate dosage (they weren't) and now has the eye problems in part because of that. He has an operation on his heel which the health insurance insisted was done without an overnight stay in spite of him having no-one at home to care for him and the recovery took years because of that - he is still angry whenever it is mentioned. He was also on blood thinners for decades without the dosage being checked - unheard of here. Since 2014 we've worked through these various health problems with our lovely NHS GP and he's in pretty good nick at the moment.
I am not for one second saying that the NHS doesn't need massive injection of funds - it clearly does. But these tales you hear about how much better things are in other countries are not everyone's experience, they are anecdotal.

Camel Valley Sparkling Wine? We have cases of the stuff, laid in by a previous Landlady who clearly labelled it "Do Not Open Until 2300 hours GMT on 29 March 2016". I don't know why it's still there but it should be all right to drink. The cellar is a constant 6°C.
