The closing date for registration is this Tuesday

The weekend has seen the leaders question time debates.

Johnson failed to answer a question and the BBC edited later edited footage to change laughter at him to applause.

Swinson continues to prove that the Lib Dem campaign planners don't understand the electorate. They based the campaign around her and the more the public see her and the more she opens her gob she proves she's the witless headgirl who really knows fuck all.

Corbyn has now adopted a neutral 2nd referendum position. Far too late.

Jo Johnson apparently said that a good election manifesto is one people aren’t talking about 48 hrs later, and it seems that the Conservatives really have gone for that strategy.

Johnson had promised a manifesto for change yet of the three main parties it seems far from that. It avoids controversy for the most part, but also doesn't offer solutions to some of our biggest problems like social care. But with the Tories so ahead in the polls, the status quo and making sure they don't have a repeat of the 'dementia tax' car crash seems to be the order of the day. Because Brexit is going to going to provide a magic solution instead...

Meanwhile the Labour Party have gone completely the other way and really have gone for it and come up with ideas. With a mixed response from the public and press.

And I still can't tell you what is in the LD one, cos Prince Andrew...

This week should see the election come into focus as postal voting starts. As it stands its hard to bet on anything but a Tory majority.

Same here tobee, I’d much rather see them lulled into a false sense of security.

ListeningQuietly · 25/11/2019 20:14

A Pro Brexit Tory elected member friend is campaigning to help the homeless where they live
Irony fail that they cannot link their own policies to the outcomes

TorchesTorches · 25/11/2019 20:15

Just watched the Andrew Neil interview of Nicola Sturgeon. She was pretty good on the have of an onslaught from him. I hope he is the same to Johnson. And i will be interested to see if he talks all over male interviewees, or if he just does it to wmen.

nothingwittyhere · 25/11/2019 20:24

Re: the polls, could the Tories be gaming them in some way? They have millions in donations to play with and the Brexity wing has form for dishonestly manipulating the media.

Random18 · 25/11/2019 20:29

Derxa you're on form tonight.

All the best scottish words / phrases!

That's another one I have used once or twice 🤣

placemats · 25/11/2019 20:29

They have millions in donations but it means not a jot when it comes to electoral spending.

They can walk around the place as if they own it and lord it up with their millions. But there are strict rules in place.

Not on Facebook there aren't

Alsohuman · 25/11/2019 20:45

Looks like Raab’s having a bad time. Hustings packed to overflowing with Libdems and his predecessor (previous Tory MP) advised voters to vote LibDem this time round. Shame.

PeninsulaPanic · 25/11/2019 20:50

@ListeningQuietly

The Evening Standard are currently running a fundraising appeal called 'Help Our Homeless'.

No prizes for naming the former austerity chancellor (estimated personal fortune of around £4 million) who happens to be the ES editor.

Just sayin' Angry

I am following Lewis Goodall's (Sky News) tweets from the hustings in Dominic Raabs constituency (sad I know !). Seems to be a fair few angry remainers there and security are not allowing Harry Dunn's family into the venue which is not good.

Violetparis · 25/11/2019 20:58

Cross post Alsohuman Smile

Alsohuman · 25/11/2019 21:00

Yes, excluding Harry Dunn’s parents is madness. Apparently a man left so his dad could go in and Raab’s goons still wouldn’t let him in.

Violetparis · 25/11/2019 21:07

Alsohuman hopefully Sky News will speak to Harry Dunn's family and it is shown on TV.

SunnyUplandsOhNoTurnipSoup · 25/11/2019 21:07

Been watching iPlayer. Documentary on UK post a no deal Brexit. My mistake, it's War of the Worlds 😁

Violetparis · 25/11/2019 21:14

Like the Topple a Tory poster DGRGrin

colouringinpro · 25/11/2019 21:15

Lots of people voting Tory on the "General Election - how are you voting thread" Sad

BigChocFrenzy · 25/11/2019 21:23

"I know BCF disagrees, Hmm but I believe the EU would prefer for us to be more closely aligned "

I don't disagree, MrsL
I've always said the EU would like a close relationship post-Brexit, just that they won't damage their SM to do so

I've said almost countries gave up hoping for Remain some months ago and just want either of the WAs passed,
to avoid a crash out on Brexit Day - but a WA looks almost certain now, whether a Tory or Labour / GNU one

I'm a rough agricultural type. We speak a different language down here.

BigChocFrenzy · 25/11/2019 21:30

If I may be forgiven for returning to the sheep theme:

I loved the student vets calendar - the photo with sheep hiding their modesty

Unfortunately vegans objected to it - even though the sheep were live and just being "tipped" - and got it banned Sad

One of these lads might turn up soon at a farm near you, derxa
This is to help you recognise them later: Grin

Ellie56 · 25/11/2019 21:33

I'd like to topple a few Tories. Smug bastards. Angry

That report from the hospital doctor is truly shocking.

mrslaughan · 25/11/2019 21:33

Sorry BCF- I thought you felt they would not renegotiate under any circumstances.....my apologies

derxa · 25/11/2019 21:40

BCF Grin
'Tipped' to me is term that means that that the tip (ram) has covered the ewe. Boris has 'tipped' many a ewe in his time Grin

BigChocFrenzy · 25/11/2019 21:40

"Jo Swinson’s latest gem is to describe Waspi women as wanting something for nothing"

This kind of stupidity and insult is what turns me against Swinson, not her damn voice
alsohuman I also hope she loses her seat - she is imo the most likely big name in any party to be Portilloed.

I could accept a normal polite refusal, something like
"I sympathise with WASPI women, but there are so many urgent calls on the exchequer that I'm afraid we can't find the budget for compensation"

Why did she have to insult WASPIs ? Confused
(who include me)

What with the self-ID bollocks and now the insult to older women, I'm beginning to suspect she doesn't really like other women much - maybe not unless they are young and / or really men
