The Brexit Party aren't doing one.

The Labour Party apparently can't afford theirs.

The Conservatives will just lie anyway.

And the LDs got upstaged by Prince Andrew's resignation from royal duties for being a fuckwit.

3 weeks to go...

PMK, thanks as always to all you commentators who beat the MSM hands down.

Tactical voting currently tells me to vote Lab, which I'm quite happy to do on the basis that BJ and mates are cunts, but will be keeping a very close eye - 3 weeks to go and I think it's going to be a bit of a ride.

Peregrina · 21/11/2019 19:53

they will afford them nationalisation.
As far as the railways are concerned, just let the existing franchises expire.

GeistohneGrenzen · 21/11/2019 19:55

ArseDarkly · 21/11/2019 19:59

Can't believe there's still 3 weeks to go, seems endless..

HoneyandSpice · 21/11/2019 20:00

Disgusted as usual at Tory antics of late. Even more despicable than the norm.

Definitely voting Labour this time. For the first time (previously Lib Dem, Green in 1989 aged 18)

My Labour MP has done so much for our area (as has the EU for our City, but none of the Brexit frothers see or remember that)

I just can’t believe the dirty - no, filthy - tricks the Tories are pulling in the election campaign. Small wonder people don’t trust politicians.

As far as the railways are concerned, existing franchises expire.

Actually that's true. Though Only about half the franchises will expire during the next parliamentary term. What about the other half?

Also - on our line at least - the vast majority of delays are caused by faults on the lines - signalling and infrastructure problems. That is a network rail problem, which is already owned by the government.

KanelbulleKing · 21/11/2019 20:35

My cat needs to be added to that video. He goes nuts when the printer whirs. He so wants to catch whatever is living inside it.

If you read Private Eye, The Economist or the Business pages you'll know that DaFT has had to bail out and 'flex' the terms on pretty much all franchises most years to cover up their failure.

All an incoming Labour government needs to do is rigidly apply the rules and every franchise will be handed back within two years at no cost Grin

No debating skills.

No clue.
He’s just a non starter.

The amount of tax they would have to raise to fund that is huge - and these people are mobile. I believe if this came in DH office would be moved somewhere in Europe - in a heartbeat

Surely the best argument for us staying in the EU. Multinationals might be OK with ditching the lil ol' UK, but I can't see them pulling their operations out of the EU. The best way to ensure Amazon and their ilk play ball is to deal with them as a bloc.

thecatfromjapan · 21/11/2019 21:01

I'm willing to bet it's still less expensive/less of a drag on the economy than Brexit. 🤷‍♀️

@Hasenstein
Yes - DH office would just get moved somewhere in Europe ...... they are an international business.
I passionately believe we should stay in the EU as a country, but I am not sure how that helps achieveLabours aims- if the vast majority of the top 1-5% of income earners relocate to Europe to avoid pecuniary income tax. (Top 1% of income earners is anyone earning over £120000) - and there is surprisingly few of them......

ListeningQuietly · 21/11/2019 21:12

Which countries in Europe - that have good jobs markets - have lower gross tax rates than the UK ?

Peregrina · 21/11/2019 21:14

Yup, that's the Tory party manifesto - couldn't put it clearer.

Alsohuman · 21/11/2019 21:23

Tory manifesto in a nutshell.

mrslaughan · 21/11/2019 21:24

@ListeningQuietly labour have not said what they will raise those taxes too....... but what they are proposing will be hugely hugely expensive. To afford it - tax rates will go up hugely. So what taxes are now is irrelevant.

From what I see this goes beyond socialism- where people are allowed to be wealthy, but nobody should be poor - to not allowing anyone to be wealthy.......

ListeningQuietly · 21/11/2019 21:26

mrslaughan
If tax rates go up to Nordic levels will that be such a bad thing ?
It works fine in the Nordic countries after all .......

At least Labour plan to fund things without orchards full of magic money trees like Sajid does
