I'm guessing HoC have agreed to a GE?
Please confirm and a date if poss.

Thanks. And phew if it's true

dirtyrottenscoundrel · 29/10/2019 20:31

Yes.
12th December.

HateIsNotGood · 29/10/2019 20:33

TFFforThat.

Movement at last. I'll be back soon.

notangelinajolie · 29/10/2019 20:34

I have to say all sides of the house look mightily relieved.

GreenishMe · 29/10/2019 20:35

I hope Jezza doesn't sneak in by accident now

Well hopefully there are many more like myself who are prepared to leave Labour in order to Leave the EU :)

Walkingdeadfangirl · 29/10/2019 20:35

Only 2 more days left for Berkcow, Letwin, and hopefully Grieve as well.
Its party time this Halloween.

DustyDiamond · 29/10/2019 20:36

Just seen this on twitter:

438 votes for an early election today when Boris Johnson only needed 320.

The number of votes needed yesterday under the FTPA? 434.

ARGH.

This is exactly the sort of thing that has been fucking infuriating about this game-playing Parliament...

They wasted a whole day today wanking on about something they could have easily passed yesterday 🙄🙄

And Soubry & Boles

Walkingdeadfangirl · 29/10/2019 20:39

Dusty, that's a perfect example of the crap MPs have been pulling.

guesswhatteapot · 29/10/2019 20:40

If the Torys don't win a majority in the GE can they form a coalition with the Brexit party?

Bearbehind · 29/10/2019 20:41

Yet you’ve voted for these fuckwits to ‘take back control’ 🤔

This alone will make it all worthwhile!

DustyDiamond · 29/10/2019 20:42

It's very high stakes now - no Tory win means no Brexit....

Hollycatberry · 29/10/2019 20:42

An election campaign vid has already been released on Corbyns twitter account, looks like Labour have been mobilising behind the scenes for the election they demand but didn’t want to vote for Hmm

The video focuses on how they’ve forced the Tories back on a number of policies. Brexit is only mentioned about half way through, so clearly that’s their strategy to minimise focus on it. I detest this current version of Labour but I think their strategy will work well on younger voters, Tory haters and some remain voters.

The Tories will need to campaign well to get a majority imo. There needs to be some look forward to what kind of country we’re going to be post brexit to get people out to vote.

Walkingdeadfangirl · 29/10/2019 20:43

Oh yes, the end of that Soubry sulking face. Definitely worth it.

DustyDiamond · 29/10/2019 20:44

😂

I'm mostly pleased that this Parliament is being jettisoned

I'd have much preferred the WAB to have passed first because it could all be over for Brexit if BJ loses - but this Parliament was toxic & damaging

Epicwaffle · 29/10/2019 20:44

“It's very high stakes now - no Tory win means no Brexit....”

Slight breather for now, but it’s going to be very tense in mid december!

dirtyrottenscoundrel · 29/10/2019 20:45

See the anti brexit mob will have to vote for that really annoying libdem woman.
Northern leavers will vote brexit party thus damaging labour, ( they never voted Tory anyway ) which means Boris should walk it.

According to Swinson younger voters wont be able to vote because they will be paralysed moving home from uni. Confused

frumpety · 29/10/2019 20:46

Part of me wonders whether the Conservatives would actually like there to be a hung Parliament, shares the load of Brexit, given it is entirely of their doing, this whole debacle ?
Shared load = shared responsibility, quite clever when you think about it.

DustyDiamond · 29/10/2019 20:47

😂😂

YY Walking

Because all young people are at university, and all are Remainers... apparently.... according to LibDem/Labour

sunglasses123 · 29/10/2019 20:47

Does anyone think Labour will win the GE by default? I am hoping for a Conservative landslide but fear it might be a hung parliament.

I do seriously wonder why Labour would consider keeping Corbyn in bearing in mind his ratings in the polls.

Epicwaffle · 29/10/2019 20:47

And I’m taking a pen. I remember watching people physically rubbing out votes live on tv during the count in 2016.
