Quite coincidentally I too have been in negotiations today regarding the pubs licence and it's good news here as well, a deal has been agreed!!

There were no amendments or legal objections put forward so a shiny new licence has been issued and normal service can be resumed Smile

Same rules apply.

Now let's hope Saturday's proceedings can go ahead without the usual dicking around and that what has been nigh on impossible during the last 3 years, a majority, can be achieved otherwise I feel we are off to hell in a handcart!

First drink is on the house 🍻🍷🍻🍷Cheers

What’s in it for them you have to ask?

Hmmm....

BertrandRussell · 21/10/2019 16:06

Bercow was simply taking control of our parliamentary procedures. As is his job.

bellinisurge · 21/10/2019 16:09

Maybe if Johnson hadn't dicked everyone about so much we wouldn't have had the Letwin amendment and the WA 2.0 would have gone through. Being an untrustworthy shit has consequences. These are they.

Walkingdeadfangirl · 21/10/2019 16:16

As expected berkcow has denied MPs the right to vote on the Boris deal. Shameful. How low can remainers sink demanding a 2nd referendum for MPs to ignore but refusing MPs a say.

Its either revoke or Brexit is not allowed. How many Jackboots can be stamped on democracy?

dirtyrottenscoundrel · 21/10/2019 16:20

We’re living in a corrupt country - I mean I know all countries are to a certain extent, but I thought we were better than most.
Turns out we’re worse.

Sunnyuplands · 21/10/2019 16:20

It's extraordinary.
It really is. These are exceptional circumstances.. It's excuriating.
. He's leaving his role and is determined to fly in the face of democracy.

It's disgusting. The arrogance of the man.

Bertrand, bercow is supposed to be neutral. Can you explain the bollocks to brexit sticker in his car and the other decisions he has made?

Do posters really think any conduct is OK as long as its what suits thier side to win?

Sunnyuplands · 21/10/2019 16:21

Dirty I agree.
This is what happens in places like Zimbabwe. Faux parliaments, faux votes...

Then doing what they actually want...

BertrandRussell · 21/10/2019 16:23

I hold no brief for Bercow. But he could not allow this vote under parliamentary procedures.

Walkingdeadfangirl · 21/10/2019 16:30

I hold no brief for Berkcow. But he could not allow this vote under parliamentary procedures
What a load of b*ocks. Berkcow could have allowed a vote if he had wanted, he seems happy to ignore 'parliamentary procedures' when remainers ask him to. He doesn't even bother to pretend to be impartial anymore, is is a tin pot dictator.

howabout · 21/10/2019 16:30

All started with the dicking around when both factions of the Tories decided to appoint May instead of having an open an honest debate with their membership followed by a GE based on their proposals.

Labour similarly saying 2 opposite things at the same time for 3 years didn't help but would have been exposed if the Tories had had a Leadership contest and full manifesto on proposed Deal prior to triggering Art 50.

Sunnyuplands · 21/10/2019 16:33

Trust in bercow is shot to pieces.
He has received advise on this.
From whom.
Where does he get his advise because on some days his advisers tell him he can use 17th century laws, protocol, on issues that benefit remain and yet those laws cannot be used when it may benefit brexit?

Rather, not benefit brexit but upholds democracy..
Jack boots all over it. Trust is gone.

howabout · 21/10/2019 16:34

Worst of it is that MPs are complicit. They could depose Bercow any time they chose. All the Newsnight allegations about his personal conduct ought to have been enough to force a resignation pending investigation in normal circs.

DustyDiamond · 21/10/2019 16:34

Dirty, walking & Sunny - I agree with everything you've said

dirtyrottenscoundrel · 21/10/2019 16:35

If I’d voted remain I’d be disgusted with all this, & I know many are.
I hope the EU screws us to the wall.

DustyDiamond · 21/10/2019 16:36

And Howabout

(Missed your post when I was writing mine!)

BertrandRussell · 21/10/2019 16:36

His personal behaviour is potentially reprehensible. But his job is to enforce parliamentary procedures. Which he has done.

BertrandRussell · 21/10/2019 16:38

“ he seems happy to ignore 'parliamentary procedures' when remainers ask him to.”
Is he? When?

Sunnyuplands · 21/10/2019 16:38

Walking, what incentive is there for bercow to behave in any way at all?. He's outta there. This is his shining moment...

Walkingdeadfangirl · 21/10/2019 16:41

But his job is to enforce parliamentary procedures. Which he has done
Which he ONLY does when it favours ripping up the democratic votes of 17.4 million
As Berkcow said himself, "'If we were guided only by precedent, manifestly nothing in our procedures would ever change"

time4chocolate · 21/10/2019 16:43

Parliament vs People goes from strength to strength

I think politicians call it 'legacy'. He is trying to build a celeb brand to milk the cash cow after he is chucked out of parliament retires.

howabout · 21/10/2019 16:50

Yep already started on the US promo circuit. They love a pompous ass to laugh at over there.

54321go · 21/10/2019 16:59

But 17.4 million have not said what they want. they have said 17.4 million versions of what they don't want, and mostly for spurious reasons that are not actually dependent on being in or out of the EU.
I can guarantee you won't like it when you get Brexit.

BercowsFlyingFlamingo · 21/10/2019 17:02

Man does his job shocker 😱

GhostofFrankGrimes · 21/10/2019 17:09

Brexiteers argued they wanted parliamentary sovereignty returned. The last 3 years have been fine examples on exercising parliamentary sovereignty.
