Quite coincidentally I too have been in negotiations today regarding the pubs licence and it's good news here as well, a deal has been agreed!!

There were no amendments or legal objections put forward so a shiny new licence has been issued and normal service can be resumed Smile

Same rules apply.

Now let's hope Saturday's proceedings can go ahead without the usual dicking around and that what has been nigh on impossible during the last 3 years, a majority, can be achieved otherwise I feel we are off to hell in a handcart!

First drink is on the house 🍻🍷🍻🍷Cheers

With you on Caroline Flint Dusty.

Bearbehind · 18/10/2019 10:08

😂 dusty

BJ is going to spin this like crazy - if MPs don’t pass this deal tomorrow he’ll be the hero who did his best for the people but that was thwarted by the establishment, which will win him the GE

If it does pass, it’s hard Brexit with still the threat of no deal. And I’m sure it will lead to trouble in NI again anyway

Bloody marvellous

howabout · 18/10/2019 10:18

Bear why do you think trouble in NI? Despite the fire and fury from all sides the Deal leaves NI uniquely in UK and EU SM and CU and gets rid of border checks on the Island. It also very neatly extracts NI from the trade deal negotiations because they get both or either at their choosing.

My reading is that the Deal might actually start to depolarise NI politics a bit. I could be wrong which is why I'm asking?

Bearbehind · 18/10/2019 10:21

I’ve never thought that making NII the scapegoat for us not having the sunlit upland Brexit Leavers thought was possible, would end well.

The DUP and their supporters aren’t just going to accept this if they are out voted are they?

twofingerstoEverything · 18/10/2019 10:28

I do admire Bregretters who are brave enough to say they were conned. Can't be easy.

DustyDiamond · 18/10/2019 10:34

🤮

I watched that earlier - the swelling, schmaltzy music was a particularly eye-rolly touch

twofingerstoEverything · 18/10/2019 11:07

maybe this one will be more to your taste Dusty. Just a straightforward video of a well-known, lying hypocrite. This is the person you're placing your faith in.

HateIsNotGood · 18/10/2019 11:14

I'm making my punt (327) on the Labour MPs in Leave areas. The current Labour 'mantra' that voting for the deal means voting away 'worker's rights' is a red herring - it's up to Parliament to keep the 'rights' and standards we already have (agriculture, environment, etc) and furthermore add to and strengthen them.

For the LibDems who say this isn't Brexit done, it's just the beginning of years of negotiations - well, yes thanks, we know that already, but we can't move on to those parts until this bit is done.

The EU want this to pass too - they are sick of the uncertainty and the negative impacts on them - and I think it's quite unfair of us to fanny around any more.

howabout · 18/10/2019 11:24

Agree with all of that Hate.

Bear I think Dan Hodges has nailed the problem with your analysis:

"Remainers are now pinning their hopes on convincing people they care more about the EU than Juncker and Barnier, they care more about the Good Friday Agreement than Varadkar and they care more about the integrity of the Single Market than Merkel. Good luck with that..."

54321go · 18/10/2019 11:25

When you leavers have got your Brexit, what are you going to do with it?
In a year's time how will you rate it's success? Indeed how will you measure it's success?

dirtyrottenscoundrel · 18/10/2019 11:27

We’ll let you know in a years time.

DustyDiamond · 18/10/2019 11:28

David Cameron likening Boris Johnson to a 'greased piglet' 😳😳

Cameron is obsessed with pigs 🤮

howabout · 18/10/2019 11:44

Success for me was David Cameron resigning closely followed by George Osborne getting sacked.

Any sort of Brexit makes it very very difficult for the SNP to sell Indy. So that is another win.

As all the Lexiters I follow this morning are pointing out there is everything to play for in the trade negotiation and future relationship. Therefore it will be domestic choices in a GE which determine the UK's future path. That also counts as a win for me.

If we manage to rub along with the EU while the trade relationship evolves that is a win.

If we start treating EU and non-EU migrants to the the UK on the same basis that is a win.

If we all stop being obsessed with Brexit and start sorting out the UK rather than blaming the EU that is a win.

Sunnyuplands · 18/10/2019 13:25

Another huge fan of Frank field.

I really can't take anymore of the same nonsense trotted out... Chukka made me feel sick this morning. Trotting out same rubbish. Corybn and his.... Selling off UK assets to America...

All these ships have sailed. Old hat.
Get with the bloody program.

Sunnyuplands · 18/10/2019 13:26

Hilarious corybn meme dusty. Grin

bellinisurge · 18/10/2019 14:30

If you still think this is a Tory vs Labour thing you are missing the very large point.

Walkingdeadfangirl · 18/10/2019 15:21

We have to invite Boris into the Brexit Arms for several free drinks.

He went over to Brussels banged a few heads together, chucked the backstop in the bin and slapped a new deal down on the table. The man gets things done.

If MPs ambush the deal tomorrow I think Boris will emerge with more of the public behind him. Its time to get this deal DONE.

bellinisurge · 18/10/2019 15:39

Yes, do invite the little dear Hmm

Walkingdeadfangirl · 18/10/2019 15:52

Remainers really hate that Boris got a deal, exposes all those MPs as liars who pretended they were 'only' trying to stop a no deal.

I bet a new excuse will be used to try and stop it now. Maybe, "we have to stop the deal because the new deal is no deal in disguise".

Or maybe "we have to stop the deal because it forces us to eat chlorinated chicken".

Or maybe, "will some body think of the children..."

Buy that man a drink.

BertrandRussell · 18/10/2019 15:59

Do Leavers think this is a good deal? Is it better than May’s?

I have to confess that I have rather lost the plot over the past few days and feel as if it’s being discussed in a language I don’t understand.

bellinisurge · 18/10/2019 15:59

Given that he "got" the deal which the EU offered TM three years ago and he made massive concessions to get it, yes, didn't he do well?😂😂😂

billysboy · 18/10/2019 16:00

an interesting 24 hours ahead but whichever way it goes it will only be the start of the negotiating

Walkingdeadfangirl · 18/10/2019 16:07

Do Leavers think this is a good deal? Is it better than May’s?
Best I can understand is that it is a good deal. It is actually leaving the EU, unlike Mays which seemed to be Brexit in name only. It is a compromise between remain and no dealers. It gets Brexit done. If we dont accept this deal the EU will not negotiate for a third time.

So its the best we are going to get. I hope MPs step up to the plate.

Notthebloodymustardcushion · 18/10/2019 16:20

Hey guys, pleased the atmosphere has improved, hopefully I won’t kill it, but I suspect I’m going to get flamed.

I’m really really truly sorry. For all of the research I did, into brexit, and all of my genuine non xenophobic open minded reasons for voting for it, I just didn’t comprehend or realise the full strength of feeling from Scotland and the issues around NI.

I am so worried that we are going to lose Scotland and NI, maybe even Wales, as the talk is ramping up in that direction currently, in fact there is even an AIBU thread running about it. That is honestly something I never fully considered or wanted. Boy, I really wish I had considered it. I am not a little Englander, I voted in the genuine belief that we could become more prosperous and progressive (going forward as a whole union) together and if we were all on board, I still believe that would be the case. The reality however is, that we are not all on board. And that’s just not ok. Sad I want to keep our amazing UK union so much more than I want Brexit (and I want that badly), and I honestly cannot believe I am going to say this, because I have been so against it until now, but I think, based on that, I want a second referendum and I am leaning towards a remain position now.

Fuck. There it is, I said it.

Well, I am prepared to get flamed hard now 🔥, but I wanted to be honest with you all on my changing position, because for all our differences, I do think the one thing we can all probably agree on, is how amazing the UK is, and it’s individual countries and people. And how desperately sad it would be to lose that forever. As much as I want Brexit, none of it is worth that imho. Sad

If you want to show me the door, I will understand, but there you have it anyway.

I just want all you Johnson fans to drink in the stupidity of this:😂😂😂

'Dominic Raab hails a “cracking deal” for Northern Ireland because it will keep “frictionless access to the single market”'

This is your man's foreign secretary.

First Faridge lobbied for the Benn Act, then Raab celebrates the single market.

You couldn't make this up.
