Quite coincidentally I too have been in negotiations today regarding the pubs licence and it's good news here as well, a deal has been agreed!!

There were no amendments or legal objections put forward so a shiny new licence has been issued and normal service can be resumed Smile

Same rules apply.

Now let's hope Saturday's proceedings can go ahead without the usual dicking around and that what has been nigh on impossible during the last 3 years, a majority, can be achieved otherwise I feel we are off to hell in a handcart!

First drink is on the house 🍻🍷🍻🍷Cheers

It's awful isn't it Sunny

It's on Paul Embery's twitter.

Neome · 20/10/2019 21:11

Do you think there's a chance things really will get nasty? Over the last few months I've heard a handful of people (on Lbc talking to Nigel Farage) convinced it could really happen.

Sunnyuplands · 20/10/2019 21:11

That first link doesn't work but second one does.
It needs playing on repeat on every news channel with interviews..

Boris is a liar we can't trust him.
Like kier this morning on Andrew marr.

How can they square this with their consciousness. Confused

DustyDiamond · 20/10/2019 21:12

Carry On Brexit 😂

"Do you get it hard, soft, or not at all?!"

Brexit Arms pop up pops up again!
Sunnyuplands · 20/10/2019 21:19

Neome

When government turns its back on democratic avenues and people want something I'd say yes.

It's very worrying. Unlike our continental friends the English don't get riled up easily but wow.. Imagine if this was France??

I'm middle aged working mum and I'm absolutely furious.
I voted to leave the eu in good faith.

Why isn't this happening?

They are playing with fire...

Sunnyuplands · 20/10/2019 21:21

All of this sounds more like Zimbabwe or somewhere than great Britain. How can they have no shame??

DustyDiamond · 20/10/2019 21:24

If Brexit is successfully blocked or we go to 2nd ref then I really think it might Neome.

Brexit is an emotive issue, and so is our notion of freedom via democracy

There's been a gradual ratcheting up of disdain for the Leave vote over the last 3 & half years with court action & Parliament chicanery driven by people who think they're better than the plebs.

The shouty, extreme Remain contingent are the ones who have sharp elbowed their way into being 'the remain representatives' and overwhelmingly seem to be middle class

They've sneered at, slagged off & caricatured leavers at every opportunity & people don't take kindly to that - it pisses ordinary people off

So I do think if our vote is stolen because of anti-Brexit wankery then there'll be trouble

DustyDiamond · 20/10/2019 21:29

I'm middle aged working mum and I'm absolutely furious.

I'm 44, working class with a couple of teenage boys (between jobs currently)

I'm absolutely furious too

I've never been on a demo or protest in my life but I'll be out on the streets if Brexit is overturned

dirtyrottenscoundrel · 20/10/2019 21:31

Remainers are overwhelmingly white middle class. Did you see the march?
Speaks volumes.

Sunnyuplands · 20/10/2019 21:35

Me too dusty

I've never been out on the the streets marching but I will if something major happens now and lots of people like you, me will be.

time4chocolate · 20/10/2019 21:44

That’s a very good link Dusty

History books haven’t been written yet but when they are it’s not going to be in the direction that a large proportion of politicians/ hardcore remain supporters assume it will.

There is and will continue to be mental gymnastics and justification a plenty but it is/will continue to be bollocks.

There are nowt so blind as those who will not see.

DustyDiamond · 20/10/2019 21:50

History will refer to the Rogue Parliament I think Time4

They do seem to be overwhelmingly white middle class, yes

I'd wager that there'd be very few witty placards & hormone-injected, chlorinated face paints in any demos if Brexit is overturned - lots of anger though

dirtyrottenscoundrel · 20/10/2019 21:53

They won’t riot. They’ll just take all their anger out online to people who couldn’t give a toss.

frumpety · 20/10/2019 21:53

There are nowt so blind as those who will not see.

So ironic it's made me hum a tune Grin

Neome · 20/10/2019 21:54

I do find that quite frightening. I can hear how very angry some people feel. Perhaps it's silly but I am worried about what could happen. It seems as if things can get out of hand very quickly.

DustyDiamond · 20/10/2019 22:01

It'll def be a mass carnage in the next GE if nothing else

One of my pals has been selected as a Brexit Party candidate for next GE - he's standing against Nicky Morgan

dirtyrottenscoundrel · 20/10/2019 22:02

You can’t riot whilst holding an M&S prawn sandwich and a bottle of fiji artesian water.

Just can’t be done.

DustyDiamond · 20/10/2019 22:03

😂

dirtyrottenscoundrel · 20/10/2019 22:03

Oh that’s very exciting Dusty.

DustyDiamond · 20/10/2019 22:06

This is him

frumpety · 20/10/2019 22:07

Riot season in the UK is in the Summer, most rioters are young and wear denim, no fun in the cold and wet, chafes something awful denim when wet. Can I recommend a liberal application of vaseline or something similar to the backs of knees , thighs and groins and waist area should the sudden urge for a spot of civil unrest take you. I know MN usually frowns on the wearing of harem pants , but really if you are serious about partaking in a riot they should be the trouser of choice, in a nice cotton if possible, man made fibres being too flammable if making or being in the vicinity of a molotov cocktail. Cotton leisure wear would be another acceptable alternative, a tiny bit of lycra is useful if your protest involves sitting, nothing worse than the baggy knee look. Well I say nothing worse, obviously Brexit will be worse, but there is no need to look shabby and 80's as well Grin

frumpety · 20/10/2019 22:10

Accessorise with a nice leather across body bag ( again to due lack of flammability and you need somewhere to keep snacks, hungry work lobbing missiles and chanting and running amok ) and Brexit party button badge and you are good to go Smile

DustyDiamond · 20/10/2019 22:11

I'll probs just take my old MTPs & combat boots Frumpety - fear not!

They've been well used in all climates & cope remarkably well in all scenarios - comfort and camouflage!!

DustyDiamond · 20/10/2019 22:15

Still got webbing & my helmet kicking about somewhere too - and my old gas mask to protect from the CS

Totes prepped for action 😘

time4chocolate · 20/10/2019 22:16

So ironic it's made me hum a tune grin

Do explain further Frumpety, have you seen the video link? you think that’s ok and I shouldn’t have a problem with any of that? That’s all very democratic in your eyes is it?

Do tell me what I am blind to?
