Quite coincidentally I too have been in negotiations today regarding the pubs licence and it's good news here as well, a deal has been agreed!!

There were no amendments or legal objections put forward so a shiny new licence has been issued and normal service can be resumed Smile

Same rules apply.

Now let's hope Saturday's proceedings can go ahead without the usual dicking around and that what has been nigh on impossible during the last 3 years, a majority, can be achieved otherwise I feel we are off to hell in a handcart!

First drink is on the house 🍻🍷🍻🍷Cheers

I tend to just ignore them Greenish 😊

I think I'm going to have to do that too. They seem to jackboot their way into conversations halfway through without reading back.....and then come out with meaningless comments or silly comparisons about house surveys and quitting jobs. Eh?? Really strange.

I don't need more confusion in my life Grin

Leo V discussing helping Boris to build his actual bridge across the Irish Sea. Even offering to contribute to paying for it.

Nippy would spontaneously combust Grin

“ They seem to jackboot their way into conversations ”
Blimey. Are you absolutely sure you wanted to say “jackboot”?

Hello again BR. You seem to keep farting in my direction and running off.....what exactly is your point this time?

Sunnyuplands · 20/10/2019 16:33

Blimey, cor guv.

What are you drinking Bertrand Russel?

A nice cup of interrogators tea?

DustyDiamond · 20/10/2019 16:55

Jackboot: a symbol of authoritarian rule

I think 'jackbooting in' is quite a succinct descriptor of posters who seem keen to police this thread

GreenishMe · 20/10/2019 17:15

Oh is that what he's supposed to be doing....policing the thread?? I did wonder why he?/she? kept joining the thread with absolutely nothing of any value to contribute.

I used to work in a shop where a guy regularly flung the door open and flashed at me and then ran off before I could call him a perv. Feels a bit like that, lol.

Great comparison Grin Greenish

Blimey. All I said was that I don’t want my government to make decisions based on “gut instinct”! But you all crack on. Just be aware that “jack booting” might be a more offensive term than you realise. Or, at least, I hope it is.......

Walkingdeadfangirl · 20/10/2019 18:29

Are remainers 'flashing' hard working people enjoying a quiet refreshment in the local Brexit Arms?

I think they need a jackboot thrown at them as they run to the EU to complain.

RufusthebewiIderedreindeer · 20/10/2019 18:35

I thought the brexit arms were for everyone...thats how they started at least

DustyDiamond · 20/10/2019 18:44

It still is!

But punters in the Arms don't take kindly to being policed or slagged off 🍷

time4chocolate · 20/10/2019 18:49

Rufus Remainers are of course welcome, but what isnt really in the spirit of the ‘Arms’ is to bomb through the door, drop your trousers with some personal/unnecessary shit and then run out (Miljah’s post last night is a prime example). It doesn't add anything to the discussion or the atmosphere. Not interested in that type of punter thanks.

Nippy would spontaneously combust

Suspect that the contents of Beaufort’s Dyke would remove the need for combustion to be spontaneous - maybe a nice bit of impact induced deflagration?

GreenishMe · 20/10/2019 20:14

This is the only place worth coming to. I've just seen some other threads and remember now why I stopped coming on MN. Nothing's changed since the vote was first taken.

They're like packs of hyenas tearing off bits of flesh....all piling in on anyone who holds a different view.

Vile Vile Vile

time4chocolate · 20/10/2019 20:31

I know we discussed this a bit a while back but I have been musing it a bit more in light of developments in last 24 hours and what is likely to happen in next 48. Given that BJ is ahead in the polls, the people v Parliament narrative is going to be very effective for him and his deal is going to be thwarted from all sides, is BJ at the point where he calls a VONC in himself to then force a GE and settle this once and for all?

OP posts:
Sunnyuplands · 20/10/2019 20:47

Oh thanks Bertrand for that enlightening post to us thick leavers.

As far as I'm aware, it means a boot that's good for marching and is also a symbol of nasty people who don't believe in democracy like stalin, Hitler, moa, North Korea and perhaps those people in Parliament who have lied and turned against democracy by trying to over turn a vote 17.4 million people went out and took in good Faith.

Pretty damn scary stuff for anyone who believes in democracy??

Sunnyuplands · 20/10/2019 20:48

Maybe time..

I just don't know. Is it worth the risk. Anymore delay we are heading into nasty waters.

dirtyrottenscoundrel · 20/10/2019 20:49

GreenishMe

Very few leavers post on mumsnet, it’s just not worth it. It’s a very pro remain site.

DustyDiamond · 20/10/2019 20:50

I stopped for the best part of a year as well Greenish - just couldn't be arsed anymore with the constant hectoring.

Nae clue Time4 - I shall be glued to the telly all week I think!
I don't think it'll be long til SNP break ranks & call VONC though - they're the only ones who aren't afraid of GE...

Just seen this on the Twitter (viewer discretion is advised if you have problems with your blood pressure)

Sunnyuplands · 20/10/2019 20:51

Dusty the link doesn't work what is it

DustyDiamond · 20/10/2019 20:55

Very few leavers post on mumsnet, it’s just not worth it

There literally just seems to be a handful !

I know it's a Remain heavy site, but I suspect most posters just keep their Brexit support quiet

It was carnage in the days & weeks after the result on here (same when Ed Miliband lost the GE - it's a huge echo chamber on MN)

Sunnyuplands · 20/10/2019 20:55

Just googled it can you try and link again it needs to be spammed everywhere.

How many times does kier starmer say, we need to expect the referendum result?? There will be no second referendum.

DustyDiamond · 20/10/2019 20:55

Hang on Sunny I'll try a different way...
