Brexit Arms - Pop Up

time4chocolate · 09/10/2019 18:16

Well I’m going to have a crack at this Landlady business and I’ve opened a pop up pubSmile.

Rules are:
Anything brexit related is up for discussion and even not Brexit related if you feel the need (so if you want to discuss Haemoroids that’s ok too Wink).

I’m ok with a bit of arseyness (it’s an emotive subject) but if you go full monty in here I reserve the right to withhold all alcoholic beverages.

I have reserved a quiet table for MNHQ if they want to pop in for a quiet drink (Happy Hour is 6-7pmSmile).

Haven’t properly caught up yet with today’s Brexit news yet but looks like we are finally facing end game, that said still plenty of days left for high jinks and holidays.

Anyone have any views on how they think the next few days will play out are welcome to voice here.

First drinks are on the house WineWine 🍻 Cheers

Our evil unelected Parliament trying to stop the fair and true dream of Brexit

They are elected yes. But the majority of them couldn’t give a fuck about what the people want and would happily revoke the referendum result.
If you think that’s a good thing then good for you, but I know many people who voted remain who aren’t happy with what’s going on.

We have a Parliamentary democracy @dirtyrottenscoundrel . That happens when MPs realise that something would be contrary to the public interest. Want to change it.

bellinisurge · 10/10/2019 07:43

Should be a question Want to change it? Followed by "with what?"

bellinisurge · 10/10/2019 07:45

Your saviour and darling Boris Johnson voted for the WA because it was in the public interest. That's how it works.

dirtyrottenscoundrel · 10/10/2019 08:01

‘The people’ have been played.
DC gave us an ‘in / out’ referendum, hoping ( & probably believing ) remain would win.

Leave won.
So all the remainers in power ( 80%) ran around like headless chickens for a few weeks wondering how the hell they could overturn it. And they’ve been doing it ever since. Because, it’s in their personal financial interest to stay in.

bellinisurge · 10/10/2019 08:24

Parliament election was after the referendum. You voted for these people to act in the national interest.

jasjas1973 · 10/10/2019 08:45

I think Bercow is giving back benchers a voice, he cannot decide the outcome of any vote.
He has turned down remain motions.

All this he is a colluding stuff is just what people do when they don't get their own way, so the Supreme court went against Johnson = they are traitors and Hale is a remainer & unfit for office because she wears a spider brooch!!!
Scottish court rules against BJ to send letter of extension = Leavers strangely quiet, however, remainers accept an impartial court decision.

We don't know what Bercow discussed, so the collusion stuff is just idle gossip.

MockersthefeMANist · 10/10/2019 09:02

Well I'm "The People," and I want to revoke, along with the majority of the other people who are The People, according to the polls.

...so maybe the people are the Enemies of The People. Brecht was right: The Party has no confidence in the people, and has decided to elect itself a new people.

dirtyrottenscoundrel · 10/10/2019 09:12

It’s getting like the life of Brian on here.

Nobody thinks "Good Old Boris." Not his sister, his brother or his dad. They all know what a tosspot he is and we should follow their wise advice.

time4chocolate · 10/10/2019 09:21

Yes GrinGrin - we must remember to always look on the bright side of lifeSmile

Time - brexit is the headline now and will be for a while to come, however, climate change and environmental impacts are what we should all really be worried about.

A PM who is a denier is concerning because lets be truthful here, anyone who describes Extinction Rebellion in those words is a denier,
but anything to appease SUN and Express readers eh!

MockersthefeMANist · 10/10/2019 10:00

2016 - The People, freely and uninfluenced by outside sources, fully cogniscient of all the complex issues gave a clear and unequivocal mandate for No Deal and the end of the Irish Peace Process.

2017 - The People, bewitched and hyponitsed by the Remainer MPs, voted them all back in and then some more.

bellinisurge · 10/10/2019 10:01

What a tedious pub. Same old whinging in the corner about how they are all out to get you.
I moved from Remain to Orderly Brexit. I won't move to No Deal. But whinging about Remoaners and conspiracies and shit like that rather than, say, supporting an NI temporary membership of the EU customs union is too much for some.
Do you want out or not? NI staying temporarily in the customs union would get you out.

time4chocolate · 10/10/2019 10:08

Bellini You don’t have to post here if you find it tedious or you could even hide the thread.I find Westministenders threads tedious for their whinging about Leavers etc so I choose not to post on them.

Lonelycrab · 10/10/2019 10:14

Well it’s quite clear that westminstenders is mostly debating facts, whereas in here it’s mainly knuckle-dragging bullshit

time4chocolate · 10/10/2019 10:16

Mockers I’m no Babs I can assure you, but I might be tempted in a minute to give it a tryGrin

Lonelycrab · 10/10/2019 10:16

Although what’s refreshing in here, as opposed to real life is you don’t get your head stoved in by said knuckle dragging numpties by pointing out what a load of bollocks this whole charade is

time4chocolate · 10/10/2019 10:19

Lonely are you deliberately trying to get a rise out of some of us? ‘Knuckle dragging’ is so 2016!
