Brexit Arms - Pop Up

Well I’m going to have a crack at this Landlady business and I’ve opened a pop up pubSmile.

Rules are:
Anything brexit related is up for discussion and even not Brexit related if you feel the need (so if you want to discuss Haemoroids that’s ok too Wink).

I’m ok with a bit of arseyness (it’s an emotive subject) but if you go full monty in here I reserve the right to withhold all alcoholic beverages.

I have reserved a quiet table for MNHQ if they want to pop in for a quiet drink (Happy Hour is 6-7pmSmile).

Haven’t properly caught up yet with today’s Brexit news yet but looks like we are finally facing end game, that said still plenty of days left for high jinks and holidays.

Anyone have any views on how they think the next few days will play out are welcome to voice here.

First drinks are on the house WineWine 🍻 Cheers

Look there goes a Unicorn: "a GE is needed but only when a no deal is off the table".

Back in the real world: "No deal will NEVER be off the table, until we leave the EU or Farage quits politics". So by remainer logic Boris will be PM in a minority government forever? Now that is funny 🤣

NoWordForFluffy · 14/10/2019 19:26

Missing the point as ever, Walking. Whoosh!

Burpsandrustles · 14/10/2019 19:31

I'm not sure about weather holding people back.
Does anyone remember the incredible monsoon conditions on ref day?
I was driving down roads and the car was literally lashed with monsoon style rain driving through what seemed like rivers, the car entirely covered by water.

So many very disabled elderly people with no easy access to transport made it out in that weather I'm not sure for passionate brexit voters the cold air would deter them...

NoWordForFluffy · 14/10/2019 19:32

That weather wasn't all over the country. No rain where I was on 23 June 2016.

Burpsandrustles · 14/10/2019 19:46

Brexiters have been tactically voting for years. That's why Farage did so well under Cameron, it was tactical voting to put pressure on Cameron to grant a ref.

Tactical and one may say... Passionate voting /feeling has only come quite recently.... From Remainers....

So people as 'invested as brexiters are I really feel they will crawl out come hell or high watter....

Water

Burpsandrustles · 14/10/2019 19:57

It was like nothing I'd seen round us. Extraordinary.

NoWordForFluffy · 14/10/2019 20:19

Scorchio were I was. I've not been anywhere with rain on 23.06 since 2013, I think (it's DD's birthday).

I think you're crediting Brexiteers with a little too much cunning. Bless you.

NoWordForFluffy · 14/10/2019 20:19

Where, not were.

ContinuityError · 14/10/2019 21:15

No rain where I was on 23 June 2016.

Same here. Just a massive lightning strike at about 6am the following morning that knocked out our power for several hours. I think it might have been a sign.

NoWordForFluffy · 14/10/2019 21:41

Yeah, 24th was damp. We were at Wray Castle, a typical wet weather haunt for us!

BercowsFlyingFlamingo · 15/10/2019 12:36

Has this place closed?

Jason118 · 15/10/2019 13:45

So, do you think BoJo will meet Barnier's deadline tonight or will he dither and delay?

BercowsFlyingFlamingo · 15/10/2019 18:26

I'll have a Bombay sapphire and tonic with lime while I wait, thanks.

time4chocolate · 15/10/2019 18:33

Just to please Matron, I'll have a stiff one pleaseSmile

Walkingdeadfangirl · 15/10/2019 18:50

Its not really a deadline is it. Just a hurry up and get it done, we are running out of time. Maybe another summit at end of the month?

Am sure remain MPs will be trying to sabotage.

time4chocolate · 15/10/2019 18:57

Am sure remain MPs will be trying to sabotage

Yup, going to be some frenetic activity in Remainer HQ over the next few days that’s for sure.

BangersNmashNgravy · 15/10/2019 18:59

Matron, from my old nursing days I recommend an ice cold spoon applied to Jason’s stiff one, and have one yourself. I drink I mean.
