Brexit Arms - Pop Up

Well I’m going to have a crack at this Landlady business and I’ve opened a pop up pubSmile.

Rules are:
Anything brexit related is up for discussion and even not Brexit related if you feel the need (so if you want to discuss Haemoroids that’s ok too Wink).

I’m ok with a bit of arseyness (it’s an emotive subject) but if you go full monty in here I reserve the right to withhold all alcoholic beverages.

I have reserved a quiet table for MNHQ if they want to pop in for a quiet drink (Happy Hour is 6-7pmSmile).

Haven’t properly caught up yet with today’s Brexit news yet but looks like we are finally facing end game, that said still plenty of days left for high jinks and holidays.

Anyone have any views on how they think the next few days will play out are welcome to voice here.

Sally is a rather rotund bear, she won a salmon eating competition. People are praying for her, which is nice, but Sally would also eat them if she got the opportunity Smile

Barnier told diplomats for the member states that the latest British customs proposals for the Irish border remained an “untested” risk that the bloc could not countenance

Colour me surprised, two proposals offered, two turned down and we are now back to the original EU approved backstop by the looks of it. Is there a 'tested' risk that would be countenanced? Are we all (UK/EU) just wasting our time here?

That was not the hoped for pathway to a deal, that was a very short walk to a dead end.

Who is Sally?

Sally has been in a relationship with Dave for a while. She decided in 2016 that she wanted to reassert her independence & play the field but to do so she needed to leave Dave (he won't let her dally with other people whilst they're in a relationship).

Dave was pissed off at the thought of her leaving as she was a net contributor to the household finances, but is ok with her leaving so long as she does so on his terms & pays him a settlement.

Unfortunately, some members of Sally's family have a stalker-like crush on Dave (think bunny-boiling, fatal attraction style fanaticism) & they often drape themselves in Dave's blue & gold-star kaftans & play the glockenspiel whilst chanting slogans & doing everything they can to stop Sally from leaving.

All Sally wants is to be free of her & Dave's codependency but her family & Dave are trying every trick in the book to stop her.

Sally set herself a deadline to leave, but just before the removals truck came, her family locked her in the house & held her captive.
She's booked again for Oct 31st but her family are again trying to keep her captive in the dead relationship.

It's all very sad 😥

Sally is an ageing formerly wealthy powerful woman obsessed with her own faded glorious past. She has a growing paranoid personality disorder and delusions of grandeur. She is a poor judge of character and plays games. She is very controlling - an ageing failed dominatrix.

She does not drink Prosecco (as that is foreign and she doesn't like foreign). She likes a traditional flaggon of bitter or tea which reminds her of glory days and her glorious conquests in the past.

Sally is the U.K.

Of course it’s not a surprise - it’s the result of pissing away the 6 months since the last extension on the arrogant assertion we could pull a fast one at the 11th hour

Poor Sally is gaslighted like this on a daily basis by her toxic family members.

They think that the more they undermine her & slag her off, the more likely it will be that she will give up on her ambition.

Thankfully, Sally has other family members who aren't such cunts.

Agree with this.

I do think BJ's masterplan was to reheat the WA but i also think that was a stupid plan

Much better to have been bolder & shifted to an EEA/EFTA based plan which could have been spun positively

Too much time wasted on game playing by all parties imo

You'd think that the pluses of ditching unrestricted access to a market on our doorstep worth $18.8 trillion of 500 million consumers would have emerged by now - but they haven't.

Still now the dream team of Johnson and the ERG are in charge surely they can restore Sally's faded glory.
