Brexit Arms - Pop Up

Well I’m going to have a crack at this Landlady business and I’ve opened a pop up pubSmile.

Rules are:
Anything brexit related is up for discussion and even not Brexit related if you feel the need (so if you want to discuss Haemoroids that’s ok too Wink).

I’m ok with a bit of arseyness (it’s an emotive subject) but if you go full monty in here I reserve the right to withhold all alcoholic beverages.

I have reserved a quiet table for MNHQ if they want to pop in for a quiet drink (Happy Hour is 6-7pmSmile).

Haven’t properly caught up yet with today’s Brexit news yet but looks like we are finally facing end game, that said still plenty of days left for high jinks and holidays.

Anyone have any views on how they think the next few days will play out are welcome to voice here.

First drinks are on the house WineWine 🍻 Cheers

FFS - Leavers can engage if it’s about Dave and Sally but not if it’s about the actual reality of the situation - it’s pitiful.

Burpsandrustles · 13/10/2019 14:33

#spare a thought for dave.

MockersthefeMANist · 13/10/2019 14:38

I think Dave has been clear all along that Sally can leave if she wants. But she's been talking about retaining a key so she can pop in to use the washing machine and maybe raid the fridge when she's hungry.

Sally is more of a first year student than a spouse.

😂

Viola

I can only read the first three paras as it requires a subscription but this para reads:

It is this kind of information that has put pressure on the prime minister, Boris Johnson, to move away from the idea of leaving the EU without a deal.

As it says, he has moved away from no deal and he has agreed a deal (of some sort). I get that this will probably be a disappointment to a lot of remainer MPs, however, the ball is about to be lobbed into their court, what they do next is out of our hands. But they had better have put some thought into it because no deal is still very much on the horizon.

Members of Sally's family who can't stand the idea of Sally & Dave splitting up & have a weird fetish for Dave which they've really gone batshit crazy public with since she said she wanted a divorce:

bellinisurge · 13/10/2019 14:46

Jesus. Proper demented now.😂😂😂

Burpsandrustles · 13/10/2019 14:56

Dusty it's really sad. Dave has told them all they can't live without him but of course it's Sally who props him up.
Dave wafts around in kaftans of blue and gold stars , making proclamations, haze of insence, low lighting.... When Sally's own family visit they belive dave too, he's so convincing!!
Poor old Sally tries to speak but she's cut off after 4 mins or she's out at work, bearing the load of supporting all of them.

Dave turned one small room into a kind of shrine. He made himself a special flag. And sometimes he paints his face blue, some times everyone in the house paints their face blue and draws stars on themselves.

Sometimes dave shouts through a tannoy and there is always a glock on the go.

😂😂😂😂😂

Proper lol'd at this!!

Burpsandrustles · 13/10/2019 14:57

Dusty I think #pray for Sally is going to trend. 🙏

DustyDiamond · 13/10/2019 14:58

I bet Dave checks in as 'safe' soon - just to get in on the action

Classic Dave - always needing to be at the centre of all things.
He's so controlling.

howabout · 13/10/2019 15:02

Viola that article says exactly the same as 3 years ago's "leaked Govt analysis" and indeed GO's treasury pre-match analysis of the impact of the vote alone - well the para I saw.

Where Remainers seem to want to salvage the best of a bad lot in perpetuity. Leavers are at the point of deciding change is required to progress. I don't often see Remainers selling a brighter future within the EU. I would be interested in that vision.

DustyDiamond · 13/10/2019 15:03

Dave in his kaftan...

"there is always a glock on the go."

What the fuck does that mean?

Burpsandrustles · 13/10/2019 15:10

😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣

I shouldn't laugh. Its best not to provoke people like dave.

bellinisurge · 13/10/2019 15:17

Dh and I were discussing whether we are prepared to side with the loons if Johnson can agree a withdrawal arrangement that Ireland is happy with. Reading the mad shite on here doesn't make that decision any easier.

DustyDiamond · 13/10/2019 15:20

"there is always a glock on the go."

Glockenspiel

Reading the mad shite on here doesn't make that decision any easier.

It’s all so desperately juvenile isn’t it?

We’re being dragged off a cliff by people who thinks it’s a game

bellinisurge · 13/10/2019 15:39

I thought you meant the other kind of glock. The shooty one.

Voila212 · 13/10/2019 15:45

Thanks for answering time4, I'm Irish so obviously didn't have a vote. I'm very interested in Brexit due to its impact for Ireland. While I know democracy must be upheld but I can't fathom how documents like yellow hammer and kingfisher doesn't terrify leavers yet so many would still prefer no deal. While no one can predict the future, so many experts and forecasts predict dire consequences yet those on here think it's a laugh. Do leavers believe that these documents and forecasts are just project fear and are they willing to except all these predictions as part of finally leaving the EU?

twofingerstoEverything · 13/10/2019 15:59

Do leavers actually answer serious questions?

Nope. And they will accuse you of bullying/vitriol/aggression etc etc if you ask them more than once.

dirtyrottenscoundrel · 13/10/2019 16:04

Stop asking then.
I mean, you’ve been asking the same questions for 3 years & still haven’t had the answers you’re looking for, so why keep on?
Brexit is happening in less than 3 weeks so going over the whys & wherefores is a bit pointless.

Walkingdeadfangirl · 13/10/2019 16:06

I have thought for a few years now that remainers had a plan. 'Pretend' to support a good deal with the EU. Cause as much chaos around Brexit as possible, weaponize project fear and whip up hatred but never actually agree to anything.

After enough time has passed, point out how much chaos, fear and hatred Brexit is causing, that a good deal has never materialised so we need a new election. If it looks like Leavers might win an election switch to demanding another referendum with two remain options on the ballot. Cause more chaos before the referendum and then just switch to revoking.

The thing is that Brexit has never happened. Any disruption is being caused by remainers delaying Brexit indefinitely. Getting a good deal with the EU was always contingent on us leaving either way. But parliament has always stopped the PM from getting a good deal. May refused to leave, Ben passed a surrender bill.

It will become clear this Saturday. But I suspect a lot of people will become so sick of politics that NO deal becomes the only deal, leave immediately. If it doesn't happen now we will have to bunker down and fight for our freedom, disrupt the EU from within, veto everything, and bring down parliament. We will escape the EU, its just a matter of when.
