Brexit Arms - Pop Up

Well I’m going to have a crack at this Landlady business and I’ve opened a pop up pubSmile.

Rules are:
Anything brexit related is up for discussion and even not Brexit related if you feel the need (so if you want to discuss Haemoroids that’s ok too Wink).

I’m ok with a bit of arseyness (it’s an emotive subject) but if you go full monty in here I reserve the right to withhold all alcoholic beverages.

I have reserved a quiet table for MNHQ if they want to pop in for a quiet drink (Happy Hour is 6-7pmSmile).

Haven’t properly caught up yet with today’s Brexit news yet but looks like we are finally facing end game, that said still plenty of days left for high jinks and holidays.

Anyone have any views on how they think the next few days will play out are welcome to voice here.

First drinks are on the house WineWine 🍻 Cheers

Brexit is happening in less than 3 weeks

And after 3 and a half years still no one knows what that actually means

Bearbehind · 13/10/2019 16:12

If it doesn't happen now we will have to bunker down and fight for our freedom, disrupt the EU from within, veto everything, and bring down parliament. We will escape the EU, its just a matter of when.

And yet none of you can articulate what you are so desperate to escape.

dirtyrottenscoundrel · 13/10/2019 16:17

We don’t have to articulate anything.
The fact that we want to leave is enough.
No reasons or expectations necessary.

Because we all know what happens when any leaver does give reasons, remainers just shout them down.

dirtyrottenscoundrel · 13/10/2019 16:18

And I agree with everything you said Walkingdeadfangirl

Bearbehind · 13/10/2019 16:19

Will you be happy with a WA with an Irish Sea border dirty?

Is that ‘leaving’ enough for you?

Walkingdeadfangirl · 13/10/2019 16:22

And yet none of you can articulate what you are so desperate to escape

Oh please, as my mother says, if you have nothing intelligent to say dont say anything at all.

bellinisurge · 13/10/2019 16:22

Reading some of the tired old tripe on here I will at least have some pleasure seeing your magic dreams get shafted by Johnson should he come up with something the EU can live with. Because anything the EU can live with will be contrary to all the posturing bollocks you've all been trotting out. And, by the sounds of it, your hero Rees-Mogg is up for compromise too.
As long as it doesn't fuck with GFA, I'm prepared to accept it. I wonder if you will😂

Bearbehind · 13/10/2019 16:24

Oh please, as my mother says, if you have nothing intelligent to say dont say anything at all.

How is it ‘not intelligent’ to ask what you want to escape the EU for?

It’s not like it’s blindingly obvious.

If it was, you’d be reeling off the reasons.

dirtyrottenscoundrel · 13/10/2019 16:26

Reasons have been reeled off for the past 3 years, very good reasons, but they’re not good enough for you because you just don’t want to leave.
It’s pointless!

Walkingdeadfangirl · 13/10/2019 16:27

How is it ‘not intelligent’ to ask what you want to escape the EU for?

And why is the response, "because that is what the UK voted for", good enough for you?

time4chocolate · 13/10/2019 16:28

Viola I am not sure what the Brexit coverage is like where you are, but here it is has been constant, 24/7 in the newspapers, on TV and social media for 3 and a half years!!(and we haven't really got anywhere). The only developments have been MPs dicking around and a certain number of MPs trying to prevent what they voted for in the first place. I think it would be fair to say people have had enough now. From my own point of view I feel Leavers have to some extent now been backed into a corner where they have to side with either revoke or no deal (because I don't think a deal is going to happen). In that situation I would pick 'no deal' because I won't have my vote (which was the majority vote after all) undermined or for me to be told I have to have another go. I will then vote in a GE for the party that will offer a way out, be that Tory or Brexit Party because as far as I'm concerned it would be unfinished business.

I would imagine that people championing Scottish independence would have been equally pissed of if they had won the the Indyref only to be told sorry it's going to make the whole of Scotland worse off so we are going to cancel it and/or ask you to vote again (you know, the 'just to be sure' bollocks!)

dirtyrottenscoundrel · 13/10/2019 16:28

Same as I’ve read all your reasons for remaining, some of them good reasons, but they’ll never change my mind.
I’d still vote to leave.

Bearbehind · 13/10/2019 16:29

Because that means nothing.

I note neither of you will comment on whether the WA with a sea border is good enough for you.

dirtyrottenscoundrel · 13/10/2019 16:30

Yes, it’s good enough for me.

Walkingdeadfangirl · 13/10/2019 16:32

I note neither of you will comment on whether the WA with a sea border is good enough for you I have said many times on other threads. It depends on everything else in the WA. But in short if its acceptable to NI MPs then I probably would accept it.

54321go · 13/10/2019 16:32

Walkingdeadfangirl
That sounds like a plan to me. Just pay the bill on the way out and start grovelling if you want any food or meds. of course a 'deal' will have to be made just to organise that.
And say goodbye to EU owned manufacturing in the UK.
Sounds pretty spiffing to me. Turnip sandwiches anyone?

Bearbehind · 13/10/2019 16:33

It depends on everything else in the WA.

Eh? We already know what’s in the WA - it’s not going to change in the next week except possibly on the backstop.

bellinisurge · 13/10/2019 16:34

Which NI MPs? Tbe DUP are not the only ones

time4chocolate · 13/10/2019 16:35

seeing your magic dreams get shafted by Johnson should he come up with something the EU can live with

Is it something remainer MPs can get behind is more pertinent because if not then whatever the EU can live with becomes irrelevant.

OP posts:
Walkingdeadfangirl · 13/10/2019 16:36

Because that means nothing
And every reason a leaver gives means nothing to a remainer. Hence leavers dont bother any more. You aren't actually interested in leavers opinions .

Walkingdeadfangirl · 13/10/2019 16:38

Which NI MPs? Tbe DUP are not the only ones
Yes they are the NI leavers, so its only their opinion that's relevant. Obviously any NI remain MPs will never find anything acceptable.

Bearbehind · 13/10/2019 16:38

Is it something remainer MPs can get behind is more pertinent because if not then whatever the EU can live with becomes irrelevant.

That’s the joke of it.

I still don’t see where BJ will get the numbers to get through whatever he manages to agree with the EU.

Labour won’t vote for it on principle, the DUP don’t support a sea border and BJ is another 20 votes down on that.

bellinisurge · 13/10/2019 16:39

I wish you'd get over yourself with this victim bollocks. Compromise and you get your magic dream.
I don't care as long as it protect GFA. My daughter now has Irish citizenship too so you haven't succeeded in taking her rights off her. I'm a general prepper so I can cope however shitty it gets. Hopefully, with an orderly Brexit that protects GFA it won't be too dreadful.

Walkingdeadfangirl · 13/10/2019 16:40

We already know what’s in the WA - it’s not going to change in the next week except possibly on the backstop
I have no idea whats in the Boris deal, guess your better informed than me.

bellinisurge · 13/10/2019 16:40

"any NI remain MPs will never find anything acceptable"
More idiotic bollocks.
