Brexit Arms - Pop Up

Well I’m going to have a crack at this Landlady business and I’ve opened a pop up pubSmile.

Rules are:
Anything brexit related is up for discussion and even not Brexit related if you feel the need (so if you want to discuss Haemoroids that’s ok too Wink).

I’m ok with a bit of arseyness (it’s an emotive subject) but if you go full monty in here I reserve the right to withhold all alcoholic beverages.

I have reserved a quiet table for MNHQ if they want to pop in for a quiet drink (Happy Hour is 6-7pmSmile).

Haven’t properly caught up yet with today’s Brexit news yet but looks like we are finally facing end game, that said still plenty of days left for high jinks and holidays.

Anyone have any views on how they think the next few days will play out are welcome to voice here.

First drinks are on the house WineWine 🍻 Cheers

Not my battle time 4 chocolate.

Just friendly suggestion to why...

KayakingOnDown · 11/10/2019 21:37

Some one pronounced it tea-shock the other day in Parliament I noticed. It seemed deliberately ignorant.

Er, that's how it's pronounced.

Bearbehind · 11/10/2019 21:42

Er, that's how it's pronounced.

Which just proves my point about it being a minefield trying to pronounce words in isolation in another language so safer to stick with the English versions.

BangersNmashNgravy · 11/10/2019 21:49

Might need to employ a few bouncers for your establishment landlady.
There’s a reconciliation cafe over the road if anyone’s interested?

time4chocolate · 11/10/2019 21:53

Why's that Bangers is there something kicking off in the car park? Smile

Anyway, back to the battle for brexit. Grin

For the first time in a long time I feel it may happen anyone else?

BangersNmashNgravy · 11/10/2019 21:59

I’m off to sit at the quiet table and enjoy my drink. If it gets too rowdy and the drinks start flying, I’ll hide underneath it 😊

Burpsandrustles · 11/10/2019 22:00

Bangers I think it's kind of place where bar stools are nailed down and glasses are plastic.

Bearbehind · 11/10/2019 22:03

If by ‘it’ you mean agreeing to a deal that’s far worse than we have right now, for no tangible reason then yes, ‘it’ is in sight.

But there’s a massive canyon between now and ‘it’ called getting ‘it’ through parliament.

time4chocolate · 11/10/2019 22:08

Burps. Was just going to post the complete opposite. I was hopeful this morning but, am having serious doubts now that there will be the numbers to get anything passed, especially since reading that Labour would now prefer a second ref before a GE (at least thats what I'm sure I read this afternoon, may have changed by now though!) It's going to get crazy in the next few days that's for sure.

OP posts:
Burpsandrustles · 11/10/2019 22:11

Bloody hell.
It's up and down every second.
I am not sure if bj gets something to make Ireland happy, if labour wilfully reject it for the sake of it...

I don't think we would get as far as election. I really don't. The country will snap.

DorisDaysDadsDogsDead · 11/10/2019 22:11

Gotta love the Quitlings;

I know exactly what I voted for - Nobody knows what's going to happen.

Typical deep thinking...

What sort of establishment do you think I'm running? we did have a spot of bother a while back but it was dealt with and we moved on, nothing to see hereSmile.

OP posts:
Burpsandrustles · 11/10/2019 22:16

Doris it doesn't mater if everyone who voted brexit had 0 gsces and didn't know what they were voting for.

That, this is democracy.
Personally I think more highly of people than that no matter what their gcse are.

ContinuityError · 11/10/2019 22:19

What sort of establishment do you think I'm running?

Does it have windows?

Bearbehind · 11/10/2019 22:20

If you genuinely think ‘democracy’ is following through on the wishes of 17.4m people who had approximately 17.3m versions of what Brexit looks like then we have a very different view of democracy.

howabout · 11/10/2019 22:22

Labour would now prefer a second ref before a GE

Yeah but Corbyn and JMD now saying they will resign if Labour lose a GE so that'll probably persuade most of the PLP to back a GE rather than a 2nd Ref. Gotta love Corbyn / JMD sense of fun sometimes Grin

time4chocolate · 11/10/2019 22:23

Not only does it have windows, its got an orangery out back don't ya know, Smile

Bear there's double, triple that reasons for staying in eu from solid reasons to, selfish reasons and trifling reasons.

Touché.

Bearbehind · 11/10/2019 22:24

Indeed - how Corbyn thinks a GE where he’ll resign if he loses will win him votes is anyone’s guess. What a twat.

time4chocolate · 11/10/2019 22:24

Bit Laurel & Hardy at the moment Howabout Grin

OP posts:
Bearbehind · 11/10/2019 22:27

Bear there's double, triple that reasons for staying in eu from solid reasons to, selfish reasons and trifling reasons.

The massive difference is, the reasons for staying are based on those pesky things called facts.

The reasons for leaving are based on pipe dreams about what it will entail.

Burpsandrustles · 11/10/2019 22:31

Not at all bear.
Some people want to stay in for financial reasons but ask them about Italy or German banks, they have no idea.
Some people think the eu is really fair and democratic. One asks them for junkers famous quotes and they have no idea. One asks them how long we get to speak in the eu parliament and they have no idea.
Ask them how urusla etc were elected they have no idea.
They think the eu gave us peace, but again after some of reading its clear the eu has not directly afforded us peace

Where are the facts?

Bearbehind · 11/10/2019 22:34

The facts are demonstrated by the 2 times we’ve failed to leave already and by BJ not actually being prepared to go through with no deal, hence trying every trick in the book to avoid it.

He, and everyone in the world except Leavers, knows it’s fucking madness.

time4chocolate · 11/10/2019 22:38

.....by BJ not actually being prepared to go through with no deal, hence trying every trick in the book to avoid it

To be fair though Bear that isn't an actual fact until we pass 31st October.
