I lobbied on here for WA every single time it hit Parliament. To protect GFA. Leavers were triggered by it so I fucking compromised over the thing they simultaneously care and don't care about- NI.

As above, even if WA or it’s reincarnation was voted through, it’s far far from over.

It ties us in the the EU far more than most Leavers are happy with

This is what I keep saying about a solution that’s both viable and sustainable.

I don’t see how the WA can ever be that.

No deal is clearly not sustainable either but it would reach its peak of disaster more quickly, allowing more time to recover

bellinisurge · 13/09/2019 14:59

But you have sniped at me every time I have suggested it and taken a totally different approach to anyone else who suggested it. Including observing that it might get through. Really really poor form on your part.

bellinisurge · 13/09/2019 15:10

And then there's a whole thread you set up devoted entirely to attacking what I said in the hope of enlisting support. Such support was patchy at best and, frankly, everyone was very bored.

Bearbehind · 13/09/2019 15:12

No bellini we are talking about 2 different things

You harp on about an NI only solution as if it has never been discussed before and is a silver bullet

That is not in the current WA and would be a significant change with massive repercussions

And then, even if a form of WA, and even one that had an NI only backstop, was passed, that’s not the end of it as you seem to think it is

If you can’t see the difference there’s really no point in discussing this further

bellinisurge · 13/09/2019 15:14

The way you single me out for your ire despite the fact that other people on here this afternoon have said the same thing is really something you should reflect on. It's very odd.

bellinisurge · 13/09/2019 15:18

I don't harp on about it as if it's never been discussed before. I make a point of saying it's not my idea and I'm happy to hear other ideas that protect GFA. But you have this weird fixed motion that i can only assume is part of your love for No Deal. It's really odd.

Bearbehind · 13/09/2019 15:19

bellini I’m not singling you out for anything. You are just acting rather childishly and taking everything as a personal slur rather than taking the time to actually consider the differences in what we’re saying.

Like I said though, we both know it won’t change so it’s probably best just to leave it be.

bellinisurge · 13/09/2019 15:21

You set up a whole thread to have a go at me ffs.

bellinisurge · 13/09/2019 15:25

Don't you remember doing that?

Bearbehind · 13/09/2019 15:36

bellini of course I remember starting the thread

It wasn’t to have a go at you, it was to gauge opinion, but as you said, everyone was just bored by it.

I’m now bored too as this is going nowhere and you really are acting in a most peculiar manner.

You think a WA, ideally with an NI only backstop means Brexit is done, I disagree.

There’s no more to be said than hasn’t been said before.

ContinuityError · 13/09/2019 17:22

Bearbehind · 13/09/2019 17:30

Not me!

I’m staying for the drink!

mummmy2017 · 13/09/2019 17:45

Bear tried that room thing, but Bellinisurge seems to like it in public.

Walkingdeadfangirl · 13/09/2019 17:55

How about parliament gets a secret vote on the WA (or a new Boris deal) with the condition that if it doesn't pass then we leave on no deal.

MPs wont be able to be whipped and remainers get the choice of avoiding a no deal! That would sort this mess out once and for all.

Parker231 · 13/09/2019 17:58

The good news is Boris is saying he has an abundance of proposals to resolve the outstanding issues although unfortunately he hasn’t shared them with the EU. The bad news is more supermarkets and industries are warning of supply chain problems.

ContinuityError · 13/09/2019 18:08

Nah, I think Bear is just after your Gin stash. I’m sure there’s a tonic based joke in there somewhere too.

Septembersunrays · 13/09/2019 18:09

I can't see them ever going for that, but it would certainly be worth it just to at least try & get an honest result.

That said, this current shower of shite likely wouldn't keep it as a secret poll & would no doubt be virtue-signalling to their base-supporters by taking pics of their poll card & tweeting it πŸ™„
