FFS - 1966 World Cup

When will they realise no one else cares about that at all

It was over fifty years ago ffs. Beyond pathetic to be still banging on about it.

On one reading Brexit is a classic case of a declining power, raging against its decline, swinging its dick around on the world stage one last time before sinking into obscurity.

See also the USA.

Mystery either you have a poor barometer for humour, in which case, meh, everyone makes mistakes.
Or,
you floated your real thinking on the issue and are now backtracking when you have been called on it.

I suspect that latter, as it is consistent with your other posts on this thread.

So much for brotherly love. Good for Jo. Interesting that Boris was afraid to tell Cummings ...

Downing St has confirmed Johnson will ignore Benn's bill if it becomes law. Is this treason? It certainly seems to tie into the claims of Johnson attempting a coup when he prorogued parliament.

www.theguardian.com/politics/2019/sep/05/brexit-lords-agree-to-push-through-bill-preventing-no-deal-by-end-of-friday

A spokesman for No 10 said the prime minister would “speak directly to the public, setting out the vital choice that faces our country”. He added that Johnson would refuse to abide by the Benn bill, which would mandate him to seek an extension to Brexit until at least 31 January if, by the end of next month’s crucial European council summit, he has not secured a deal or gained MPs’ consent for no deal.

NoWordForFluffy · 05/09/2019 13:39

Nobody is going to let him have an election then, are they?! They'll let him preside over no deal chaos.

NoWordForFluffy · 05/09/2019 13:39

Oh. I know. He's trying to goad them into a VoNC!

Tonnerre · 05/09/2019 13:41

The Prime Minister isn't going to comply with the law of the land? That could be interesting. I guess the pathway there would be to get a court order compelling him to do so, then if he still refused, take action to have him imprisoned for contempt.

Gove told the Brexit Committee they would abide by it. An hour ago.

Taxi for Gove?

Interesting. Right hand and left hand not talking obviously.

www.theguardian.com/politics/live/2019/sep/05/brexit-lords--blow--boris-johnson-pass-bill-stopping-no-deal-politics-live

Boris Johnson has told the US vice president, Mike Pence, that the NHS would not be for sale in any post-Brexit trade deal with America and that Britain is “not keen on that chlorinated chicken”.

Given Trump's reaction when Denmark refused to sell him Greenland, you can now forget about any sort of deal with the US!
