I bought a cheap games box from The Works, which has 10 games. Includes snakes and ladders, ludo, draughts, little pack of cards I think. Have not fully investigated it yet Blush (Too busy on Internet!) We have a chess board but I've never played, and I would like to get Scrabble too.

In other news, full fat baby bel cheese freezes and thaws well Smile

BlackeyedGruesome · 27/09/2019 22:12

I must blanch and freeze veg for Christmas dinner this week.

Carrots, parsnips, broccoli, cauli, home grown runner beans... All three of them.

NoWordForFluffy · 27/09/2019 22:16

I had so many runner beans. Still have, as my late ones are just starting to have beans ready. We were getting a full bag for life twice a week at its peak! 😱 I'm triggered by rubber beans now. 😂

BlackeyedGruesome · 28/09/2019 08:04

To be fair, it took three decades for the same feelings to wear off, hence now wanting runner beans.

NoWordForFluffy · 28/09/2019 10:53

I've zested and juiced 10 oranges to freeze for Christmas baking this morning. And started to convert our allotment pumpkins into soup! We only used two. Only 9 to go! 😂 (Two will be kept until Halloween, for the kids.)

I'm off to Iceland in a bit to stock up a bit more. 😁

Argghhh brexit foot!
Courtesy of 4 wrapped tins of tuna.
Ouch 😭

BlackeyedGruesome · 28/09/2019 12:25

Ouuuuchh. Poor foot.

I am supposed to be shopping. Ds wants to come back here after swimming, need to go now. after the news quiz

Orangecake123 · 28/09/2019 13:07

Christmas bits like pandora and panatone in Lidl - also merchant gourmet flavoured rice and grain packs with long dates - I’ve used these before for a quick lunch or a side with a main meal they are pretty good

Socksontheradiator · 28/09/2019 14:20

Pleased and proud to announce a lovely bruise. I am always a bit disappointed when a level of bruising doesn't adequately
represent the level of pain!
I should organise better. My stuff is just shoved willy nilly into the larder. Hence falling tins.
Time to grab some plastic boxes out of loft, I think!

Saffrone · 28/09/2019 14:31

@Bellinisurge

Thank you. Have taken a couple of days off, listening to audible instead of R4/LBC.
Now away for the weekend & have vowed not to buy anything this week. Sorted pantry & will work a bit on the freezer.

Not exactly happier, but calmer.

BlackeyedGruesome · 28/09/2019 15:29

I had it when it hurts like hell and there is nothing to see.

NoWordForFluffy · 28/09/2019 16:29

Oh no. Bloody toppling tuna!

I've bought more tea bags, biscuits, ketchup, brown sauce and butter today. Plus Vitalite. I have the butter mountain in my fridge!

CrunchyCarrot · 28/09/2019 17:21

Red, hot and limpy without obvious trauma - same day appointment. Please call your GP surgery.

I called NHS 111 and they pretty much said the same. I ended up in the local walk-in centre (hobble-in centre, more like!). The nurse there said it's almost certainly an insect bite, not serious, but to keep an eye out for various symptoms, and to try not to touch it as that increases the histamine reaction. That of course led to a doh! moment as I have histamine intolerance so of course my body is going nuts.

I felt totally wiped out yesterday, feel a bit better today but area is still very red and swollen. Paracetamol and anti-histamines are my friends. Sigh.

Sorry to hear of your tuna tin accident, Socks! Tins are the devil.

bellinisurge · 28/09/2019 17:43

I have a slightly sore arm but it's in the good cause of my flu jab. Thanks everyone on here for prompting me particularly @flouncyfanny for her suggestion of where to get it.

NoWordForFluffy · 28/09/2019 17:45

See, Crunchy, I asked if you'd been bitten! I'm glad (I'm a way!) that I was right as it means it wasn't something sinister.

BlackeyedGruesome · 28/09/2019 17:53

Sore arms, ankles and feet...Flowers

I have the Christmas chicken in the freezer. Aldi are selling Turkey crowns if that is your thing.no cauli though. Do have carrots. Parsnips were out too. Just ds for tea so non veggie. Using up freezer stuff. Chucked out some stuff that just smells of freezerbag plastic. Some has been in there a long time.

BlackeyedGruesome · 28/09/2019 17:55

I hate when I have to throw stuff out which is why it is still in there.

CrunchyCarrot · 28/09/2019 17:56

Grin well it is a sobering thought that a tiny six- or eight-legged critter can cause so much havoc.

yolofish · 28/09/2019 18:19

I feel for you crunchy I'm one of those who gets a bite and it turns into Armageddon (how very appropriate for current times). Hope it calms down soon. Realised I need to add ketchup to my stash.

It does feel apocalyptic, doesn't it? Mind you am glad I had some paracetamol in my stash. I hardly ever use it but thought I'd best stock up. Amazing how fast it goes when you really need it.

NoWordForFluffy · 28/09/2019 18:35

I've some cracking bites right now, really nasty! Bloody allotment critters!

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 28/09/2019 19:09

Sorting out the kitchen cupboards has bee on my to do list for months. I am going to do it this week. That should clear some space for some of the stockpile.

BlackeyedGruesome · 28/09/2019 19:30

Fucking Mumsnet just jumped so as I hit post search jumped on the way and I have lost my post.

BlackeyedGruesome · 28/09/2019 19:32

As I previously typed...

Been sorting out the fridge. I can see what I have, what needs using and what I need to get now.
