I now have a tub of Miniature Heroes for my stash! And one of the M&S shortbread tins currently selling for £5. I reckon I can still get fat this Christmas! 😂

I think you’ll find the turnip’s mine. I’ll need it as currency to pay someone who lives near work to let me stay.

What sort of things are people putting aside in terms of Xmas?

NoWordForFluffy · 12/09/2019 18:46

Do turnips remind anyone else of Blackadder?!

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 12/09/2019 18:46

Yes. Every time someone mentions them.

Fucking knackered.

Been under the stairs. Stuck more under there. DD has helped unpack and read dates. So much quicker with her helping.

Things I need now:
Schloer for Christmas 2020
Food flask mark two.
Woollies detergent
Washing up liquid

SingingBabooshkaBadly · 12/09/2019 19:29

flouncy. I really hope everything turns out ok and I’ll to be able to do the joke turnip wrapping Smile

SingingBabooshkaBadly · 12/09/2019 19:31

Oh dear. I’ve just noticed I have to fight Rafals for the turnip. That’s an unexpected setback.

Lost half a post. Fuck.

BercowsFlyingFlamingo · 12/09/2019 20:02

I don't think I've ever had turnip. Maybe in soup at some point. Do I need to try them?

BercowsFlyingFlamingo · 12/09/2019 20:03

You're welcome Smile

CrunchyCarrot · 12/09/2019 20:07

Lost half a post. Fuck.

Better than losing half a turnip? I'll get me coat... Grin

SingingBabooshkaBadly · 12/09/2019 20:18

I’m prepared to graciously step aside and let Rafals have the turnip.

Mostly because I don’t actually like turnips... Smile

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 12/09/2019 20:29

It’s OK singing you can have the turnip.

On a more serious note, how likely do we think problems with fuel are going to be? I’m not likely to get paid if I don’t make it into work. I hadn’t really factored that into my no deal preparations.

That’ll do for me. Since there’s nothing I can do about it, I think I’m going to take the sticking my head in the sand approach.

I'm determined to try turnips now. Some of those recipes look ok.

BlackeyedGruesome · 13/09/2019 00:04

It is nicer raw than cooked.

bellinisurge · 13/09/2019 08:42

Here's this weekend's dehydration project a bit earlier- bag of frozen veg (cauliflower/broccoli/carrots/peas) picked up from Tesco. Saves space in the freezer.
Orange fruit leather over the actual weekend.
