Westminstenders: Arse about Face

Everything about Brexit seems to have been done wrongly.

Setting red lines to rule out a compromise

The attempt to use executive power to trigger A50, that resulted in a court case

Triggering A50 before knowing what the UK wanted

Agreeing to the backstop before any Tory MP understood the GFA

Appointing a Brexit minister before checking he understood where Dover was.

May going on about NI and pissing off the DUP before they were just about to climb down.

Having a Meaningless Vote repeatedly with a gun to head.

Contempt of Parliament and just general fucking up.

Tonight, 3 days before we were due to leave the HoC finally sat down to decide what Brexit outcomes they thought would be a good idea - more than 2years after that should have happened.

And we now we are told the meaningful vote might be may even more meaningless by being wrapped up in the illusive Withdrawal Agreement Implimentation Bill.

Farce doesn't even cover it.

Anyway Indicative Vote results incoming in approx 15 mins.

Damien Moore also voted against everything. Marvellous. Hmm He's a remain area. Say bye bye to a second term!

MrPan · 28/03/2019 06:02

It all does become more like a game of Mornington Crescent each day.

ValleyoftheHorses · 28/03/2019 06:14

My MP is John Grogan, Labour in a swing seat. Was Tory until the last election. It’s leave area but he voted for PV and revoke, he’s obviously a remainer. He answers emails too.
Can Labour not get rid of Corbyn? He’s awful! I would really like to vote for Grogan but would really struggle to vote Labour with Corbyn in charge.

Runningintothesunset · 28/03/2019 06:20

The Cabinet abstained from everything as they objected to the process

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 28/03/2019 06:22

voting record of each MP

( my autocorrect changed voting to lying. Oh the irony’s)

Adam Afriye’s voting is a disgrace. Completely against the will f his remain constituents

Grinchly · 28/03/2019 06:25

My MP voted against all except no deal. He voted for no deal. Beyond contempt for him.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 28/03/2019 06:25

If we don't pass the MV3 by the end of tomorrow and don't submit a plan on what we are going to do, aren't we supposed to be crashing out on the 12th?

BelfastBloke · 28/03/2019 06:29

I clicked on the Guardian's "What Happens Next" article and it's all about Theresa May and the Conservative leadership elections.
Who gives a fuck about that?
What happens next with the indicative votes for the future of this country?

Rhubarbisevil · 28/03/2019 06:30

I think we are badkitten

Decormad38 · 28/03/2019 06:31

The Guardian

"They behave with neither care nor caution, let alone concern for the welfare of the nation. These people are laughing at us, even as they take our money to go about their daily business."

So true

NoWordForFluffy · 28/03/2019 06:33

I think we have longer to tell them our new plan (needs to be before the EC27 meeting on 10 April really, I think).

I too want to know where we go from here.

IgnoranceIsStrength · 28/03/2019 06:36

My mp only voted for no deal. A piss take. I thought they were at least supposed to attempt they were considering other ideas. Majority of our area (West Midlands) is leave but the negative effects of no deal would be felt badly here.

MissMatchedClaws · 28/03/2019 06:39

My MP didn’t vote at all. On anything. WTF?

RevokeRemainRebuild · 28/03/2019 06:40

Oops apologies to Alan Duncan - he voted for Revoke 😊

Tanith · 28/03/2019 06:44

I was amazed mine hadn’t voted: he always votes whatever the Government wants.

Then I remembered he’s in the Cabinet and they all abstained. Really, I could shake them!

QueenMabby · 28/03/2019 06:45

My MP voted for EEA/EFTA, Customs 2.0 and Ken Clarke’s CU and no to everything else. Was a bit disappointed she didn’t vote for PV but she’s in a Leave voting constituency so am pleased she voted yes for what she did.

InMySpareTime · 28/03/2019 06:48

Mine voted no to everything. What does that even mean?

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 28/03/2019 06:49

My MP when I last lived in England voted PV and revoke.
She is in a strong remain seat.
I have an apartment in a leave constituency, so I am going to register to vote there.

Horehound · 28/03/2019 06:51

Mine also votes no to everything. I think that means they prefer the WA?
I emailed her and told her she was spineless. We are in Scotland she's going against her constituents.

GroovieGazelloo · 28/03/2019 06:55

Thanks Red.
Letting Donald Tusk's words echo around my mind today...
"You cannot ignore the 6 million people... they are Europeans ".

metro.co.uk/2019/03/27/dont-betray-6000000-people-want-revoke-article-50-tusk-warns-9034448?ito=social

grannycake · 28/03/2019 06:57

Mine also voted revoke or PV. Best I think we have the same MP. The problem is she's personally brilliant but I am torn if there was an election - if I vote Labour again my vote will be counted as pro-Brexit when a GE should be about so much more than one issue

Pepvixen · 28/03/2019 07:02

I'm in a very remain area with a strong remain mp. Bit disappointed she didn't also support the soft Brexit options as a backup.

HesterThrale · 28/03/2019 07:03

I think you’re right horehound. Maybe some voted no to everything because they prefer the TM WA. My MP also voted no to all except one abstention.

If... if... the WA is rejected on the 3rd time of asking, (Friday?), maybe that will concentrate their minds and they’ll have to vote for something else on Monday.

(But if it passes, I guess Monday won’t need to happen.)

So we might see more definite voting on Monday. I wonder which options will come back then?

Langrish · 28/03/2019 07:05

Groovie: I emailed secretariat of the European Counsel yesterday Blush (there’s a drop down box so you can aim it at the President). Seriously doubt it will reach him but should at least get to his office. Just wanted to say thank you, when our own Government is trying to ride rough shod over our rights as Europeans.

67chevvyimpala · 28/03/2019 07:06

My erg treat of an mp voted for no deal.

Fucker.
