If anyone says they know what will happen this week....

... They don't.

Anna Soubry with another excellent speech. I really do like her, Tory or no...

MadAboutWands · 25/03/2019 21:24

PMK before this thread is full!

Holidayshopping · 25/03/2019 21:24

Really?!

Westminstenders: Chaos
HepzibahHumbug · 25/03/2019 21:25

MaudBGT me too!!

wherearemychickens · 25/03/2019 21:26

Well the problem Queen is that I do keep eating mine - at current rate of snacking, it's only going to last me two weeks!

Songsofexperience · 25/03/2019 21:26

Why the hell wouldn't Letwin pass?

BiglyBadgers · 25/03/2019 21:27

If the Letwin amendment doesn't pass I will officially give up on the whole lot of them and concentrate on building my brexit stash because we will be absolutely screwed and parliament will have done absolutely nothing to stop it.

PestyMachtubernahme · 25/03/2019 21:27

So it is only me who has a lydl nougat stash? Darn chocolate makes me sick.

Presumably the main reason for rejecting May's deal is that it is fairly open ended and with the ERG leading negotiations it will just lead to no deal in two years. Which is even worse than no deal in 3 weeks.
I have broken into the wine stash.

MockerstheFeManist · 25/03/2019 21:28

Why the hell wouldn't Letwin pass?

The DUP don't seem keen on it, and there aren't that many Labour Leavers who are impressed: Kate Phooey, John Mann, that's about it.

Littlespaces · 25/03/2019 21:28

I have raided the wine stockpile.

Lisette1940 · 25/03/2019 21:31

Irish Whiskey here 🥃

Holidayshopping · 25/03/2019 21:33

Why would you NOT vote for a series of indicative votes now to find out what MPs actually want, considering the impotent situation parliament is currently in??!

QueenOfThorns · 25/03/2019 21:34

Well the problem Queen is that I do keep eating mine - at current rate of snacking, it's only going to last me two weeks!

This is my concern as well. The performance of our elected representatives is driving me to drink and chocolate. And unfortunately, I inadvertently revealed the location of the Brexit treats box to DH, so we’re fucked now!

(Have you tried the Aldi caramel chocolate buttons? Almost make me forget about the impending disaster...for a little while, at least!)

wherearemychickens · 25/03/2019 21:35

Whoever is speaking now has clearly not got the memo that the Brexit date has changed... wtf is he on about?

MockerstheFeManist · 25/03/2019 21:35

It was Irish Whiskey, or a lack of it, that brought down the Labour Govt in 1979.

Independent Republican MP Frank Maguire liked his glass of Paddy in the Labour Chief Whip's office. This was all fine until a new Chief Whip came along and thought this an extravagance. Frank sulked. Abstained. Labour lost the vote.

67chevvyimpala · 25/03/2019 21:38

I recommend tullamore dew.

Its a good drop.

Littlespaces · 25/03/2019 21:39

I did look up at Buckingham Palace to see if the EU flag was flying on Saturday.

I guess she would get into big trouble.

ThereWillBeAdequateFood · 25/03/2019 21:39

I can beat you all with dodgy sex dreams.

I once had one involving Thatcher, I’ve never felt more sick in my life. Never voted Tory in my life, it was pregnancy induced I think.

I have no clue what’s happing tonight, so glad this threads here.

BigChocFrenzy · 25/03/2019 21:41

chickens The PD could theoretically be updated & approved by all countries by 22 May
if MPs just choose the aim of the trade negotiations in transition , e.g. permanent CU or SM

I noticed how quick the EU drafters were with their 585 pages of WA when May abruptly switched to that
The PD should not be as much work to change.

The drafting team may even have text already prepared for different PD scenarios

The PD can't really be made binding anyway, because if the UK ÜM / govt changes during the years of transition, they can't be bound by a previous HoC decision

Obviously a PV would require a much longer extension, plus voting by latest 12 April to legislate EP elections

CordeliaEarhart · 25/03/2019 21:41

So glad I finished my dinner before sitting down to catch up - clearly you lot are going round the bend with sex dreams about politicians!

I'm all for moving to back Scotland post Brexit (my heart is still in Edinburgh), voting for independence and rejoining the EU. Either than or marry my friend who just got offered a job in Germany cos she's got an Irish passport . I'm in a mini Remain area surrounded by leavers, so don't really fancy sticking around here.

I'm not even going to attempt to understand all the possible permutations til after the voting. So my tuppence worth - none will pass so we will be non the wiser about the future. Definitely time for Wine methinks.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 25/03/2019 21:42

I hadn't realised they were still yammering on in Parliament tonight. While I feel immensely impotent about it all, at least I. an head to bed in a few minutes with my book.

Camomila · 25/03/2019 21:43

I’ve had the remote wrestled away from me...too much bbc parliament is stress inducing apparently. So I watched a very relaxing Mary Berry show followed by a Japan by train travel show.
And ate an Asda melt in the middle chocolate pudding...I don’t think I ever stress ate before the referendum!

RHTawneyonabus · 25/03/2019 21:43

Sometimes I feel unreasonably optimistic and then for some reason my mind keeps going back to the last episode of Blackadder
George: ‘Oh We've survived it, The Great War, From 1914 to 1917‘

BigChocFrenzy · 25/03/2019 21:45

Many MPs oppose indicative votes .... because they don't actually want the responsibility of publicly choosing
Also Corbyn up to now

67chevvyimpala · 25/03/2019 21:46

I once had a dream where I was at the dentists, then the actor Elliott Gould ran into the room, shot me in the chest and all my teeth fell out.

Then I woke up.

I have very odd dreams.
