The people signing are from all parts of the UK. You have no idea how they voted first time round. Inevitably, there will be a higher number of signatories from remain constituencies, but that doesn't necessarily mean that plenty of leavers haven't also changed their minds. I know two leave voters in our leave-voting constituency who signed the petition today. The awful reality of what they voted for had finally dawned on them.

Parliament can't find a way through so it's time for the people to have another say.

mummmy2017 · 21/03/2019 20:23

The partition has a tracker on where it is being signed, and the data is saying the hit areas are around university areas , and London ..

yumyumpoppycat · 21/03/2019 20:24

I signed easily last night but my husband tried to sign this evening and isn't getting the link to finalise signature.

IceRebel · 21/03/2019 20:25

It seems to have been stuck at 1,311,334 for ages?!

Yep i'm not getting the site is down error or anything but the number isn't actually moving, and hasn't done so for over 10 minutes now. Confused

BelleSausage · 21/03/2019 20:26

@mummmy2017

And your point is?

BelleSausage · 21/03/2019 20:27

I suspect there are still technical issues. Loads of people on Twitter reporting that they are still waiting for the e-mail.

MoniqueTonique · 21/03/2019 20:27

I haven't had the confirmation email either. Annoying.

PamDooveOrangeJoof · 21/03/2019 20:28

It’s broken 😩

PamDooveOrangeJoof · 21/03/2019 20:28

The total hasn’t moved for over 30 minutes

bobiana · 21/03/2019 20:28

@mummmy2017

I'm sorry, but you're misinterpreting the map.

Have another look, and check the key - there have thousands of signees from the majority of constituencies.

The constituencies with less than 1000 votes are in the minority by far.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 21/03/2019 20:28

Maybe they’re slowing down the refresh rate to stop it crashing and we'll have a big refresh later on....
Math thing is, people can get on and sign.

Legofriday · 21/03/2019 20:29

Just got the confirm email about 3 or 4 hours after I signed.

MockerstheFeManist · 21/03/2019 20:31

IceRebel · 21/03/2019 20:32

RockyFlintstone · 21/03/2019 20:32

I noticed this but it has now gone up to over 1,411,000 now, over 100,000 more signatures!

Confused Tell me, if your children’s futures had already been affected and they will lose rights that will affect their futures even more, you have witnessed the marvellous care given to a loved one in the NHS and care sector that made his last days so much easier and those EU citizens have gone home and you know so many EU citizens who have made positive contributions to your life who would not be mae welcome in this horrible hostile U.K. we have been fashioning would you not do everything you can possibly do to make your voice heard , March, sign petitions. At least I tried to make my voice heard ...

RockyFlintstone · 21/03/2019 20:33

But now stuck at that - they must be having real issues!

Trekkingbeyond · 21/03/2019 20:33

Extraordinary

brizzlemint · 21/03/2019 20:40

Looking at the csv data for the petition is interesting if you have the means to do so.

LizzieMacQueen · 21/03/2019 20:41

1.4m + now

Laska2Meryls · 21/03/2019 20:41

The Petitions Committee twitter feed is here. They are saying that it due to the amount of usage on the site today , the emails are now sometimes taking up to 24hrs and going into junk mail folders..

I reckon it will have hit 2m (or more) tomorrow morning!

Lunde · 21/03/2019 20:42

Seems to be permanently crashed, "under maintenance" or simply off line - seems stuck at 1,411,867 at the moment but many must have been unable to post

Bluntness100 · 21/03/2019 20:50

Up to 1,478, now.
