Something fishy going on here. Perhaps we need to put it on the side of a bus.

Did this petition only open yesterday? I went to sign last night, and eventually got an email saying I had already signed but I can't have done if it is new??

No, it expires August 20 so will have started Feb 20

Someone with a lot of followers tweeted it yesterday & it took off from there. It was very low numbers before that.

Gintonic · 21/03/2019 19:37

I though I had signed yesterday but I never received an email telling me I was number xxxxx to sign. Does that mean I may not have signed? I had the confirm your email message, but should there be a second one?

RhubarbTea · 21/03/2019 19:38

Nope I didn't get a second email after I'd clicked the link they sent me.

ConfusedDotty · 21/03/2019 19:49

You know this will not make any difference whatsoever. The vote has been cast, it's matter of time.

Redskyandrainbows67 · 21/03/2019 19:51

Confused dotty that simply isn’t true. Parliament will need to avoid crashing out. All options are still on the table.

Redskyandrainbows67 · 21/03/2019 19:52

Confused the referendum wasn’t legally binding you do know that right??

oreoxoreo · 21/03/2019 19:56

The vote has been cast...?
Well Mps voted against the deal - the deal apparently still on the table.
MPs voted against no deal - no deal is still on the table.
MPs voted to extend Article 50, don't know for how long but it doesn't matter because TM decides on her own accord.

So really, is this the vote of non binding, lie-based referendum that has been cast??

GiantKitten · 21/03/2019 19:56

They don’t send an email with your number, but when you go back to the petition page (if you can get through...) it’ll give you the current number

Gintonic · 21/03/2019 19:59

Aha thanks giantkitten

mummmy2017 · 21/03/2019 20:07

Seems those signing are from remain areas and students, not from leave areas...
So not representive of a change in the UK reviews....

SmiledWithTheRisingSun · 21/03/2019 20:08

If you signed check your emails. You need to confirm it for your signature to count.

BelleSausage · 21/03/2019 20:09

@mummmy2017

You do realise not one area voted 100% Leave or Remain?

You have no idea how the people signing this petition voted in the first place.

NoWordForFluffy · 21/03/2019 20:10

Every single constituency is represented, so you appear to be confused.

AutumnCrow · 21/03/2019 20:11

Perhaps Dotty means the die is cast?

Incidentally, Arron Banks considers himself to be quite the scholar of Roman history. He mansplained it to Mary Beard once. She was very restrained in shoving it up his Rubicon.

BelleSausage · 21/03/2019 20:13

Numbers appear to have stalled.

AutumnCrow · 21/03/2019 20:15

They stalled early PM and then suddenly jumped by fifty thousand.

mummmy2017 · 21/03/2019 20:16

No, it said the poll figures show the people who are signing are from majority remain areas and Oxford and Cambridge, not from majority leave areas....
So not some massive shift of views.

bigKiteFlying · 21/03/2019 20:16

twitter.com/UltraButt watching here the site keeps going down .

KizzyWayfarer · 21/03/2019 20:17

People refreshing the page to check on numbers are contributing to the traffic crashing the site. It would be helpful if people could publicise alternative ways of checking like petition.mimmdev.me/

PamDooveOrangeJoof · 21/03/2019 20:19

It seems to have been stuck at 1,311,334 for ages?!

KizzyWayfarer · 21/03/2019 20:19

Hmm, the total on that site hasn’t moved for a while. But that may just mean the petition’s down again.

bobiana · 21/03/2019 20:20

@mummmy2017

The map shows clearly that people from all over the country have signed it. Naturally the density is higher in natural remain areas.

However, please let everyone know how you know that apart from remain areas, it's only students signing it?

NoWordForFluffy · 21/03/2019 20:21

The poll shows that people in every constituency are voting. I think you're trying to say that the areas with the highest concentration of votes are remain areas. But that isn't what you are saying.
