Brexit is starting to feel like social cleansing

I’m probably paranoid but I’m starting to feel like there’s an agenda here - surely the government can’t be that useless?
In the event of crashing out those who are already struggling will struggling more. People who are ill or disabled and can’t get access to medications (including me) could die.
Is it over the top to suggest that this is an exercise in allowing the fittest and richest to thrive? By design or by accident? I’m no longer sure.

@MissedTheBoatAgain hasn't lived in the UK or E.U. for 30 years.

hasn't lived in the UK or E.U. for 30 years

Still a UK Citizen

bellinisurge · 12/03/2019 07:27

So?

MissedTheBoatAgain · 12/03/2019 08:27

So?

It means I can return to UK if I wish.

bellinisurge · 12/03/2019 08:30

Who was stopping you from returning to the UK? You can come and sponge off the health care system that you haven't paid for.

Peregrina · 12/03/2019 08:34

The Referendum was not the EU election for MEPs, as any fule kno.
But I wouldn't be a bit surprised if a politician like Esther McVey thought it was. After all, wasn't she the one asking why we couldn't still have MEPs if we left the EU?

prettybird · 12/03/2019 09:11

That was Nadine Dorries. I think Esther McVey is slightly more informed - and definitely more calculating (viz her now deleted tweet yesterday about being forced to join the Euro Hmm)

I will do that after I retire and assets are safely hidden from HMRC.

Brexit in a sentence. A project supported by tax dodgers and criminals. Brexit is all about EU tax haven legislation.

TheWomanin12B · 12/03/2019 09:18

I'm sorry, but it was plainly obvious that this Conservative Government in particular would never have your best interests at heart and would be spectacularly incompetent at implementing it.

Absolutely, blindingly obvious.

Of course they were going to use Brexit to strip you of your rights, exploit the poor and plunder the NHS. Why do you think they wanted it so much? It wasn't out of the kindness of their hearts. Christ.

Biggest con in history and what's more, people still think they desperately want it.

TheWomanin12B · 12/03/2019 09:20

And before anyone says anything, no I won't vote Labour.

MissedTheBoatAgain · 12/03/2019 22:36

Thankfully MPs once again rejected Mays hideous remain in disguise deal.

Hopefully they are equally wise when voting on no deal
