Only 1 rule.
No c&p posts a mile long, they’re just boring & no one reads them.
Keep it short, sweet, & to the point.

Peace & Love ❤️🇬🇧❤️

Ah 1984 , getting the 7inch single from Woolworths , those were the days Smile

jasjas1973 · 13/09/2018 20:50

Our consumer economy is tied to house prices, a sharp drop in house prices affects consumer wealth, confidence and spending.

That ll be bad for everyone....unless you' re that millionaire who can buy up property.... wonder how many MPs are in the buy to let market? answer 1 in 5 , inc T.May, P.Hammond and Liam Fox.

Buteo · 13/09/2018 20:51

Christmas puddings on the shelves in Sainsbury’s.

That’s one thing I don’t need to stockpile - I think I have some 10 year led ones at the back of the cupboard. Just need to add whisky and custard.

frumpety · 13/09/2018 20:52

So a win win for your millionaire MP Jas who would have thunk it !

@buteo, so what are you going to do with the Christmas puds, are they heading for year 11?

jasjas1973 · 13/09/2018 20:57

Aided and abetted by Surfer! chin chin!

frumpety · 13/09/2018 21:01

I have to admit that we actually ate our 2017 Christmas pudding last week Wink

surferjet · 13/09/2018 21:02

We don’t even think about Christmas until about 15th December in our house.

PineappleSunrise · 13/09/2018 21:08

I usually manage to get my Christmas cakes on in November, but apart from that work usually means it all happens in the last two weeks of December. I like to say that I focus on the necessary bits. Grin

Buteo · 13/09/2018 21:12

leclerc I’m eating them on a strictly rotational basis. Last Christmas we ate the 2007 pudding.

They do keep remarkably well (although with the amount of whisky I pour over they could be rancid and I probably wouldn’t notice).

Buteo · 13/09/2018 21:15

I have given up making Christmas cake though - nobody ate the bigger and I’d end up binning it. A bit like the Christmas panettone DH insists on - he eats one slice and I bin it 6 months later.

Buteo · 13/09/2018 21:16

Why did autocorrect change bugger to bigger? I thought these things were supposed to learn?

surferjet · 13/09/2018 21:21

See I’ve always wanted to make my own Christmas cake, think I might give it a go this year

frumpety · 13/09/2018 21:28

Did it once Surfer think it was from Delia's Christmas book, worked really well, lots of alcohol to keep it moist.

frumpety · 13/09/2018 21:34

It does make your house smell lovely Star

Buteo · 13/09/2018 21:46

Dead easy to make, and the house smells amazing. And it will take about 4 hours to cook.

Morethanthisprovincallife · 13/09/2018 21:59

I didn't realise the pub was open again.
Glad to see it's chugging on.
Things are hotting up now.
I've not ploughed through 28 pages.
But we need a brexiteer at the helm now.
We need to stop wasting time with talk of stopping brexit and get on with getting a fantastic one.

I'll bite. What would a fantastic Brexit look like? Who would it be 'fantastic' for?

Morethanthisprovincallife · 13/09/2018 23:07

Just read back through, what a fabulous thread 😂😂.
What stands out for me is the humour. It's this humor that will see us through.
Gideon what are you biting?

I don't understand the premise of the question. Who would brexit be good for?
We are brexiting so surely it needs to be good for everyone? NoConfused

I have started a mild stockpile. Paracetamol. 26p wilko every time I go in I pick up a pack.

Loo roll.

I'm astonished to read on thread, not fact checked it that fish n chips are not actually British 😱

time4chocolate · 13/09/2018 23:08

My mum swears by Delia’s Xmas cake recipe. I would try it myself but I’m put off by icing the thing, could end up with a complete abomination as a table centrepiece Blush

jasjas1973 · 13/09/2018 23:09

Been waiting for over 2 years for someone to answer that one!

Really brexitiers, with no deal, you ll be taking us back to the 1970s, no money and no influence.....we can't even stand up against Hungary and Viktor Orbán, just in case we need his votes in any brexit deal.
