The EU27 are getting really fed up aren't they, and really who can blame them ?

frumpety · 23/07/2018 07:46

They are putting the needs of the 450million people in the EU27 above those of the 17.4 million who voted to leave in the UK.

Rosstac · 23/07/2018 08:10

inthemixx As per normal, officials, diplomats, no actual names to back their claims, we have gone from trying to negotiate to trying to scare and bully,

Oh dear , well I am sure it will all be worth it eventually …...

Rosstac · 23/07/2018 08:14

frumpety while ignoring the 4 million EU citizens here and people like yourself, see they don't care about you as much as you care about a bloated aging organisation,
No plus to being in the system only threats abuse if you dare to want to leave, I so glad we never tock on that stupid Euro idea, like some politicians wanted use too, that worked out well for Greece

Rosstac · 23/07/2018 08:17

frumpety sometimes you have to make a sacrifice for the grater good, are grandchildren will thank us.

Is that an actual news outlet ?

Rosstac · 23/07/2018 08:19

frumpety As we are leaving why don't you put your time and effort in too making in successful rather than wasting time and energy on dragging it down ?

frumpety · 23/07/2018 08:28

I don't need to expend any energy on 'dragging it down' my lovely , nothing I have done has caused any of this mess.

What would you like me to do to make it a success ? We have relinquished the power to do anything about it, to a few people in Government, this is what you voted for. Are they not doing what you thought they would ?

54321go · 23/07/2018 08:34

I wish all leavers would visit any other country in the world and simply look at that other countries economy, way of life, taxes security etc and then compare and contrast to the UK. They are all a mix of 'good' and 'bad' of which the UK probably ranks somewhere a bit above the 'middle' range. The USA might be regarded as an 'ideal' but the obvious racism and the risk of your children being shot at school etc is a bit of a 'downside' to me. But great, chlorinated chicken and GM foods are cheap.
The world will be a much different place in 50 years. I for one won't see it but I hope it will be OK for my child.
The UK is a group of small islands and we are about to find out how small it is very soon.

frumpety · 23/07/2018 08:41

Rosstac the EU care very much about their EU citizens and probably a lot more about the citizens of the UK than our current administration. They have been open to negotiation but when the UK's chief negotiated only turned up 3 times and for a total of fours hours , this year , what hope do they honestly have of negotiating anything ?

Helmetbymidnight · 23/07/2018 08:42

why don't you put your time and effort in too making in successful

What on earth do you mean?

Scoopofchaff · 23/07/2018 08:43

Hear hear 54321! If I were PM I would make it compulsory for every British 18 yr old to spend at least six months abroad and try and speak in a language other than English and try and gain an understanding of (in addition to all the things you mention) the challenges that entails!

FridayThirteenth · 23/07/2018 08:50

@Rosstac our grandchildren will thank us? How can you possibly know that! Any manner of world events can happen in 50 years that could negate whatever positives (still undefined) are supposed to materialise?

How on earth can you justify sacrificing our kids futures on this vague promise? When your poster boy JRM is admitting it will be shot but absolving himself of responsibility because (and most of us) will be dead when it transpires there is no dividend?

How does this cognitive dissonance work? We were being told straight after the referendum how great it would be. Now the line is that you voted for it to be shit for the rest of our lives but it will be worth it for some unknown future?

That's such bullshit and I don't believe you. You are so brainwashed you can't admit this is a mistake and will happily drag the rest of us down with you whose waving your unicorn flags

MrHoolieswaistcoat · 23/07/2018 08:50

Rosstac I can’t believe I’ve just read that. So I just sacrifice my children’s future for the possibility that things will be better in 50 years time and that my non-existent grandchildren will thank me? Fuck. That.
If any proof were needed that some Brexiteers are completely brainwashed, you’ve just provided it in spades.
I am a SPAG boffin but I make a deliberate point of not pointing out spelling or grammatical errors unless the poster is being a twat.
For your information, it’s ‘our’ not ‘are’.
And it’s not ‘greater’ not ‘grater’.
Grater is the spelling used for a cheese grater. I’m assuming you’re not asking me to sacrifice my children’s future for a cheese grater?

FridayThirteenth · 23/07/2018 08:53

Do you know what I'm getting so fucking angry now.
And the more the consequences become apparent of this car crash the more people will feel like this.

As for working to make this a success - go on give me some practical things I can do to have any influence whatsoever on what's going to happen?

TheElementsSong · 23/07/2018 08:53

why don't you put your time and effort in too making in successful

Why don't you?

Talkstotrees · 23/07/2018 08:57

why don't you put your time and effort in too making in successful

How?

Helmetbymidnight · 23/07/2018 09:01

love your country? Put up a flag maybe?

MrHoolieswaistcoat · 23/07/2018 09:02

Oh and it’s ‘into’ not ‘in too’.
I am also curious about what I should be doing to make this pile of shit successful.

TheElementsSong · 23/07/2018 09:05

I think it was summed up way upthread as "Think Positively" and "Recite Slogans".

Peregrina · 23/07/2018 09:06

are [sic] grandchildren will thank us.

So my infant grandson has the next fifty years blighted so that a better future can be eventually built for his own grandchildren? Fuck that, I would say, if I was one who swore.

54321go · 23/07/2018 09:11

@Helmet
Will that be the 'skull and crossbones' flying over the houses of JRM and gang?
There was a 'backing Britain' campaign years ago.
Maybe there should be a new national song. Maybe 'Who pulled the plug out'?

frumpety · 23/07/2018 09:23

It doesn't matter to the likes of Rees mogg, he and his wifes combined wealth of £100,000,000 will no doubt insulate them from the worst Brexit related issues, they may even make more money as a result of it.
