🇬🇧 🇬🇧 🇬🇧 🇬🇧 🇬🇧 🇬🇧 🇬🇧 🇬🇧 🇬🇧 🇬🇧

Thought I'd dust off the optics & open the bar for the festive period Xmas Smile

If any of the the old crowd are still around, then do pop in for a Christmas catch up & join me in toasting the end of the beginning!

Onward! To Brexit!

The subject being discussed wrt to me was based on misquotation & false inference so I wasn't prepared to leave it unchallenged.
Hmm

Hard border- lol! That did actually make me laugh inkanta Grin

Yay Wink

Do you want Bear pushed out of the group? Should no one talk to her so she leaves? If we make jokes are her expense she might start crying and leave.

Bear has been a stalwart of these threads since the start - I often get irritable with her as she always wants ANSWERS!

I wouldn't however want her to leave or be 'pushed out' as she's not a nasty person at all.

I argue with her when I don't agree, and she gives as good as she gets.

Bearbehind · 17/01/2018 22:03

faith you know damn well you were accusing me of 'demanding answers'.

Take some responsibility for what you post.

FaithHopeCharityDesperation · 17/01/2018 22:04

.... I will respect the hard border now 🍷

time4chocolate · 17/01/2018 22:06

Moussemoose - but when you use the words ‘horrified’ ‘calamitous’ and ‘ransomed’ my first thought would not be “oh there’s a person who is politically aware” just saying.

It’s a funny old world isn’t it?

It never ceases to amaze me how different people see the same thing from such opposing angles.

Moussemoose · 17/01/2018 22:16

@time4chocolate

I have no desire to be considered politically aware by the denizens of this board!

I would however, be concerned if posters though an interest in politics and wider political issues meant I had an "empty" life and had addiction issues. Concerned for them btw.

If I have made any inferences that are false please point them out and we can debate them. I have quoted and explained all the points I have made. I have not dismissed any points with out explanation.

If you don't agree with my points tell me. I am happy to debate although it is bed time soon.

mummmy2017 · 17/01/2018 22:18

Bear you were demanding answers, you did not say Demand, but you do keep repeating your questions and asking for answers.

And at one point the other night you did seem hysterical in your refusal to accept there could ever be a point where the WTO came into force, because of the statement about the NI Border.

Moose is deliberately trying to stir up something, that was never implied, I was not trying to put anyone down in that way.

And yes Bear your reactions and arguments are text book for refusal to accept there could be a complete split between the EU and the UK.
There are aspects of the talks both sides disagree with, the leavers jump straight to acceptance of the split and hope for the future. To be told by yourself we are acting like 5 year olds, because our views are different to those you wish to acknowledge.

As a remainer you honestly say your greatest hope is for the referendum to be over turned...thus to not have to accept a break up...

Moussemoose · 17/01/2018 22:23

Mummy I and several other posters have explained to you why using the term 'hysterical' is problematic especially when applied to clever women. So why would you choose to continue using it?

Bear was absolutely not hysterical, she was engaged, passionate, interested, frustrated and knowledgeable.

We are trying, I think, to calm the thread down a little.

Bearbehind · 17/01/2018 22:28

mummmy, given you’ve referred to the GFA, SM and CU as FGA and SC I honestly don’t think you know what they are without the use of Google.

That’s not intended as an insult, just a statement of fact.

You carry on believing there’s minions out there solving all the problems and I’ll continue looking for answers.

Hasenstein · 17/01/2018 22:33

Bear has been a stalwart of these threads since the start - I often get irritable with her as she always wants ANSWERS!

I can't understand why Bear should be criticised for looking for answers to what are after all very important questions.

mummmy2017 · 17/01/2018 22:44

There is NO edit on here, you knew what I meant, and by stating this you prove you know what I mean. so think nit picking is just that...

There are no answer we can find, why is it so hard for you too see that you are just a minion in all this exactly the same as me, we voted and started a ball rolling, the ball is now beyond the control of us both.

I am quiet happy to see where this ball ends up, because it is taking us out of the EU. I accept we are leaving the EU. I accept there will be an effect from all this and that right now the answers is there is no answer.

Do you really think that a light bulb is suddenly going to go off in your head that will mean you call no 10 and they get down on their knees to thank you for this idea.

Yes it's a simple view, but right now it's the truth. We are powerless.

Even if you ran around outside Westminster naked and got on the News, and air you views it still isn't going to effect anything....

time4chocolate · 17/01/2018 22:46

Yes a stalwart indeed, however, if I had spent two years wanting answers and not getting anything back that I find acceptable, I would probably think about asking my questions elsewhere (unless of course she thinks one or two of us may have a hotline to Brussels).

FaithHopeCharityDesperation · 17/01/2018 23:00

I can't understand why Bear should be criticised for looking for answers to what are after all very important questions.

It would help your understanding if my post was read/quoted entirely & in context.

Bearbehind · 17/01/2018 23:10

if I had spent two years wanting answers and not getting anything back that I find acceptable, I would probably think about asking my questions elsewhere

You say that like it’s a badge of honour time

The very fact that, even after 2 years, you lot still can’t answer the most basic of question is not something to be proud of; it’s evidence you’ve been brainwashed into a cult and havent even begun to realise it.

Doubletrouble99 · 17/01/2018 23:15

Can I ask why we are not discussing a Free Trade deal as the answer and are so fixated with having to need access to the single market.

mummmy2017 · 17/01/2018 23:15

So you do think we have a hotline and are hiding what the calls say.

We have no answers, We don't know the answers.
We have not been told what the answers are, as the EU and UK have not finished negotiations.

Maybe as Said Bear you need to write to someone maybe NO 10 and ask them to clarify the things you don't understand and want answers too, as us poor MN lot, don't not, and can't find the answers you so long for.

I think the award we would give you many not be one for honour or valor...

CardinalSin · 17/01/2018 23:20

Bear, I'm finally convinced that Mummy is definitely a Leaver troll. She's been playing the role well, but shes finally given up and is saying things that nobody would be able to claim whilst still having the brain power to breathe...

mummmy2017 · 17/01/2018 23:26

@cardinalsin. What is a Leaver Troll I always wanted to know.

I am a bored mum sat at home on a wet night, who wanted to leave the EU, it really is that simple, I don't know the answers, and admit it freely as pretending otherwise seems stupid.

I wish I did have all the answers as I'd make the EU pay big time for that knowledge, and work as an advisor.

FaithHopeCharityDesperation · 17/01/2018 23:42

Mummy - declaring someone to be a 'leaver troll' is the statutory fallback option for the committed MN remoaner when faced with someone who does not sign up to their prescribed dogma.
This term is interchangeable with 'bot' or 'shill' and is oft accompanied by assertions that you are probably based in Russia.

mummmy2017 · 18/01/2018 00:12
