Where have all the Brexiters gone?

Just that really. 52% voted to leave. I know Mumsnet isn't completely representative of the electorate but you would expect at least a few people to be banging the Brexit drum. The ones that were quite vocal seem to have lost their voice. Perhaps they're just bored with the whole thing but their silence really is deafening.

I know you all love arguing with leavers

That’s why they liked the Brexit Arms threads Surfer.
Gave them an outlet on MN to bitch-plop to/about Leavers.
It’s quite pathetic really.

M4Dad · 11/10/2017 13:06

Of course Boris isn't part of an elite

I didn't say that, he's just no at Soro's level - which is what I initmated. It's not my fault your definition of elite is wrong

Schtinkay · 11/10/2017 13:13

Most of us are hiding in wardrobes, or behind the fridge. But we're still here.

According to this definition, JRM, Fromage and Bojo definitely fit the 'elite' bill.

"Good to hear a remainer admit that there was and is no need for a political union to be able to trade with out European cousins."

Funny how you ignore the rest of my post...

Schtinkay · 11/10/2017 13:18

To reiterate other posters, noone I know who voted to leave has changed their mind. I certainly haven't.

I find it bizarre that many remained seem to be willing the UK to fail.

We have gone quiet here because it's so bloody repetitive.

M4Dad · 11/10/2017 13:18

Look, I apologise if you thought me saying elite meant people like Boris Johnson.

When I said "elites" I meant , people like George Soros, the Rothschilds, Kissinger etc.

Brexit has certainly given those people a punch on the nose, which I love as it doesn't happen very often.

I can see, however, why you thought I meant people like Johnson.

FaithHopeCharityDesperation · 11/10/2017 13:20

We have gone quiet here because it's so bloody repetitive.

👍

surferjet · 11/10/2017 13:23

I know Faith it’s pathetic isn’t it. They make out they’re so intelligent yet here they are just taking the piss.
We had to stop posting in the Brexit Arms because of remainers trolling & goading ( all dressed up as ‘intelligent debate’ )
Intelligent debate my arse. The only intelligent remainer is Red which is why you’ll never see her on threads like this.

Bearbehind · 11/10/2017 13:27

It's only repetitive because Leave voters are completely unable to discuss how we might overcome the obstacles that face us and why it's going to be worth doing.

The reptition comes from the fact it always resorts to one of the following

  • I could answer but you're rude so I won't
  • I told you ages ago
  • it doesn't matter, we're leaving whatever you think
  • the EU was unelected and ruled us

I simply can't think of another situation that will lead to such significant changes where those that chose it thought and still think so little of the repercussions

GhostofFrankGrimes · 11/10/2017 13:31

Ah yes, the brexit arms open to all apparently as long as you agree with us.

FaithHopeCharityDesperation · 11/10/2017 13:33

Did you ever attempt to be nice to Leavers on there Ghost?

I don’t recall you ever doing that.

I did however see you doing otherwise.

CardinalSin · 11/10/2017 13:34

Ah, yes. It's so important to give "people like George Soros, the Rothschilds, Kissinger" a bloody nose at the cost of crashing your national economy for a generation.

Well done you!

Faith, I was perfectly polite.

FaithHopeCharityDesperation · 11/10/2017 13:50

Faith, I was perfectly polite.

🤣
KK then.

Entirely subjective opinion though - I found you otherwise.

Theworldisfullofidiots · 11/10/2017 13:54

Ah yes, the brexit arms open to all apparently as long as you agree with us.
So this is rude but this isn't apparently...

Hmm

I agree subjective.....
I'm a bit offended at being called pathetic. I was going to let it past....

CardinalSin · 11/10/2017 14:06

NotDavid - thanks for pointing that out.

I think we all understand M4Dad a little better now...

TatianaLarina · 11/10/2017 14:11

I simply mean that it isn't our job to figure out how it will work, that wasn't the question the referendum asked

Surely if you vote for something you figure out if it will actually work first? And you figure out if the people you’re voting for have figured out how it will work?

Now you can see that the people in charge can’t figure out how this will work, how do you feel?

TatianaLarina · 11/10/2017 14:16

I think we should give them a nominal amount and if they don't like it we should just leave the talks and take a hard brexit.

I see. In that case you lose the right to be taken seriously.

M4Dad · 11/10/2017 14:21

I think it's pretty clear the kind of 'elites' you want to give a 'punch on the nose', M4Dad

Jesus christ? You think I'm being anti Jewish?

Are you taking the piss?

surferjet · 11/10/2017 14:26

M4Dad

I’d actually report their posts tbh & I never report anything. What they’re accusing you of is appalling.

Did it not occur to you to pick a non-Jewish example?

It didn't even occur to me for a second that they were all Jewish. If you knew me that you'd know I'm anything but an anti-semite FFS.
