Where have all the Brexiters gone?

Just that really. 52% voted to leave. I know Mumsnet isn't completely representative of the electorate but you would expect at least a few people to be banging the Brexit drum. The ones that were quite vocal seem to have lost their voice. Perhaps they're just bored with the whole thing but their silence really is deafening.

So no sensible response on Croatia then but quick to correct my spelling wisedad

As for 'making a leap' on carolines posts, and trying to work out, from a huge tangle of words, what is what; that's slightly ironic given you said I needed 'spoon feeding' when I asked you to repost your question to me.

Sadly I'll stick with my first impression of you; GF Hmm

Have tried to stay off this thread, but agree with Hadtojoinin that there the border between Croatia and Bosnia and Herzogovina felt pretty hard (ooh er) when I travelled through there.

We were on a reputable tour bus, which probably helped, but we had to wait in a queue before an officer (I remember him being armed but I might be wrong) checked all our passports and spoke to the driver.

I believe that issues over this border have cause both countries problems in terms of encouraging investment and infrastructure.

FaithHopeCharityDesperation · 13/10/2017 20:39

*Re carolines post being well laid out, I'm beginning to think there is a difference between what users on MN see.

I'm not being sarcastic here. Her post at 15.04 was a complete mess on my screen.*

The formatting fucks up a lot on the different things that people use to post Bear.

On the iPhone app for eg my posts all look ok, then I’ll post, then it’ll look all to cock when it’s posted on the thread.

Other times, posters will be saying that a post is all weird but to me the same post looks fine & vice versa.

It’s all very discombobulating ConfusedGrin

Bearbehind · 13/10/2017 20:44

It was actually you that made me think there's at least 2 different MN worlds faith

Genuinely not being sarky, but all your posts look fucked up to me too! Grin

I think there must be different views, I use an iPad and the website- I think there's a difference on the app.

FaithHopeCharityDesperation · 13/10/2017 21:01

😂😂

When you cut, paste & bold in different parts of a post on the app it all looks ok - then post and BOOM! fucked up formatting.

Add some italics in & you’re ruined.

TheElementsSong · 13/10/2017 21:02

The beetroot chocolate cake works too - Harry Eastwood even has an aubergine chocolate cake which is so moist and rich. (I’m not her, plugging her book, in case anyone is wondering Smile).

squishysquirmy · 13/10/2017 21:26

I have copied your cake recipes Rufus as they look delicious and I have a relative you is both wheat and dairy free (I find cooking savoury dishes for them easy, but struggle with desserts). Thankyou!

stargayren · 13/10/2017 21:33

World thanks again, lots of rhetoric on that site which doesn't represent me totally but I can share the concern.

Global Power and control were very much a factor in my vote. I perceived a lack of accountability which was compounded by our eu involvement and the only way I could see to even start to return control/ transparency was by untangling some of the threads.

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 13/10/2017 21:35

No worries squishy

Its a friends recipe she made for our cake club, i think she got it from a recipe book

I dont eat gluten free stuff but another friend of mine does and she says they can be a bit dry sometimes

Not this one Grin

My cakes were usually awesome....but this was a very close 2nd Grin Grin

Bearbehind · 13/10/2017 22:23

Add some italics in & you’re ruined

That did genuinely make me lol.

As did the beginning of this thread when whollyfather and cardinalsin were having a bit of a set to- that made me giggle too!

This whole thing is a clusterfuck of epic proportion, I guess you've got to get your laughs where you can!

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 13/10/2017 22:26

There have been a few barneys on here that have made me all Shock

Its why i keep coming back to be fair...

It's a shame caroline didn't come back to 'explain Croatia'.

It would be great if Croatia set the precedent for having no border in NI as caroline implied but if the reality is there is a border there I'm interested to understand what point she was making.

Her, wisedad and m4 have all followed the standard script of stamping their feet because their questions haven't been answered then disappearing or ignoring the responses when people do bother to reply or comment on their posts.

It does somewhat limit the opportunity for constructive debate Hmm

Carolinesbeanies · 14/10/2017 08:53

"ODFO m4" Who the fuck do you think you are Bear? Ill repeat, you run round these threads, targetting individual posters, spouting ignorant bile, and as youve demonstrated over and over again, youre simply not bothered with responses. Youre truly unpleasant.

But there again, this is exactly why the OP started yet another 'where are you all ' goady thread, theres a very unpleasant element of coat holders here on MN.

"Quite frankly I'm losing the will to live" Shame. It was your list Theworlds. No response then?

Hadtojoin, Croatia absolutely set precedents that could apply to NI. Just as the reasoning behind the balkan readmission policies did before. The EU absolutely accomodated free movement between Bosnia and Coatia, a position they are adamant they will currently not consider in NI. Of course in Brexit, they can only enforce their unreasonable and duplicitous will on Ireland (being the remaining eu state), but that is squarely what they are currently stating they will do. Croatia and Bosnia can have 'excluded' borders, Ireland cant. Go figure.

(Travellers from other countries of course have to comply with normal national travel regs, its the throwing out of EU policies to accomodate Croatia/Bosnia whilst shit stirring over NI and the Irish that sticks in the throat).

Bearbehind · 14/10/2017 09:00

Cross post caroline

If you read the posts prior to my ODFO comment you'd see m4 was just winding me up.

Please show me an example of my 'ignorant bile'?

Also please show me where I've not bothered with responses?

I try to engage and comment on all replies when I'm posting, the trend is that my responses then get ignored.

I still don't see what you are saying about Croatia. Any land border would breach GFA in NI so if Croatia has border control, for whatever purpose, that's not a solution for NI.

surferjet · 14/10/2017 09:04

I know this may seem like a silly question - but on the ‘peace in Europe’ thing. I know Germany hasn’t invaded anyone since WW2, & we get on ok with France, ( the Scandinavian countries never bother anyone anyway ) but what did the EU do when Yugoslavia descended into chaos in the late 80’s early 90’s?

Carolinesbeanies · 14/10/2017 09:06

"caroline, you were quite right, I couldn't be arsed to read that diatribe"

If I could be arsed, Id flick over most other threads when your stock response for the last year is just that. Is EU reality a tad too complex for you Bear? Heavens.

HipToBeSquare · 14/10/2017 09:08

Caroline calling another poster "...truly unpleasant" is bit pot calling kettle eh. You're pretty fucking unpleasant at times yourself.

Bearbehind · 14/10/2017 09:11

That's not 'ignorant bile', that was stating your post was a great big jumble of words that made no sense.

It's since been discussed that there might be a formatting issue on MN which explains that.

you might want to take a look in the mirror before you tell others how unpleasant they are; the patronising 'Is the EU a tad too complex for you?' hardly covers you in glory.

And back to Croatia; what precedent has been set there that could solve the border problem in NI? I'm still not clear from your previous what you mean.

Bearbehind · 14/10/2017 09:12

Thanks hip.

time4chocolate · 14/10/2017 09:14

........and you have just added yourself into the ‘pot&kettle’ club. Congratulations.

time4chocolate · 14/10/2017 09:15

My post was in response to hip

HipToBeSquare · 14/10/2017 09:16

Thanks Time, truly worthwhile post there Hmm and like I give a fuck
