Where have all the Brexiters gone?

Just that really. 52% voted to leave. I know Mumsnet isn't completely representative of the electorate but you would expect at least a few people to be banging the Brexit drum. The ones that were quite vocal seem to have lost their voice. Perhaps they're just bored with the whole thing but their silence really is deafening.

OK Bear, in easy words, theres no external EU border in Croatia, does that help?

The only "huge" difference regards my use of the word 'virtually', is there is of course a claim to land. There is a 'border'' that defines territory in Croatia and Bulgaria, but no actual border.

Concise or shall I do a diagram?

Carolinesbeanies · 13/10/2017 16:20

soz......should have read Bosnia........ too much typing today Smile

Bearbehind · 13/10/2017 16:25

It's obvious that you don't understand the meaning of the word.

Apologies- I meant monologue Blush

Theworldisfullofidiots · 13/10/2017 16:25

I'm sorry I don't get what's for me.
Quite frankly I'm losing the will to live.

Bearbehind · 13/10/2017 16:29

You and me both world

caroline you've gone from one extreme to the other now. I told you I don't know the specifics of the Croatia, Bosnia border.

If it sets a precedent for what could happen in NI I'm all for it.

It does seem odd that it's never been mentioned in anything I've read to do with resolving the NI issue.

If you think it's the answer or at least the precedent could you explain why?

Also Bosnia is seeking accession to the EU so is in quite a different position to us leaving.

You now only appear to be here to poke me with your shitty stick.

Take it somewhere else.

Theworldisfullofidiots · 13/10/2017 17:13

m4Dad thanks. you've confirmed for me my profile of the ideologue leave voter.

bearbehind nice glass of wine tonight. Tis not worth the bother trying to have a reasonable discussion about sovereignty and further lack of with WTO rules, economic health and debt.
Wood and trees springs to mind.

We're having French food tonight with s nice bottle of pinotafe because you know, I'm one of the elite Hmm

Theworldisfullofidiots · 13/10/2017 17:14

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 13/10/2017 17:59

Its cake surfer cake!!!

I honestly dont think you get the importance of cake!!!

Are you actually a surfer

RandomlyGenerated · 13/10/2017 18:02

Cake and mashed potato do not belong in the same sentence.

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 13/10/2017 18:04

Thats what i thought randomly

Until this cake...

TheElementsSong · 13/10/2017 18:07

Cake and mashed potato do not belong in the same sentence.

Seriously Randomly, I've used a Harry Eastwood recipe for a gluten-free Victoria sandwich-type cake, using grated potato instead of butter, and rice flour. It's lovely!

Hadtojoinin · 13/10/2017 18:18

This is my first post ever! Can’t believe no one has responded. Croatia most definitely has a border with Bosnia and vice versa even though at the coast it’s only a 20k strip so it’s quite a hassle. To drive through you have to wait in two border controls and it wasn’t quick. BTW same with Montenegro.

Bearbehind · 13/10/2017 18:32

That's interesting hadtojoin

I said earlier I thought it was odd it hasn't been mentioned as a solution previously.

We'll await carolines response.

WiseDad · 13/10/2017 18:38

I have heard tales of the fabled mashed potato cake but have never made one. Maybe tomorrow as we have a birthday afternoon tea. Feels a little weird as an idea but I suppose the starch helps crumb structure.

As for Brexit I feel I have done enough. The start of the thread was in why Brexit supporters didn't engage and the first 450 messages rather showed why. It has finally got more interesting.

Caroline's response was good but contained a couple of issues. The points are well set out though. We should have more of that rather than the other types of points.

As for me making Besrbehind bored with my "life" comments. Sorry. Was a polite way of saying not to expect an instant response, or even any response.

Bearbehind · 13/10/2017 18:49

Fair play wisedad, lets agree to quit with the taking swipes at each other Grin

Re carolines post being well laid out, I'm beginning to think there is a difference between what users on MN see.

I'm not being sarcastic here. Her post at 15.04 was a complete mess on my screen.

There was astrixes (sp?) everywhere but nothing was in bold so I couldn't work out what was quotes and what was her responses.

What are your thoughts Croatia?

stargayren · 13/10/2017 19:00

The world, that's for the legatum steer. It's an interesting organisation which I was not aware of.

xqwertyx · 13/10/2017 19:12

I don’t think they have gone anywhere? They are all still where they were before Brexit. Only now they are there with a huge smile on their face. Staying quiet because they won and theres nothing further to discuss.

They probably just don’t want to gloat on their success. Grin

RandomlyGenerated · 13/10/2017 19:12

How does potato work instead of butter? One is starch and one is fat - might have to try that.

I did try a beetroot chocolate cake. I would put it in the same category as morris dancing.

WiseDad · 13/10/2017 19:25

Last one from me

Potato cake is far enough but beetroot might be a way of getting my daughter to eat veg. I will look for a recipe.

Layout. You could see Caroline had set out quotes and tried bold. It didn't require much of a leap. She was trying debate. Hard online though.

Asterisks. Asterix was a small Gaulish cartoon character.

Croatia. Never been but I hear it's nice.

One more week to half term. I might just make it if I stay off Brexit threads

Have a good one everybody. it will work out ok in the end.

Peregrina · 13/10/2017 19:29

it will work out ok in the end

Maybe, but I expect to be dead then, my children approaching retirement and my grandson middle aged.
