Westministenders: The Zombie PM

Back from the dead, May carries on whilst the vultures circle.

She had tried to out smart her rivals by running of to the palace to tell the queen she could form a government before they could act.

Definitely she stood and pretended nothing had changed. Except everything had. The wrath of her party was unleashed and there was open revolt. She has been summoned to appear before men in grey suits tomorrow at 5pm to hear their verdict.

How do she decide to make amends and reach out to moderate Tories? By sleeping with the DUP. And appointing Gove to her Cabinet.

How long will this last? How long can it last?

If they DO put back the Qspeech by a week, can that count as a constitutional crisis? (PLEASE??)

Peregrina · 13/06/2017 21:29

Ministers Reassure MPs Brexit Policy Hasn’t Changed

This will get interesting then.

Yes, because only not leaving or soft brexit can sort out NI. I don't want to see people in NI/RoI suffer, but I will enjoy seeing the shit hit the fan when the Tories involved are standing next to it.

GhostofFrankGrimes · 13/06/2017 21:30

Jo Cox programme on bbc2. Really exposing how vile elements of the leave campaign were.

RedToothBrush · 13/06/2017 21:30

But if May decides to push ahead with ridiculous Hard Brexit I also can't see there not being Tory Civil War.

Is there any scenario in which we don't get Tory Civil War?

Which polls show less of us want to remain? Not these...

whatukthinks.org/eu/questions/in-highsight-do-you-think-britain-was-right-or-wrong-to-vote-to-leave-the-eu/?removed

easy fake statement to make

BigChocFrenzy · 13/06/2017 21:34

May's aims - and those of her successor:

  1. save her own skin
  2. avoid the Tory party tearing itself apart with a civil war that could keep them out of office for 10-15 years.
  3. cling on to power as long as possible in the hope that Labour will have its own civil war (looking much less likely atm)
BigChocFrenzy · 13/06/2017 21:34

The good of the country is not in that list

flippinada · 13/06/2017 21:34

Yes they were @Ghost. I haven't forgotten Farage's foul poster and crowing about how they won "without a single shot being fired", one week after Jo Cox's murder.

Leavers must rally fast to stop zombie Remainers hijacking Brexit

It is extraordinary that the country is once again discussing the question of whether Britain is leaving the single market after an election where 85% of voters voted for parties who committed to doing so. Nonetheless, this is the picture which appears to be emerging after the general election, with revitalised Remainers suddenly reappearing, zombie-like, to launch a full-on onslaught against Brexit in whichever ways they can.

Bahahahaha

Don't care whether Brexit is poached or boiled. We are NOT staying under jurisdiction of ECJ which stops us kicking out jihadists.

From that independent article

Other demands include the restoring of a particularly controversial Orange Order parade to Drumcree church, through a Nationalist stronghold, which the Northern Irish Parades Commision has not permitted for twenty years.

Well thats going to go well

I also noticed that the DUP want to take allowances from parties who dont take their seats...who could they be aiming that at???

If thats all true ( and i dont believe everything i see in the papers) its going to go very badly wrong

illegitimateMortificadospawn · 13/06/2017 21:45

Anyone else think Cameron should STFU after kicking this hornet's nest and running away? Little shit!

everthibkyouvebeenconned · 13/06/2017 21:46

I feel a march coming on. Belfast anyone?

HashiAsLarry · 13/06/2017 21:47

illegitimate
No. He may have had single market in his manifesto but spam face should respectfully stfu

RedToothBrush · 13/06/2017 21:50

This Jo Cox documentary is disturbing in how the police have no idea how he got the gun and its still an ongoing inquiry.

Leaver Richard North discussing important issues like FOM and EFTA, but also seems to think Brexit is in danger of either disaster or of not happening, unless Leavers agree on EEA / EFTA:

http://www.eureferendum.com/blogview.aspx?blogno=86507

We are risking the UK's prosperity on the back of the profound ignorance of our politicians and media.
This is the debate that was lacking from the election and it seems to be absent now.
There is a wilful refusal to get to grips with it.
That will be our undoing.

The way it's going will end up with negotiations going round in circles just long enough for Brexit to be sabotaged.
It's time for leavers to ask just how serious they are about leaving. If they are serious then they need to get to grips with the issues and face a few home truths.

You have one option and one window to get out of the EU intact.

I do not support this unhinged clamour to inflict as much economic pain as possible on the back of a very slender mandate in a referendum we won by accident.

Really awkward Mexican Wave there,

squoosh · 13/06/2017 21:56

Allison Pearson blocked me on Twitter, not I hasten to add because I was in any way aggressive towards her. I never even tweeted her, I merely liked a few tweets that expressed disgust at her 'internment camp' tweets.

I remember her as a mild mannered contributor to the Newsnight culture review. These days she is more Hopkins than Hopkins. Total troll.

everthibkyouvebeenconned · 13/06/2017 21:56

Red I hate to tell you but I think it is possible to get a gun in the UK...if you know how and who

The only reason the ISIS inspired terrorists haven't managed to use guns so far is that very very few would sell to them. RW on the other hand have easier access

squoosh · 13/06/2017 21:59

The Tories might as well shit on the GFA and wipe their arse with a tricolour if they agrees to that. Talk about lighting the touch paper.

everthibkyouvebeenconned · 13/06/2017 22:02

sqoosh how about Gresham common type tactics.. without the tents and with function in toilets

If the DUP want to play with mainland politics. How about we take our hairy armpits and DMs and march to them ( note to self stop shaving..find DMs)
