Back from the dead, May carries on whilst the vultures circle.

She had tried to out smart her rivals by running of to the palace to tell the queen she could form a government before they could act.

Definitely she stood and pretended nothing had changed. Except everything had. The wrath of her party was unleashed and there was open revolt. She has been summoned to appear before men in grey suits tomorrow at 5pm to hear their verdict.

How do she decide to make amends and reach out to moderate Tories? By sleeping with the DUP. And appointing Gove to her Cabinet.

How long will this last? How long can it last?

FFS Gresham it's not even a word..Greenham

iirc, the Parades Commission was set up as part of the GFA to be completely independent.
Over-ruling their decision would be smashing the GFA.

Strengthening one "side" in NI - purely for rUK party political gain - could destabilise NI.
If Unionist triumphalism starts up again, because May bribes them with power, then this could goad Republicans into resuming the Troubles

The only thing I agree with is curbing foreign donations to NI parties. These should be brought into line with rUK rules.
I always hated the US donations going to Sinn Fein and now apparently US donations used the DUP as a conduit to surreptitiously fund political activities like Brexit

Big sentiment agreed 're funding. But not now

everthibkyouvebeenconned the point was that this guy had no friends. No contacts. No nothing. He had sent three text messages in two years. He had no criminal record and was completely off the radar.

And the police still don't know how he got the gun.

Its not that its easy to get a gun in the UK if you know how. Its that they can't find a trace of how a man like this got one.

Whatever happened to turn Allison Pearson into a troll, I wonder. She wrote a nauseating piece on Ched Evans recently too.

I'll join in with the march. I have big boots and haven't shaved my legs for at least 3 weeks.

everthibkyouvebeenconned · 13/06/2017 22:18

Red there are certain pubs in some areas. It's always been off grid

Sostenueto · 13/06/2017 22:18

I have been lanquishing in bed all day watching politics and getting thoroughly bored with it all. Tomorrow may be interesting, otherwise will have to wait till next week for some sort of skirmish or two.

Tony Gallagher‏*@tonygallagher*

Robert Halfon is writing for us tomorrow. Damning.

Tony Gallagher is from the Sun. Robert Halfon is the (disabled) Conservative MP Theresa May sacked yesterday who predicted the Corbyn surge very accurately over 12 months before from the direction the Conservatives were going in and how this would provoke a backlash.

That tweet is not a good tweet for May.

A lot of people voted leave just to get Cameron out and they succeeded.

RedToothBrush · 13/06/2017 22:21

I'm sure there are. The point more is that his lifestyle doesn't fit with any of that either though.

Dh seems to think it's more than likely the gun sat hidden in a shed or attic somewhere without being turned in. Whether he discovered it or it was a family members' is another matter. It's not really an illicit, down the pub, ask a gang type weapon.
My dh knows too much about weapons.

ROB HALFON Conservative Party must reform its values to win back blue-collar votes or face years in the wilderness
MP Rob Halfon says his party portrayed itself as having no values during the election campaign when it needed to prove that it is the party that stands for ALL workers and their families

Man who gets it and sounds rather more Labour than Tory sacked by May with no explanation so writes for sun about how the Conservatives are crap.

There's things that only a certain type of politician can get away with.

Like the one on the left. Unlike the one on the right.

At an industry conference today I was talking to a woman from NI who was very open about just how complicated any changes to border regulations will make basic functioning in our industry (and by implication several other industries).

She was also very unimpressed with the DUP situation and very very gloomy about the likely effects on even short term political stability

EXCLUSIVE: Labour rules out working with Theresa May on Brexit until she dumps 'no deal' rhetoric

www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/brexit-labour-conservatives-corbyn-may-cross-party-approach-ruled-out-no-deal-rhetoric-a7788486.html

Exclusive: Top shadow cabinet minister says Government must be ‘honest’ about devastating impact of no EU deal

But in a sign of deepening Tory splits, Brexit-backing cabinet ministers warn it will not mean any softening of Ms May’s tough stance.

In an exclusive interview with The Independent, Labour’s Barry Gardiner branded media reports that talks between his party and the Tories are already taking place as “a joke”, adding “it’s just not happening”.

The shadow Business and shadow Trade Secretary said: “If the Government knows what it’s doing, and wants to put it before Parliament, then Parliament will take a view.

“The idea that they can coral opposition into rubber stamping whatever bad deal they come up with is a joke.”

Claiming that the Conservatives are not being straight with people about the potential impacts of leaving with no deal, he said: “There is not going to be a consensus, unless there is honesty.”

And

While Mr Gardiner said Labour wants a successful Brexit, he went on: “When Governments are in a fix they say ‘let’s have a royal commission’ or ‘we need to consult other parties about this’.

“What that means is ‘shit, we don’t know what to do, so let’s rope others into this so they can share the blame’.

“The point is this – Labour wants Brexit to be a success. The Government, in terms of what it keeps on saying about ‘no deal’ and in terms of regulation and alignment, is heading for bad deal.”

Smart move Labour.

Government in real trouble. Problem is they'll take us all with them.
