Are you able to point to a time in the history of modern Britain (or Europe) when our culture wasn't in a state of flux? When the language, "look", culture, wasn't changing?

howabout · 22/03/2017 10:11

Interesting article on global supply chains in fashion. Conclusion is that it may be more about politics than economics - with economics it is always on the one hand vs on the other, but with politics it is look no hands - there are no Brexit facts.

Re the crochet comment above, I learnt from my Grannie and I am very lucky to have a reasonably priced sheep to shop local supplier. If NZ is a guide then I am hopeful UK sheep farmers will start sheering sheep again post Brexit.

---And in other environmental good news the electric London taxi company opens in the Midlands today - backed by China (not the EU)

Suggest leavers Google cognitive dissonance.

Carried out, satis.

Suggest that google & self-help therapies may be counterproductive in the case of the extreme Brexit phobia displayed by some & that professional help is sought.

Exposure therapies for deep rooted anxiety have much better outcomes when carried out with the guidance of an experienced therapist.

Svetlana33 compassionate greetings to you, your views seem to be a bit like this organisation:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bloc_identitaire
have you heard of them?

GhostofFrankGrimes · 22/03/2017 10:14

I thought the right wing narrative was that the unemployed were scroungers? Strange that brexiters show concern for people who are usually fodder for the gutter press. Faux concern?

GhostofFrankGrimes · 22/03/2017 10:15

Alternatively you can seek professional help for delusion and fantasy

Bearbehind · 22/03/2017 10:16

svetlana your posts always revert to your irrational xenophobia with regards to non-EU citizens from countries you don't like, being able to get in to the EU.

It is a disgusting and disgraceful attitude quite frankly, particularly from someone who claims to be an EU citizen originally from outside the EU.

Why is your home country better than someone else's?

Why are you more deserving than someone from one of the countries on your hit list?

SemiPermanent · 22/03/2017 10:17

Been involved. In social justice campaigns for nearly 10 years

I do hope it's just been in an 'involved in campaign' capacity.

I dread to imagine that such a shockingly low level of self-awareness, compassion, empathy (and basic decency at times) would be let loose in a one-on-one capacity with 'the disadvantaged'.

woman12345 · 22/03/2017 10:18

If there's no reply from svetlana this is a clip about this organisation in France, sounds a bit like her ideas. They have groups across Europe and are popular with the young. Generation Identitaire.

Svetlana33 · 22/03/2017 10:19

What are you basing this on?

Intimate knowledge of some cultures and cultural psychology.

Svetlana33 · 22/03/2017 10:21

Are you able to point to a time in the history of modern Britain (or Europe) when our culture wasn't in a state of flux?

Flux is normal, upside down is not.

squishysquirmy · 22/03/2017 10:21

Right, so a hunch based on personal experience. No actual proof the non-EU citizens refuse to be employed by white men.

PoundlandUK · 22/03/2017 10:23

Long term unemployment rate data for UK.

your posts always revert to your irrational xenophobia with regards to non-EU citizens

not xenophobia my dear. I am pointing out that some posters have vested interest in being Remain because they themselves are from Eu country or outside of Europe. to make this clear is not xeno.

squishysquirmy · 22/03/2017 10:24

Having a couple of families in my street who speak a different first language, and a mosque/synagogue in my local area does not turn my culture "upside down".

Svetlana33 · 22/03/2017 10:25

I dread to imagine that such a shockingly low level of self-awareness, compassion, empathy (and basic decency at times) would be let loose in a one-on-one capacity with 'the disadvantaged'

Semi - they practice theory. that is all. their compassion is as deep as their self interest.

Bearbehind · 22/03/2017 10:26

Of course some posters have a vested interest because they are from other countries.

Some have a vested interest for plenty of other reasons too.

You always cone back to a point about stopping non-EU nationals becoming EU nationals and entering the UK- why?

GhostofFrankGrimes · 22/03/2017 10:26

Plenty of empathy and compassion here but thanks for your concern semi.

woman12345 · 22/03/2017 10:26

Svetlana33 Still sounds a bit like what you are writing:
The Bloc Identitaire aims to be a "rally for young French and Europeans who are proud of their roots and of their heritage". It opposes "imperialism, whether it be American or Islamic".

Svetlana33 · 22/03/2017 10:26

Having a couple of families in my street who speak a different first language, and a mosque/synagogue in my local area does not turn my culture "upside down"

What is your culture, squishy? I also speak a different first language, what is your point?

squishysquirmy · 22/03/2017 10:27

I'm British born, to British parents and live in Britain. Am I allowed an opinion Svetlana?
I must confess to having "vested interests" though - I think everyone on this thread does.

woman12345 · 22/03/2017 10:29

Fortunately anti racist organisations have run successful campaigns across Europe, and still are! Smile

squishysquirmy · 22/03/2017 10:29

"flux is normal. Upside down is not"
That's what I was refferring to Svetlana - what do you mean by that?
You can't hint vaguely at such a huge threat without giving us a bit more info!

boredofbrexit · 22/03/2017 10:34

Maybe the dialogue will improve after B-day, when actualities have to be faced.

(yawn, prepared for the drivel-list of doom-sodden actuality-prosophies and so glad I now have a 45 minute drive with no screen checking)

While listening to the soundtrack from Withnail & I, for shits and gigglesHalo

Svetlana33 · 22/03/2017 10:35

You always cone back to a point about stopping non-EU nationals becoming EU nationals and entering the UK- why?

you misunderstand. any non-European can become EU national and enter the UK at the moment. but many "EU nationals" are not European. for any society to have rapid change imposed on them is totally wrong because it causes chaos, displacement and resentment.
