It's the brexiters facing the realities on unicorn day.

CountMagnus · 22/03/2017 10:36

Howabout If NZ is a guide then I am hopeful UK sheep farmers will start sheering sheep again post Brexit.

The UK sheep industry will be in trouble if the UK strikes any kind of free trade deal with New Zealand. Add in a hard Brexit cutting off the EU market and it's not a very good outlook at all.

squishysquirmy · 22/03/2017 10:37

And if we should be so scared of those outside the EU trying to turn our culture upside down, why shouldn't we be scared of you trying to do the same*? Which ones are the bad immigrants, and which are the good ones? Is there a way to tell by looking?

*Just to clarify: I do NOT scared of you doing this, and I hope that you feel welcome and happy in this country despite our political differences.

GhostofFrankGrimes · 22/03/2017 10:38

Non EU immigration is likely to increase post Brexit!

Bearbehind · 22/03/2017 10:42

you misunderstand. any non-European can become EU national and enter the UK at the moment. but many "EU nationals" are not European. for any society to have rapid change imposed on them is totally wrong because it causes chaos, displacement and resentment.

I don't 'misunderstand' at all.

You have an irrational fear and hatred of people coming from countries you don't 'like' being able to enter the UK.

I'm asking why you think it is such a problem.

What kind of numbers are we talking about here if you think it is going to 'impose rapid change'?

Or, as I suspect, is this just something that's a problem in your head?

squishysquirmy · 22/03/2017 10:44

"Chaos displacement and resentment"

If it "displaces" men like this to Hungary, then I'm all for it.

Grin squishysquirmy

Svetlana33 · 22/03/2017 10:47

Politics is dirty, what people can do legally is very limited. in some countries it is conglomerates that runs govt. there is undue influence everywhere, but nothing can change for the better in the long run if UK had not voted to Leave. this is the first step; to have stayed in EU would have ensured that we became one large job centre for employers to pluck the cheapest from.

Next step has to be formulated. money comes into exchequer from tax, therefore more british people must return to work. Yes, shortfall will remain and govt will continue to subsidise council tax and rent for the lower paid, but at least. only one solution at the moment - those unemployed for non-medical reasons must be offered jobs and they must take them.

The EUs who are not in work will no longer be supported, therefore that £ will be used to help British unemployed.

Maybe fishing industry will pick up for example, because Eu fishermen will not be allowed into british waters to take their quota of our fish.

Reconstruction requires good brain, discipline and execution. it should be for the good of the country, and not any political party.

Svetlana33 · 22/03/2017 10:51

Or, as I suspect, is this just something that's a problem in your head?

not problem in my head, but maybe you have developed hysterical blindness, maybe fueled by irrational denial.

GhostofFrankGrimes · 22/03/2017 10:51

The Tories always put party before country.

squishysquirmy · 22/03/2017 10:53

"Next step has to be formulated."

Out of everything you've written, I agree on that.
Some forward planning would be wonderful to see.

I still remain unenlightened on how to tell a "good immigrant" from a "wants to turn my culture upside down" sort of immigrant.

MsHooliesCardigan · 22/03/2017 10:54

Bladders Stop doom mongering. Who needs to go on aeroplanes when you can stay here and rejoice in the paradise that is post Brexit Britain ?

Bearbehind · 22/03/2017 10:54

So you don't have any data on non-European EU nationals that have come to the UK and forced rapid change on us then svetlana

I don't really know where to start on your last post Hmm but taking a couple of points

The EU's who are not in work will no longer be supported, therefore that £ will be used to help British unemployed

And

those unemployed for non-medical reasons must be offered jobs and they must take them

How do you think either of those things will actually happen?

Svetlana33 · 22/03/2017 10:55

Suggest leavers Google cognitive dissonance

This comes from the field in which I work, and I suggest that your anxiety may have affected you

hertsandessex · 22/03/2017 11:02

Svetlana - using such terms as "cognitive dissonance" just shows your liberal elite tendencies. Working patriotic people wearing Union Jack underpants don't care about ramblings so-called experts.

Svetlana33 · 22/03/2017 11:03

So you don't have any data on non-European EU nationals that have come to the UK and forced rapid change on us then

For data you must seek this out yourself and not be lazy. but it has been acknowledged by all parties that in the 20 yrs 1995 to 2015 immigration tripled, and that 2015 saw NET migration of 330,000. very large for small country.

SemiPermanent · 22/03/2017 11:11

Alternatively you can seek professional help for delusion and fantasy

YY, that is v good advice for people who are still trapped in the delusion that Brexit is not real, and the fantasy that it's going to be somehow stopped.

Bearbehind · 22/03/2017 11:13

For data you must seek this out yourself and not be lazy

So you have no idea then.

You are talking specifically about people who weren't EU citizens, who became EU citizens then moved to the UK and inflicted rapid change on this country.

I'd be surprised if there were more such people than can fit into the Brexit bus.

Bearbehind · 22/03/2017 11:15

semi no one thinks Brexit isn't real or fantasises that it will be stopped.

You can try and convince yourself that that us the issue here but it's really not.

We'd just rather hoped there might be a realistic plan at this stage, that Leavers might start acknowledging the consequences and coming up with a credible response to them.

Sadly that is still asking far too much.

squishysquirmy · 22/03/2017 11:24

I've found one! I've found one!

Born outside the EU.
Has Turkish ancestry.
Moved to the UK as a child.
Has inflicted massive change on the British people.

Bearbehind · 22/03/2017 11:26

Lol squishy

So we have the bus driver and that's about it.

GhostofFrankGrimes · 22/03/2017 11:57

No anxiety here and aware Brexit is real. I'm enjoying the brexiters expose their lack of understanding of the magnitude of the situation

Svetlana33 · 22/03/2017 12:00

I still remain unenlightened on how to tell a "good immigrant" from a "wants to turn my culture upside down" sort of immigrant

This sort of pretend question is intended to be guileless but is just a gimmick.

i.e. I was in all evening, but there's a dead body in my sitting room, the room in which I was watching TV all night, blood everywhere, but I don't know how it got there, officer. didn't hear or see a thing. nope, it wasn't me and no one came in. mystery.
