I am fluent in two and competent in two others, so impressed, but I know it isn't as hard if you start when you are tiny.

I can't say I'm scared of Guy Verhofstadt, but it did occur to me how both sides oversimplify things.

I think it reinforced for me how distant the political class - and I include our current government in that, not just past governments and the EU - have become from problems in the ground and how neither side has an easy answer. I don't think what we had was sustainable but I think we are heading for disaster. It is troubling for me.

Cecile heading for disaster in what way? I also think the EU is heading for disaster, because the Euro is doomed, the far right is on the march and the whole sorry project will collapse before long. Which is why Brexit was so crucial. Now we're out, we can put our efforts into distancing ourselves from the EU in its death throes.

Well, I wouldn't say I can do countless - I can do two very easily but I always feel like those two are cheating because it was effortless to learn an extra one as a child. I heard a family today whose children were switching between French, German and English quite effortlessly. But there are lots of things I can't do, I'm very good at languages and can't really tell right from left, my emotional intelligence is also awful so there isn't a huge amount to be impressed about. Concision also isn't my strong point.
